this morning i updated juice defender and i have hard time telling if it really is working or not
this was my setting and my result from before update;
x2.36; apn for 2min every 30min, leave apn enabled while>10kb/30s, keep apn disabled while battery's below 15%, leave apn enabled while screen on
after the update all settings are the same except now there's an option to turn on 3g only after the screen has been unlocked, which i have enabled and the widget is only showing about x1.3 or so
also every time i press the power button to unlock the screen, on the status bar, 3g is on already. before the update there was no 3g symbol on the bar until the screen came on.
so is juice defender working or not???
Did you run the juicedefender after the update?
After I updated mine, I re-opened the app and it did a scan in my phone.
I think it works perfectly fine... I managed a 20hours before charging my phone again.
I installed this for a customer and it was different, scanned the phone then told me there was no root access so it was limited. It then didn't seem to work, and the toggle APN widget didnt work either.

Yeah, I updated mine and the toggle APN widget died, but I re-attached it to my homescreen, and it's working now... I do kinda feel my battery life is not as good, but it's going to be different day to day anyway, so it's really hard to tell exactly.
BTW - did you notice there were 2 updates shortly after eachother. are you on 1.6.9 or 1.6.8
Ok, correction - the widget was working again, but it's certainly not now...
update - it's been few days now and i think it's working fine (i think)
i mean the x number widget isn't at just 1.00 any more, although it is pretty erratic - sometimes and x2+ sometimes x1.8ish and such
o well, the battery seems to drain less now, maybe that quick second update fixed some issues, thx all
I went back to the old version. I think it's better.

For me the updated version works as good as the old version. During the night Juicedefender turns 3G of which results in 0% drain. Using Juiceplotter I see just a straight horizontal line during the night.
It seems to me that the new version forces a full phone auto-sync at the prescribed interval of 15min. So i have a few accounts on my phone, 1 is an exchange email work account. I only have it set up to sync once a day as I really don't' need immediate email notification but want my calender in sync for the next day.
Since the new version came out it sync's every 15min! this is very annoying as the old version did not seem to do that. I have disabled juice defender and its back to normal. sync once a day.
Does anyone know how to disable the auto-sync? This used to be a great app.
Same problem here. Syncing when off works fine (1 set it to 1 hour), but everytime I turn on the screen it forces a full sync. This eats all my battery and I'm *not* happy with JuiceDefender.
Anyone got a solution by now?

Anyone else is having this problem too?
After being a long time in idle, when I turn my XL on, the clock is delayed to the last time it was before turning it off, and it takes like 4 or 5 seconds to update, or sometimes it doesn't do it until I rotate the phone in landscape mode. This is really annoying because is affecting the alarm too. I don't know if Stamina mode is doing something with this (I have it activated all the time), but I need to fix it. I put the clock app in the white list on Stamina with no results.
Currently using Android 4.2.2, but this happened in 4.1.2 too.
Yes, everyone is having this problem, this is caused by the stamina mode indeed.
No way to fix this until now i guess... They might fix in the next firmware, along with other bugs noticed in 4.2

Yeah, I realized this making more tests with Stamina off. Too bad because Stamina is actually effective to save energy.
Actually even in 4.1 Stamina here gives more problems than it should. Things like the notification light not blinking and several other bugs, I use no battery saving options.

Yeah, I had troubles with missing led blinks for my notifications too.
What I do for saving battery is turning my connections off manually. Also, killing apps constantly and freezing other unused apps with Titanium Backup kinda helps.

OK this is for avoiding clock delay, but does it make notifications to work correct too?

Hi, I'm worried about my bad battery life. Any ideas what it causes or how to improve?
I'm on latest Carbon Rom (Android 4.4.2), Now activated, Hotword detection off.
Logs and Screenshots: see attachment
I don't get it. You have 1 day 9 hour usage and 1 hour 42 screen time. Your screen time is low but your usage is quite a while, better than mine. Could be bad signal, you have 1 bar in all the screenshots posted. Try turning off sync or mobile data when not in use.
It's a combination of poor signal and gps settings.
Switch location mode to Device only and get us an overnight BBS log.
System UI is unusually high. I can only assume this is customized UI elements draining the battery. Google services are 2nd on your list so locations and auto syncs, among other things.
When you're getting normal battery life Screen should be at the top. Anything draining more than Screen you need to look into.

