Bang and Olufsen A8 Earphone. - HTC Desire S

Hey guys, I just bought an original bang and olufsen A8 for 200 SGD. I'm an audiophile and I'm particular about sound balance. I noticed that the left side of the earphones always sounded louder than the right. Is it the earphone problem or my Cyanogenmod rom problem? Can anyone identify the problem?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium

lol .. audiophile .. lol using a mobile phone for music .. etc.
I did notice it a little bit when I was using cyanogenmod a month ago, it really varied as to the track I was listening to. But the time I spent on cyanogenmod was little. I used in-earphones and a pair of headphones.

Surely if you bought $200 headphones you have something other than a desire S to test it on? Maybe like a computer.....?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium

Maybe it could be the song your using? I notice it with some of my tracks... Particularly the new Coldplay Album
I have a pair of Senheisser CX200 . Bog standard In-ear headphones... Nothing special

yeah a phone is the worng device for those headphones you wont see the benifits over normal ones at all.in the real world most tracks are not the same volume on either side.this is due to the way that stereo panning is used in the mixing process.

Bluetooth headset

Hi anybody knows of a good Bluetooth headset that can be used for listening to music and making phone calls, also one that has descent to excellent sound quality.

Motorola HT820, about 6-8 hours playtime. Built-in microphone, buttons to play/pause forward/backward answer calls plus volume buttons. I've been using those for the past 3 years. Great design, not too bulky sweat resistant design so they are perfect for gym.
Cheaper knock-off version - http://www.dealextreme.com/p/x6-sport-mp3-player-bluetooth-headset-w-fm-tf-101285
I've been using a SE MW600 with my HTC Desire HD and now with my Sensation, the sound quality is better then with the stock headset.
+1
Sony Ericsson MW600 is a neat headset. Has FM radio as well. Great value on this headset even though you cannot see/read the tracks because you are not using a SE phone. But the radio does! And lists the song it plays on FM mode too.
I am using the JayBird F3, well worth the $100 they cost.

How's the sound quality on music and call and does this work with the music app that came with the phone?

I have been using Jabra BT3030. Love it as I hate the ones that go around your head and like that I can use whatever headphones I like. Battery life is great and sound quality is really good.

The quality is excellent, not super bright on the treble, all options and buttons work with my Sensation.
I have a Jabra Clipper but it constantly drops out. Does anyone else have this issue? Are there any tips for improving the connection, etc?
I'm using the Samsung HM3700 headset

In my personal use it has a good range, it handles bass well. But I am no audiophile so my expectations could be low

I have nokia BH 503 , more a music thing , but plenty of buttons (pick up , play , forward etc..) and real good battery life, nice sound , etc ..
+1 for the MW600.
Cheap, works well... 3.5mm jack for your own headphones
I just bought the Sony HBH-IS800's. They sound great and I got them off Amazon for $60. Only downside is 4-5 hours of battery life.
I too am looking for a good, inexpensive bluetooth headset, but I think what I desire is impossible. I am looking for a bluetooth headset that has a FM tuner built in, and has 10+ hour battery life or uses traditional AAA batteries. Anyone have any leads whatsoever?
I wonder if this same topic is in the general forum..........

The closest you'll get to that is the Sony Ericsson MW600. Battery life is great but it doesn't use AAA batteries. It does have a good FM radio built in and you can use your own earbuds.
Kpjimmy's right, the MW600 is very good. You can't charge it and use it at the same time, but I get over 7 hours use on a charge. Sounds good plugged into a hifi as well as with headphones : )

