I think he saying 2.3.3 might potentially fix bad signal because his GSM version gets worse signal on 2.3.4
Ahh yes, I get it now.

In another post, I wiped and installed 2.3.4 grj06d last night and am going to try it for a while to see if I notice any improvement in performance. That's the version that was installed out of the box. I try to ignore the nag notification to update but it does get annoying. Most of you already know this I assume. Ns4g.
NS4G is only supported in Android since GRJ06D (2.3.4_r0.9). 2.3.3 does not exist for this device.

Yea, we know that. He doesn't have a 4g and probably doesn't know that.

His first sentence states there is no 2.3.3 build for the 4G so he knows.
Ah, so it does

I hate that the nexus s and nexus s 4g have such similar names! It leads to questions like the following.
Has the android 2.3.5 update been released for the standard Nexus S? I mean the non 4g one.

ive been wondering the same thing
Yea, I'd like to know the same aswell
No, it was only a fix for the sprint 4g reception issues, nfc and other bugs at this time.

There are some other improvements mentioned that may apply to GSM devices such as the speakerphone fix, enabling the secure element for NFC (Google wallet support), improved wifi connectivity (perhaps not isolated to CDMA devices) and TTY support. The 2.3.5 changes are being pulled into the CM build per a G+ post.
I don't expect an imminent OTA for GSM devices, but some of the AOSP changes (not baseband related) could be helpful for GSM devices.
Edit: Maybe it will OTA at some point in the near future: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16015703&postcount=7

i noticed faster data connection,
i use to get H once in a wile, but now i notice it more, but still most of the time it's 3g
wifi works perfectly no problems
i never had gps issues, my phone always locked with in a second or 2
and with this ROM it does the same thing, it locked my location within 2 seconds
it also uses the new Market
try it, you can always revert back if you don't like it you can always restore your backup
but remember this is still beta
Whats the link for Rom?

Hard to answer because "out" is rather vague. There are not different Androids for different phones. The main gingerbread code is at version 2.3.5 and can be built for NS or NS4G or many other phones. But it has not been sent by Google to any phones besides NS4G.

I have a NS4G and have not been sent the code from Sprint yet. Shouldn't I have had it already?

I assume you mean the OTA and not the code. If you mean the OTA, it will roll out over several *weeks*. It is flagged by IMEI/ESN - once you are set for an update any subsequent checkin will yield the OTA notificaiton. Until then you will not see it.

You may need to enter your APN settings. By 4G do you mean LTE or HSPA+? Because you should get HSPA normally, or else something went wrong while flashing.

Anyone do it yet? Was really wanting to go with Lollipop but a few of the AT&T crap including the Signal Bars is so annoying!
Ive done build prop changes before on Samsung phones to change this, anyone do this on there D850?
There are options for this if you're rooted and have xposed installed. You lose the "false" signal bars that AT&T does to show more signal than you really have though I think.

@hyelton could you change the 4g/LTE icon? I followed the instructions to change build.prop and any of the combinations worked. for me. D855P, Lollipop Stock V20I + root.

What do you mean? If you have a D855 there should be no reason to change it as you should already have them.

The method I was using was to remove the AT&T 4G/LTE icons. To make it like the international versions as the AT&T version has completely different ones.
You could try using CA as the region to get LTE

@hyelton I already did it. I tried the following:
ro.build.target_county: CA
ro.build.target_operator: TLS
ro.build.target_county: US
ro.build.target_operator: TMO
I rebooted my phone, check the build.prop, changes already were there, but I have the same 3G , 4G icons. It never changed to LTE or 4GLTE Icon. Any suggestion?

Maybe it's not actually saving? Some build.prop tools don't actually change right. Maybe try another tool?

did you get solution to your problem.. I am having thesame issue too..
I do know for a fact that I am getting lte because when I installed CM rom lte symbols comes back...But for stock or cloudyg3 rom, I only get the 3G,H, and 4G symbol
all you need is to change build.prop carrier to "TLS" and the coutry code to "CA" and it will have 3g/4g/LTE icons
you can use root explorer. mount r/w then long press build.prop, open with text editor and then edit as said above. it will save a copy of original automatically in case you need to restore the original.