Actually, he charged the phone (look at the first picture above the number 26 ) and as result, it was less than 1 day, 9h.

any ideas? someone?
Hi,
I see systemui is at the top of the list in all your screens. Are you using "pocket mode" or lockscreen notifications? I had the same issue on Mahdi rom and it went away when i disabled "pocket mode"
Are you running a custom kernel?
Some general battery saving tips are :
-Lower your brightness (i have mine set at 20%)
-Download "Wakelock Detector" and "Greenify" from playstore. These 2 apps will solve any wakelock problems.
-Turn Google Location Reporting and Location History off.
Sometimes a simple reboot does wonder for your phone.
Everybody has their own best combo of ROM + kernel so it will be up to you to find what works for you.
I'm currently running Mahdi's ROM + Elementalx and get 4 hours of screen time, 4 hours of music playback (from SD card) and 20+ hours of standby time

Hi, yes I'm using pocket mode. Too bad that it's drains this much battery! I love this feature
to me it looks as you having terrible wifi. and since you left the wifi on, your terrible signal drained the battery.

Try turning off the feature for a day and see if it improves your battery life any.
I'm also a big fan of the pocket mode feature and s2w/dt2w features because i hate reaching for the power button but it killed my battery.
What i can suggest to you is to try an app called Gravity Screen by one of our very own xda developer. Somehow, he managed to get the turn screen on/off via proximity sensor to barely drain any battery. I use this app combined with Dynamic Notifications and every time i take my phone out of my pocket, i get notifications like the Moto X and screen on without power button.
Best of luck!
flash back to stock & change tamper flag, and get an exchange. I found out that the earlier models have some with batt and radio problems

Confirmed. Pocket Mode killed my battery, too. Since I deactivated it, my battery life is acceptable.

Anyone else seeing this? I googled it and seems other people have been seeing it. My will jump ahead by 6 hours, if I reboot its fine again. Any fixes for it?
The only thing that springs to mind is that your Date & Time settings are wrong. Have you checked your time zone is correct? Have you switched on Automatic Date & Time?
My N5 Marshmallow loses time
I've seen this since I updated to Marshmallow. My N5 steadily loses time. Rebooting fixes it, but it starts again.
Googling, I found others with the same issue. One of the fixes suggested - of disabling Battery Optimisation for apps that work with the clock - worked for me and for a week my N5 kept perfect time.
Today after some apps autoupdated, it's started losing time again - 2 minutes in the last hour. I have to figure out the offending app and disable Battery Optimisation for it.
It's frustrating, because I like Battery Optimisation. It improves my battery life unbelievably. But losing time is not acceptable, as I rely on my phone notifications for appointments and calls.
I hope Google releases an update soon.
It looks like its an old bug so I wouldn't hold my breath.
Anyone else has this? In automatic brightness mode it keeps on fluctuation randomly: https://youtu.be/cySme6BFodQ
Any way how I can solve this? Thanks.

Try going to the display settings and switching on anti-flicker.
It could also be a problem with your screen protector if you're using one.
Thank you. I turned on anti flicker but no difference. Everything worked fine before Android 10 with the same screen protector.
it changes brightness even tho the light around you didnt change?
Yes that is correct.
The last system update fixed the issue.
Vivo firmware 8.10.1
Automatic brightness brewery all the time to manual for me... It's boring and horrible.
No new update here... Then nothing is fixed.
Actually I will make a macro to check if automatic brightness is on, if brightness =!on then switch automatic brightness =on with a repeat value like 10/15 minutes...
Wait for a fix
Hello I received an update to version 8.10.5 yesterday there is an improvement in the automatic brightness processing logic that could solve the problem. Battery performance improves 25% after 10 hours.
@siegie65
Thx for feedback, i will wait patiently update because i become crazy, and battery improvement can be resurrection of mobile.
Cheers
How did you get the update?
@RicksonNL
I think they push update by wave like all the time to stop if bug appear. Maybe you are like in last wave... ? ?
Hello update came OTA but I have to say that I have the Chinese version PD1805 A if you have the international PD1805 F I don't know if and when an update will come.
Answer from Vivo Global: The version is under grayscale test, you will get it in the near further.