Skullcandy earphones

I'm planning to buy new earphones [not headphones], from some store in mumbai, or via flipkart...so want some recommendations...
Things I'm looking for:
microphone inbuilt, so i can use them for calls (like the stock one)
better sound quality, compared to stock
medium/good length of cord (not too short, so that i can keep the phone in my jeans pocket, and still listen to music comfortably)
good enough build quality, something that can handle day-to-day use (i mean, they shouldnt be too delicate)
i would prefer skullcandy, but people lately have been complimenting senheiser also, so i'm confused...
i can just google for these features, but here's where my problem starts...
i have an apple ipod 3rd gen...and this one doesnt have any buttons on the ipod for music and volume control, the controls are present on the earphones!!
tried searching at a lot of places, but cant find any decent earphones which would work on both my devices...
even searched for "adapters", but most of them dont work with skullcandy earphones, or arent available in india atm (cant import)...
anyhelp with either the earphones, or the ipod adapter, or both, would be appreciated...
budget for earphones = 700-1300 INR (1$=55INR, atm)
I use Sennheiser earphones and am extremely satisfied with them..

The only thing they did lack was the mic thing you mentioned..
Its also worth mentioning that their customer service and all is outstanding.
}
Thats my opinion of sennheiser , from what i've heard Skullkandy is still the leader in this field, but you seriously should consider sennheiser.
Also if you're looking for bass, give Beats a try..
For the volume control thing try-
Mx- 580..
For how much did you buy mx 580 for? With all accessories?
You got warranty for how long?
Typed on a small touchscreen
Uh, I have the mx 170 that cost INR 500 not the mx 580 which you can get for INR 1500-1800..
Warranty is for two years.

awesome bass capability
smooth fitting
way too better than stock.....(guess wat u wont use dsp or any mod for better sound...its natural wid them.....but using dsp gives more life to them ...i use dsp at minimum )
the wire is long...
flat wire so no tangling
close your eyes and get them
Can you give me their model/make number?

They are the best ones out there!
Giving a small review/update on these...
So I finally bought a pair a few months back, but I am frankly really really disappointed with skullcandy...
I bought a one for around 1199 INR, and it left a lot to be fulfilled...
Utter disappointment, as I expected something way better than the stock earphones, but it was only nice in noise-isolation, and everything else was comparable to the stock samsung earphones that came along...
And the build quality is really delicate, I was very careful with them as dropping them could have broken them...
So disappointing that I sold them off to an acquaintance within 3 weeks...
I did gave skullcandy another chance, since shortly after that, I bought another different pair/model for 699 INR...
And this one is just plain horrible...
Low volume, no clarity at higher volume (as high as it could get), poor bass, no warranty card...all in all, I was worse off than before...
Only thing going for these ones was that they had *comparatively* better build quality, and were cheaper...
Been using this for two months, but unfortunately, one of the earpieces has stopped working...
No warranty, :crying::crying:
My review, skullcandy
Stay away if you can...
Stick to stock headsets, those aren't the worst pair...
well I feel skullcandy is overhyped to be frank
I always liked our stock headphones , more than the apple ones .

Apple normal earphones were better than the skullcandy in-ear types...
Used it with my iPod shuffle, and without any equalizer, the experience was horrible...
Haven't purchased the Apple new semi-in-ear earphones, anyone has them/tried them?

Headphones or in ear phones

Whats better? I cant decide which to buy. I am thinking about koss the plug, sennheiser cx200 ir sennheiser hd201

In the ear headphones will sound better. Completely better. Better sound will come out of the in the ear and if I'm not mistaken they are cheaper then headphones.

What can you say about Koss The Plug?
I'm sure you will like them. Reports are that they sound good and won't fall out easy. Good sound. There is not a carrying case included. Also they are said to be uncomfortable sometimes...my guess is after wearing them for a long while.
- hit my thanks button if i helped you -
Between those two the in ears are probably going to give you better sound than that particular pair or over ears. Keeping them in for extended periods will be kinda annoying though. If you want really good sound in over ears you will have to spend a little more. Probably closer to 50-60. The Samson SR850 are a great pair of lower end phones if you have a slightly higher budget.

