[Q] Install dual custom ROM on Android devices - General Questions and Answers

can we install dual custom ROM on android devices?.

On Android, the story is different. ... But dual boot is still very much possible on Android, even if not quite as mainstream. Luckily, we have come up with different ways to get your device to run two Android ROMs – or even different operating systems

Need help installing stock OS/ROM onto unknown branded tablet.

I have a tablet that is branded by a small company, it came free with a subscription. It is a 2016 8" android tablet at v5.1.1, it starts up with their logo and apps installed.
I want to remove this and install a stock normal version of Android, I understand this is the site to find ROMs but for specific devices. Problem is I don't think this is any known device and is custom specced and built by this company.
Is there a ROM I can use for this tablet? or is there any details I can give so we can narrow down a suitable ROM?
Thanks

Download Android One

Hi for all. I want download android one, more simple possible, without many apps. where can I get it? I have a Samsung. thanks.
Android One is a series of smartphones that runs unmodified Android, I don't think that's possible.
You can however flash a custom ROM to your device, AOSP would be nearest one to what you want but you'll have to check if it is available for your specific phone model, every Samsung is different and even one model can have slight variations (e.g with/without NFC) so be wary of that when searching for custom ROM

Move if needed , dual boot or multi rom possibilities

Would there or is there any possible way to dual boot two os on this phone I have used it in many other android devices

A Custom ROM for 'Moorefield' (Dell Venue 8 7840)

First let me say; I am not a developer. I do not work in the software industry and I have no experience writing code. At home I do run a dual boot system (Kubuntu 20 & Windows10) and I have previously successfully installed LineageOS on a couple of older devices (a Dell Streak 7, Samsung Galaxy S4 and more recently a Nokia 6.2). So, I have a rough idea on how to accomplish an install if there's a clear path toward the goal lol.
I have a (rooted, unlocked) Dell Venue 8 7840 running Android 5.1 and I'd like to see if I can load a custom ROM to update to maybe Android 7. I realize a 5 year old tablet (with Intel Atom Z3580/2.3 GHz quad-core) won't likely be capable of running anything as recent as even Android 10. But this device seems to be a unicorn of sorts. That is, I can find no mention of codename 'moorefield' on any developer message board threads.
How can I support development of a custom ROM for my device? I have used ADB before and can provide copies of any files that might be needed for creation of so-called "proprietary blobs". I find it confusing and misleading that; in order to build a custom ROM someone needs to have previously written one for you device.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can proceed?
I have the same device and the same questions. Everytime I go to get rid of the device I pick it up and fall in love with it again. I still haven;t found a device that is better weight and size wise. I would love to use for a different purpose but Anroid 5.1 holds it back.
How did u rooted the device

Question Any custom roms avaible?

Hello and good day everyone,
I am facing alot of unfamiliar behavior because of the Chinese Rom also i can`t install the Global Rom as per the Nubia Tech support.
So i decided to root my device and install a custom rom that i can do everything i want as per my older android devices.
I looked on many sites but i didn`t find any repo i can install it on my device!
Does anyone know of Custom Rom that is support on Red Magic 7 Pro????
The device just launched globally and there isnt even a TWRP build yet.
You will need to wait quite a while, even then, this is a very niche device and might never get a custom rom.
That's unfortunate news for me!!!!
The device is one of the best I have ever used,
But the Android system they installed on it is Bull......
That's something i'm very concerned over, I wouldn't want to purchase a device that doesn't have any custom roms available , I much prefer clean stock android or pixel experience roms , it's concerning to consider this phone may be stuck with only firmware updates from the official manufacturer, I also tried looking for older models from redmagic and they also seem to have very minimal to no custom roms,
I don't trust redmagic with keeping up to date with android judging by how older models also not getting any firmware updates to android 11,12,13...
I am personally holding off from buying this phone because of this factor , likely will end up buying a different phone if something more interesting will release from a more known manufacturer with better custom development community
Actually, this device is not compatible with Twrp.
We have to wait a long time to see a custom rom.
