I have a dilemma that may be very easily rectified but it is beyond me and any help would be much appreciated. I recently purchased the 3C PRO 32GB Class 6 MicroSDHC Card from Amazon. I copied everything from my stock 2GB card that came with my Samsung Infuse 4G (Model: SGH-I997, Android Ver: 2.3.7, ROM: MIUI, Kernel: 2.6.35.7, Build: MIUI-1.10.28) to the new card. The problem I am having is that when my new 32GB card is in the computer it reads as a 32GB card but when it is installed in my phone it reads as only having a 13GB capacity. Is there something I am not doing on the phone to to enable the full capacity on the card? Thanks in advance for any and all help!
On MIUI and CM7.1, Internal user space is mounted to SDCARD. So, it is correctly reporting 13GB. I think it's going to eMMC folder.
Thank you ndy4eva! The memory that I thought I had lost is in fact present on the SD Card. I didn't find a file or folder named eMMC but I found what I was looking for in a folder on the SD Card called External SD Card. At least that is how it is labeled using the Root Explorer App. Thanks again, I would not have thought to look on the card itself.

I have a 16gb SD card that is coming tomorrow, but I got my phone tonight. It came with a 2gb SD card. Can I root and install the ROM on my 2gb SD card and swap in my 16gb SD card tomorrow? Does the ROM install to the internal memory?
It depends what phone and which type you put on. If you have an android native phone once you flash your rom from your sd card you no longer need it so if you swap the card it won't have any problems. If you have a windows phone and use an sd build it'll obviously be on your sd card so if you swap it out, you won't have it any longer once you swap it out. If you use NAND it's on your phone, so you won't have to do anything
I would like to know if anyone has any clues as to
why my sd card unmounts pretty much every time
i turn my phone on regardless of the roms i use...
if anyone can help please do

Hi,
I would backup all your sd card data on your PC.
Then format the card to FAT32,then just put back your important files(backups, music, films, photos, docs)
Let Android put back the files it needs, and see if that does not improve the situation.

Thanks for the reply but I had already did that... The way that seemed to have solved it was to partition my sd card in 4ext recovery by just adding an sd ext partition... I had forgotten to do it when I bought it

I also have problem with my Kingmax 32gb class 6. Now I am using Transcend 32gb class 4 and the unmouting problem seem less than class 6. But I don't have problem using Kingmax 16gb class 4. When the problem occur I find the microsd card a hot a bit, so the micro sd card encloser, I am suspect the phone can't handle the card overheat and force the card to unmounting.
On, the Transcend 32GB Class 4 the problem ussually occur when I receiving call, message or notification. So for that reason I transfer the ringtones I am using which are on the micro sd card to the phone/internal memory. It seem the problem really not arise or decrease.
Maybe you would like to try change the ringtones or notification to which are on internal memory or transfer it to internal memory if you have same case as me.
But if not you may backup all the memory on the micro sd card, format it with phone(Erase SD Card). And transfer back to the card as above suggestion.

Folks:
I am running Cyangenmod cm_d2vzw-userdebug 4.1.1 JR003L eng. 20120915.000012 test-keys on the Samsung Galaxy S III, and recently purchased the above-mentioned SD card. The phone wouldn't recognize it at all, giving me a "damaged SD card" message. I formatted it in the PC, then reinserted it in the phone. I still got a "damaged SD card" message, but was prompted to format the card. When I attempted to do so, the phone would stay in a "unmounting sd card" loop, and would never unmount it nor was I able to format the card.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to a reliable 64 GB SD card for this build? Your suggestions are very much appreciated, thanks so very much in advance!

Shouldn't be the phone unless it is the rom. I have 64 GB Class 10 formatted to Fat32 running in mine since device release.

Same here!
I have the same card class 10 with no issues. Have bought the wife two of them. Both have the error you do. Wouldn't work in my phone either but we can both mount any other SD card. If you cruise the forums you'll see high amounts of complaints about getting bad cards or them going bad fast. Seems to be the way class 10s are. My last class 10 for my bionic worked fine, but everyone else complained about high failure rates. Swap it out at the store for another and hope for better luck.

Saw some people posted about using SD as internal memory, but what about a tv box. recently acquired a Tronfy x2, H3 ,1GB/8GB. My game files will be installed to the external memory instead of the internal storage as small as 8 GB. I tried to use clockworkmod recovery 4.0.3. but it does not work, can anyone give me some advice on how to build the SD card into internal memory?
So I was able to format the 64GB SD card as internal storage and it now appears under the Storage menu. However, whenever I connect my phone to the PC to transfer some files to it, I can only see the main memory and not the extra space. So what is the benefit of doing the above if I am not able to use this additional space for files management and media storage?
Anyway I can solve that?
You may have not installed the correct/latest driver. I actually just tried this for the first time and it's the opposite. I could see my 64 GB microSD card, but not the internal storage (and yes, I did format it as internal).
the same for me, i can format like sd card , when I formated like internal storage , display me a warning (slow card) if I wish to continue, I said yes and then tell me damage SD Card .... any help please!!! sorry about my english....
my card is a SanDisk 32gb microSDHC UHS-I Class 10
I have 65 gig formatted as internal on my PC it shows as 80 gig well 74 gig really I also tried 64 gig SD card bought from eBay and told me card corrupt and ended up buying one from reputable company locally and works flawlessly

I had the same issue when I was rooted with S-ON. I have now gone back to stock and all seems to be working fine. Think it's got something to do with security/encryption maybe, I could be wrong but just a thought.

ok... I have root and s-on.... then thats the problem.... thanks....
btw if anyone advanced user have the solution... please.... thanks...
Maybe it's normal
I think it's normal. My unrooted A9 has an SD card formatted as internal storage too. When it's connected to a PC, only "Internal Storage" will be shown because it's merged by the device's internal storage and the SD card together.
You can see the space of "Internal Storage". It should be around 16G/32G (internal) + 64G (SD card).
Hope the above helps.

After trying it a several times and restarting the phone, all I can get now is the internal storage of the memory card. The additional 16 GB of the phone's original memory don't even show
Same **** for me. But my internal shows up as 10 GB?
Hi Guys,
Just installed a brand new Sandisk Class 10 64Gb SDCard and it stuck on 20% for the last 15 minutes, tried to reboot the phone and it got stuck on the white HTC Splash screen, any ideas?
