Hi everyone,
I recently went to a trip to some US national parks equipped with my Transformer and my Lumix camera to take pictures.
I wanted to use my Transformer to empty the sd card of the lumix, and share pictures with my friends and family (through picasa for example).
However, when trying to do so, two things failed :
- Connecting the Lumix to transformer through USB interface (both modes : PC and "ptp" didn't work).
- directly connecting the Lumix's SD card to the transformer slot.
Is this normal ? Is there a workaround to these issues ?

No... I don't think this is normal. I'm not sure which Lumix model you have, but I have a Lumix DMC-ZS8, and mine connects just fine to my TF. I made sure my Lumix was turned on, then plugged in the USB cable to the camera, then inserted the USB cable into my TF. The TF mounts it and then I am able to open the contents of the SD card, and view the pictures on it. I have both a B50 dock, and Transformer. I suspect the problem may be with your SD Card. What type is it? Mine is a PNY 4GB Class 4 card. I wish you luck!
Just to answer my own question, this was simply a file system problem. I formatted my SD card to FAT32 using a PC. Then shot a photo using the lumix, and the SD card then mount on the transformer allright.
A card formatted by the Lumix seems to use a weird file system unrecognized by the Transformer.

Need some help with this. I have a trail camera for watching deer in the woods. It has a SD card adapter with transflash card in it to record the photos on. I have an android phone with transflash card. But if I swap them out I lose my custom ringtones I have set up for everyone. Is there some way I can get those photos onto my cell phone without having to bring the trail camera home and download the photos?

Only Way I Can Think Of Is To Connect To Your Computer For Transfer, Either That Or Email Them To Yourself, Then Go To Email From Your Phone! Also I Would Recommend Making A SDCard Backup On A Computer, In Case Of Losing Files, Say (Ringtones)
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
What I was thinking was a male to male mini usb cable. But I guess the phone doesn't have the drivers to read from another usb device.

What if you just copy the custom ringtones to the internal memory of your phone with a file manager, swap the cards and then copy them back to the card?
Hi
Quick question. So I want to transfer a video file from the computer to my EEE pad. Where does it get transferred to?
When I connect my EEE pad to my computer via the USB cable it seems only to recognise the SD card and not the internal storage. I want to be able to transfer my video to the internal storage.
Is that actually possible?
When you tether the TF to your PC via USB, the /sdcard folder is the internal memory.
That's correct, the removable SD card is referred to as the MicroSD.

If you take the micro SD card out and then connect it will transfer to main memory.
At least thats what happened to me when trying to transfer music and the SD card wasn't ....couldn't be read. Bad card I believe because my phone couldn't read it either and couldn't format it. I'll find out when I take it back tomorrow.
Hi,
i connect an external card reader to the dock, but TF can't detect. but if i connect an external HDD, TF can detect...is it suppose to be like that? FYI, i used 2 different card readers with CF card, both same results, nothing...
thx

i dont think tf101 supports card readers. Most of the card readers are meant for x86-64 devices. They need nec. drives to be operational. And i dont think tf101 have those.
Alternate solution:
use USB memcards or sdhc/mmc cards. btw there are direct usb adapters such as: http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=205835524&listingid=30785815 that works. I tried those and it worked but i dunno if they exist for CF cards.
I recently Purchased the Asus External USB and External Card Reader. Both work excellent. My Question when using either external adaptor with a hard drive or sd card all files are easily accessed with the file manager but No Files (Pictures,Music,Movies) will sync with any Apps Like it does with the Micro Sd Card. Am I missing something or is there a walk around for this?
Hello,
New to Android and new to this forum. I have my TF700T two weeks now and I'm glad I bought it. My target is to copy the content of my Compact Flash cards (16GB each - from my DSLR) to a portable hard drive. Therefore I tried to connect both a card reader and a portable hard drive via an auto-powered USB-hub to the only usb-connection of my tablet. I even tried with another hub and even with a third hub. The only result was that my tablet only found the first device that was connected (regardless wich one: the CF-card or the HD) with the hub and not both at the same time, so copying from the CF-card to the drive isn't possible in one step. Sure I can copy the CF-card to the internal memory of the tablet and in a second pass move it to the HD, but that is very time-consuming.
Anyone who knows how to connect more then one usb-device at the same time via a powered USB-hub and do a file transfer between them? Your help is greatly appriciated.
You can use wi fi transfer to do it with a file manager, like file expert.

@tbtaf: When on vacation or on a photo trip I only have that portable hd, my tablet and a powered usb hub. I think a Wifi appraoch is not applicable then. Or am I missing something?
Sounds like you need to setup a second mount point for the additional device - don't know if that can actually be done or not, but I do know that some people who could not even connect the first device were able to manually specify the device by mounting it in a terminal window.
I'm not sure 100% on the code, but let me try to find out.
Or you could copy the 16 Gb CF card onto the pad's internal memory (or external MicroSD card), disconnect it, connect the HD and then copy it out again.

He already mentioned, he doesn't want to do this, he wants to copy straight.
For now, it's not possible since the powered hub or non power hub unable to recognize 2 devices at the same time.
CF, now there's nostalgia if anything. I thought those became outdated over 3 years ago... Fact is the CF is hardly compatible with mobile devices these days.
No, you can't copy from an external cardreader directly onto an external HDD through your tablet. It can only read 1 storage device in the USB port. Multiple devices works, but multiple storages doesn't. Some people have had some success with USB Flashdrives/Pendrives instead of HDD's though. You could try that.
You can copy from an SD to HDD easily though, so you could consider using an SD with a CF adapter if your camera has no SD slot. (SD's have the added advantage that the pins can't bent.)
