[Q] Upgrading from custom ROM to official Mango? How? - HTC 7 Pro

Hello,
I have a problem and I am afraid of bricking my HTC 7 Pro (PC92100 SS-BC).
The situation is, I have HSPL and custom mango DFT 7713 ROM (5)USA_HUN_CSY_PLK release).
Now ... what's the best method do get official Mango, without bricking my device? I suppose I should revert to Original SPL, then flash 7004 stock ROM and then upgrade via Zune. Is this right? Can you give me link and exact (verified) method how did you upgraded to offical Mango?
btw. probably there isn't any way to backup and transfer my SMS? Probably not, right?
Thanks in advance
Pajousek

You have to read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1013810 and choose ROM for your device (for not branding devices like yours: RUU_Gold_HTC_Europe_1.22.401.01_Radio_5.63.09.13_3 a_22.36.50.15U_by_ansar)

And won't it break anything? A lot of roms has written that if you have HSPL, it will totally damage your phone without any means to recovering it from bricked state.

I flashed that ROM many more times and all works good, but guaranted gives only producer. Everything you do for your risk.

And did you have HSPL? And did it remove it? And is that ROM completly _stock_ one, without any modifications? I can't find this info in the thread you posted. :/

I don't understand you ?
You want stock ROM and remove HSPL, yes ? I take the link with that ROM.
You ask, whether damage your phone ? I wrote you: I DON'T KNOW what you do with device and do not make a repo.
I wrote to you what I do with my device and whose ROM's I used. If you want guarantee from me that you not break your phone, I can only give it to you if you promise to sell him.

Now when i try load my backup i have still 7.1.7720 ,still locked!
Can anyone tell me what can i do?
Or can i flash another ROM?
Thanks a lot
If you can't restore to a version with a working unlock, flashing is your only option.
I have a similar problem - no unlock after the update (I was coming from NoDo via 7403, and it didn't even give me time to do anything inbetween). I haven't tried restoring yet.
Ok i accept this. Can you help me,which HSPL a ROM etc i need install?(i don't understand it all)
I'll send you all information, please help me
Sorry but I don't know... You don't have to go the HSPL route though, a stock ROM will do as well. The only problem is figuring out what went wrong any how to avoid the problem next time.
How can i found good stock Rom for my phone?
I have Htc trophy (Ge vodafone)
You have to go to your device forums here on xda, they'll help you out over there.

Any Way to Roll-Back to 7740 or 7720 from 8107 if I didn't Back-up First?!!

I installed the Mango 8107 update on my Samsung Focus S phone, using Heathcliff74's CAB's method, but I forgot to back-up my phone first. Now, I'm trying to install some themes that voluptuary posted, but they won't install unless I'm on 7740 or lower, and my only restore point/back-up is from today, with 8107 ALREADY installed!
Is there any way for me to revert my AT&T Focus S back to 7740 or 7720 WITHOUT having my back-up?!!
Thanks,
Dennis
I had the same issue a couple days back. I had 8107 and wanted 7720 to interop unlock it. Problem was I had no backup what so ever.
So what I did is I went to the phone specific forums and looked around for a Custom ROM (in my case) but originally I wanted to put a shipped 7720 ROM on there to interop unlock and update though Zune. Also looked for a tutorial on there.
In your case it should be in "Samsung Focus (S)" --> "Focus Windows Phone 7 Development".
As people in my question (nearly entirely the same as yours) answered it is only possible to revert back to an older version (if you dont have a backup) if you flash a shipped 7720 ROM.
(people in the phone specific forum will help you further im sure!)
Good luck
Yea, with out a custom rom, OEM rom or a backup your SOL. Sad to say...

For your (@ OP) case I would just recomment a shipped ROM (7740 or 7720) as this requires you to downgrade your bootloader just once.
If you want a custom ROM you need to perform a lot more actions (aka downgrading the bootloader way further) before you can install that, takes more time and is more risky (not saying "a lot" more but speaks for itself)

[Q] 7220 Unlocked -> 8107

Hi all, I have HTC Mozart with original 7220 ROM unlocked and with HSPL, can I update to 8107? Or is it going to brick my phone? I don't care if I loose unlock. And second question: which rom is in your opinion the best? There are so many I want rom that is fully unlocked, and the rest is intact - no custom boot screen, no preloaded themes, apps and whatever. Just clean 8107 rom with full unlock.. Is there any rom that fulfill this conditions. Thanks in advance.
Can anyone help?

Maybe you can find your solution reading Heathcliff74's thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1306415&highlight=gold.
You can find file for OS update from 7720 to 8107 and also HTC update...
And maybe some useful infos fom people that updated their device in this way.
I used some of this files to update my HTC Gold to 8107, starting from a 7720 ROM unlocked... And already able to deploy xap...

How do you revert to nodo?

I have an HTC HD7S and I was wondering how or if it was possible to revert it back to nodo.
If you have a NoDo backup saved on your computer from when you updated to Mango, jsut restore that. Otherwise, you'll need to find a stock ROM for your model of phone and flash that. I know there are a lot of stock ROMs for the HD7, hopefully the same is also true of the HD7S (they aren't interchangable though!!).
Out of curiosity, what's the goal here? There might be an easier way to do this.
goal
My goal here is to have the ability to flash the Deepshining rom and one of the steps in doing so is reverting to nodo. The whole reason im doing this though is because i originally wanted to put homebrew apps on my HD7S and when Chevron came out unsuccessful the alternative was flashing the Deepshining rom but it says I need to revert to nodo and even if I get that done I don't know if the HD7S can handle the rom because I havent seen any videos or threads detailing that it worked on one and didnt brick the phone.
You only need to downgrade the bootloader, not the full ROM. That will allow you to install HSPL, the unlocked bootloader for HTC devices. This in turn allows custom ROMs.
I'm sure there are custom ROMs for the HD7S, but they are definitely not interchangable with the custom ROMs for the HD7. You have to use the ROM specific to your hardware.
The NoDo ROM for the AT&T HD7S, if you still want it, is on the wiki (link at the top of the page, then go to the HD7, then Stock Roms).

Need a couple of questions answered

Hi I recently fixed my HTC HD7 after a few months because my phone locked itself for no reason and my SPL was 5.1xx =.=, I just downgraded it using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1597837. I used this rom to downgrade it "RUU_Schubert_hTC_Asia_SEA_WWE_1.54.728.01_Radio_5.51.09.29_22.32.50.10_Signed_SCHUBERT_RELEASE"
After so many updates that i missed I am now lost on what to do to my phone to get the lastest tango update. Please don't reply telling me to use the seach button because i've tried and I am not really good with this flashing phone stuff.
Can someone be kind enough as to link me and tell me instructions onto getting my phone back to an updated version.
My phone specs:
-HTC HD7
-SPL 3.xx
-Not full unlocked
-Not interop unlocked
-Nodo
I think my next step is getting a custom rom from DFT http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195647 but i can't seem to find the newest tango rom and what i should do to flash it on my phone.
Please help me !!:laugh::good:
The best place to get ROMs is from the phone-specific forums (in your case, the HD7 forums) here on XDA-Devs. You'll also need to install HSPA before you flash your custom ROM; the instructions to do that are on the WP7 Dev&Hacking sub-forum. Once you've got HSPL (make sure your bootloader version is right!!!) then you can install a custom ROM. The program to do this is called ROM Update Utility, commonly "RUU", and usually when you download a ROM it will come pre-packaged with RUU. If not, you can download something that doe come with RUU and replace the packaged ROM image files with the ones from your custom ROM.
