Sensation Random Shutdowns - HTC Sensation

Hello, earlier today i unplugged my sensation from the chrager a few minutes later, random shutdown, then i tried to turn it back on it stayed on for a few minutes but my battery dropped from 30% to 5% just now i took out my sd card and the problem vanished does anyone suggest i should format my sd card or should i try another ROM? i also have SD card from my galaxy S im thinking about putting that in and seeing if it shuts down

it definitely sounds like you need to format your sd card.
being that the roms and probably some apps are stored on it and thats where you pull them from to install could be why you have such instability.
try formatting it then try your other card.

SD card dismounting on its own?

I just got my Inspire in the mail today and have been using it for about 5 hours. The phone has "lost" the sd card twice since then. I'll be using it and all of the sudden an error message will appear saying "can not read sd card, please dismount before ejecting" I then have to take the bottom part off and eject the card and put it back in and let the phone find it again. Anyone else run into this?
Yes, I've had this happen to me a few times already.
Me too... for the record, Im using a sandisk 16gb
Mine was doing this too. I took it back and swapped it and haven't had a problem since
No problem here with my 32GB.

[Q] Damaged external sd card ?

Hey,
I have had my infuse for almost a month now. It has only been altered by changing out a 16 gb sd card for the stock 2 gb, and the Regina launcher. When it starts to slow down, I power it down (about once a week). When I power it up again, it won't read the sd card and says its damaged. If I pull the card and replace it (sometimes it takes a couple of tries) it will start reading it again.
This is a pain since I keep it in the super snug otter box case. Any idea what I should do? This happened with my moms infuse as well and she has the stock sd card.
Thanks,
Rachael

Plug it into your computer and backup everything on the SD card to your computer. Format the external SD card in FAT format. Be selective about what you copy back to teh SD card after formatting. In the DCIM folder, there should be a thumbnails folder. Delete that folder. Pics will take a while to load the first time as the Gallery rebuilds thumbnails.
This used to happen a lot on my old G1. Hasn't happened since that phone though.. weird.. just noticed that...

Restarting the phone while charging, bad?

If I restart my phone while it's plugged in to the wall charger would it be bad for the battery or the phone? I did notice after like 2 or 3 times of doing this the battery seem go down alot faster even while idling.
Also, I'm having problem with the "SDcard unexpectly remove" error when ever I try to extract/download or move large files around. I would get the message and lost access to my SDCARD until i take the sdcard out and reinsert it or restart the pone. Any1 know a fix?
If it help any i'm using INSERT COIN version 5.1.1 with ICS.
I don't think it'll cause any physical problems. The battery going down quick is probably due to the battery stats being a bit messed up and then re-adjusting to the real level.
Try backup the contents of your SD Card, format it and then copy the contents back and put it back in.
Don't think so.
If it was harmful my Sensation should be death now did it so many times! No failure so far.
That won't damage your phone. The only caution I take when charging the phone is do not play, because my phone burns when do it.
Thanks for your input guys. I feel alot better now. I'l also try formating that sd card.

Battery is being pummeled

Sometime yesterday, my GS3 just started eating battery. Haven't installed or reconfigured any in the past few days. I did use the DNLA functionality for the first time over the past couple of days.
I've rebooted. I've pulled the battery. Nothing is helping. So I charged overnight and rebooted about 85 minutes ago at 100% battery. I have not used the phone in those 85 minutes. I'm down to 88%.
Under battery details, it shows "Media" using 39% with 20 minutes of CPU time and 36 minutes stay awake. And "sdcard" is using 37% with CPU time at 18 minutes.
I've already had to reset this phone once and I'm not doing anything aggressive (stock rom, rooted just to use Titanium). Having to reset this again would be a real pain in the rear end. What is wrong with this phone?
There is a good chance you may have a bad battery. My friends had the same problem
Try reformatting your sd card. May be some corrupted cache or something. A full fat 32 reformat should clear it up.

Thanks. Any idea how to do that? It doesn't look like there's a straight forward way to do it. After searching, it looks like even a factory reset (which I don't want to do but will if I have to) doesn't reformat the card...

Settings>storage>format or put it in your computer and format it that way
I was also having HORRIBLE battery life. Turned out to be the crappy Facebook app. Task was killing the CPU, thus the battery. Uninstalled Facebook, and all is well now.

I don't have that option. I'm not using the SD card slot, so the SD card that's having issues is the internal SD card.

Nevermind. Looks like formatting the internal card is not something you want to do. This phone is going to go back. Hopefully will have better luck with the next one.

32gb sd card stops being detected in android and pc

My sd card was working perfectly upon till last night when my batery died, I plugged in my charger and turned on the phone and walked away. About 5 mins later I returned to find my charger unplugged amd my s2 off (dead battery), upon restarting again I realized that my sd card is not being detected.......
My bet is that when it was in the process of the 1st boot up and the memory card was loading the charger was unplugged accidentally and the phone shut off cause the sd card to crash!!
Can someone help me!!!! So many important stuff on that sd card.
Pc doesnt detect it either so I cant get to format. And im unable to mount it with the phone