I have a pair of monoprices, and I can attest to their quality. They easily kick the bajeebus out of any of your normal crap, including skullcandies, and factoring in price, easily beats (if I worked at a percentage, for 5% of the price I get 70-90% the quality), and anything within 2-40 dollars of that.
I can also attest to J3's, which have great bass and extremely clear mid and high ranges (you might need an equalizer to bring out the mid and high ranges though, the lower ranges tend to get amplified).
Also try burning in your buds. At worse nothing happens, at best you get way better sound.
It also depends how much volume level you like when listening music, and what kind of music you like.Inear have lower impedance thus they sound louder, and you have almost complete isolation from enverionment. But I think headphones sounds more natural, but not as loud as inear.I use inear when traveling, running, etc, and headphones at home.

I have beats tour (in ear) and solo hds (over ear) and I must say I prefer the compact in ear with noise cancellation. The sound quality seems better to me, but that's just me.
Sent from my Desire HD using xda app-developers app
In ear headphones are less healthy for your ears and you will notice it when you stop hearing properly. Yes they are cheaper, but I recommend you buying some over head phones. And about the plugs, I always end breaking the overhead cable that goes to the speaker, so I ended up buying the ones that has minijack plug in the speaker as well as in the cable.
I think the sound of headphone(fullsize type) is better than ear phone. Because sound space is larger(eardrum area+the outside). But It's not portable or bulky. If you often play sport or move, earphone is better. So, It depend on you.
I think Koss Porta Pro, senheiser hd201,hd202, soundmagic pl11 are good choices.
I'm using soundmagic pl11:good:

They discontinued that shortly after the phone came out.
What happened was they couldn't afford giving them out.
I got a pair from some guy on Atomic Mall for 50$! I got them fast and quick.

ive got 2 pairs of Urbeats and one set are really bassy and sound awesome, the other set which ive now found are fake are awful very weak bass.
I don't have a set of Urbeats, but iBeats...the ones that was included with HTC Rezound.
The bass is deep and tight with the Beats Audio function turned on.
Where did you purchase your Urbeats?
I have bought the new version of urBeats last week
http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B008EH7AFO/ref=noref/277-7196828-1712932?ie=UTF8&psc=1&s=ce-de
http://de.beatsbydre.com/ohrh%C3%B6rer/beats-urbeats/beats-urbeats,de_DE,pd.html
And they're awesome! Heavy but clean bass, clean mids and trebles, flat cable, straight plug, the earplugs are made of metal and the urBeats2 looks great
In addition to that the urBeats2 has a mic and a button to answer calls, but the buttons for volume up and down only work with iPod/iPad/iPhones..
I really recommend this headphone

Use the jays app from market to have full control :victory:
The first generation urbeats have been made especially for HTC Devices. You can see this on the package: "Compatible for with HTC Phones"
After a quick search, i found the manual for the urbeats2 and it says that there is only the middle button working.
There is a little app, with which you can test if the volume buttons are recognised by the phone at all, but i forgot the name of it.

I recently bought the Monster iSport Immersion headphones and I can say that I am impressed by the quality, maybe a tad better than the first beats.

[Q] Earphones

What earphones/headphones do you guys use with your oneplus one!?
I'm using the JayBird Bluebirds X bluetooth wireless headphones. They're awesome. For sure a little pricey, but the sound quality and fit is the best of any in-ear headphone I've tried. Plus I work out a lot, and 6 months on, they're holding up brilliantly.
http://www.amazon.com/JayBird-BlueBuds-Sport-Bluetooth-Headphones/dp/B00B6ZGSVI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1406202577&sr=8-2&keywords=bluebirds+x
Oh and paired with the Viper4Android app, they sound even better. Was a little disappointed with the stock EQ app on the OPO, but then again, it's probably sufficient for most people.
Heir Audio 8.A and sometimes the UE6000.
I have my old "beats" earphones that came with my old HTC phone. How do I make these work with other handsets? How can they lock these to certain types of phones?
Also using the Jaybird Bluebird X bluetooth in-ear headphones when working out, doing yard work or anything else that I might sweat with. Usually use my prior iPhone 5S headphones when I'm just lounging (they're actually pretty good), and if I need concentration or am traveling I use my Bose QC15. I haven't found the audio FX app to be a benefit to the sound of my music, so I keep it disabled.
