Jut got an update for pandora for my phone in the android market, and the changelog listed kindle fire support.
Now i realize that they just put this on here because they updated the amazon version, and are keeping the versions consistent, but i think this is pretty cool. Also shows that when the KF gets CM9 it won't have any problems.
Pandora is also on the amazon appstore. That's where I first got mine

I saw recently where the MLB At Bat 11 app was updated to 1.5, but it is still not updated in the Amazon appstore. It's still version 1.4.1. Does anyone know if Amazon is just slow with updates or will the app not be updating at all with Amazon? Thanks.
Amazon can't update the app until the developer submits a new version. Many devs are updating the official market version much faster than on other markets.
What was the determination on running Honeycomb apps on the Kindle Fire? I had read somewhere that they would not work because they were only compatible with HC but has anyone actually tried to see if they will run? I would be very curious to know if they work because the phone apps are a little awkward at times on the larger screen of the kindle.
If someone has apks for any HC apps and would be willing to post them I'd be more than happy to try them out and report back with what works and what doesn't, maybe get a dedicated compatibility list going until someone releases an ICS rom for kindle.
The Fire is running Gingerbread so any HC apps would refuse to install. If HC had been open source Amazon probably would have used it since it is more suited for tablets.
They will probably issue an update with ICS so tablet apps can be used, but since the Kindle runs such a heavily modified version of Android, it will be a while before we see an Amazon issued ICS update.
This would be so awesome I've been doing a lot of searching on this for the past hour. It seems the consistent answer is that we have to wait for ics.. :-!
We may see CM9 on this long before Amazon releases an update. They already have ICS booting on the Fire and it looks pretty stable, but there isn't much hardware support yet. Looks promising though:

Many of the apps are more tablet optimized to take advantage of the extra screen space provided. If you look up Gmail for honeycomb you can see what I mean.
Honeycomb Gmail actually kind of sucks on a 7" tablet. It's really made for the 10"ers, on a 7" it's just crammed like you're back on a 2.5" phone screen.
Quick question. Currently I have both a phone and a tablet. What I would like to do is have the note replace both devices. Nook will only show my magazine subscriptions on the tablet, so can someone please let me know if I would be able to view my magazines on the note?

I would also like to know if the Nook app works well on the note. Sold my Nook Color a few days ago and received my note yesterday. I have seen many bad reviews on the Nook app on Android Market (and some good ones) for the latest version. Apparently the update to the latest version screwed up a lot of current users. Am kind of afraid to download it till I am sure it will work OK.
re: Does n&b nook app see the note as a tablet?
The Nook app is probably the biggest reason I bought the Note. It was really great on the Nook with Android 2.3, but the new version on Android 4.0 can at best be called "cartoonish" - I called Barnes & Noble about the problem and they seemed genuinely concerned, but I'm still waiting to hear back from them. Search for the geekitarian blog - I put a screenshot of a book on the Nook app there.
Magazines work fine, however - they still look pretty good.
If you figure out how to make the Nook recognize the Note as a tablet, please share it.
The Nook app itself hasn't done anything to impact the rest of the phone's operation, just the app itself sucks on the Note.
You can try to change the dpi to 213 or less. Or use paranoid android rom and set the application to tablet ui
As the Title says, Amazon have released their 2 New devices.
A new and improved kindle fire.
And a Kindle Fire HD.
Check it out People :
Kindle Fire HD
Kindle Fire
I know the Fire has already been released, but they have released one with better specs today !
Didn't know where to put this, so placed it here, move if necessary !
Hi guys, I've never used any kindle device before but the price and specs of Kindle Fire HDX got me all excited and I wanna buy it but in one condition and that is if it has Google Play. I hate Amazon Appstore it doesn't have 90% of the apps that Google Play has. What's the point of buying this powerful device if I can't play latest & greatest games and use different apps? I heard that kindle fire hd is rootable and can be converted to android? So I just wanna know if it's possible to could get access to all google play apps and games and play them on this device after it get released?
Thank You
No Google Play Store! They are working on it (developers) but it's not a priority. You can side load almost every app, including Google apps, anyway.
