Volume boost app - T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide

I downloaded my purchase version of the volume boost app however it doesn't work properly like it did with the G2.
When I activate the volume app it does boost the volume but the quality is horrible its not the same as when I turn off the volume booster.
Anyone have any idea what's going on? It works perfectly on the G2, it boost the volume and keeps the same audio quality.

Play around with the settings. My Volume+ app is working perfectly on my Sense on Crack 5.0.0 ROM.

Another vote for Volume+. Without it I couldn't get by with this phone. Audio is simply way to low stock.

The free or paid version?

I tried the free version and it goes up to setting 5 which was almost good enough but then I paid for it and now I run mine at level 7. It just depends on how loud you want it. I wouldn't go any higher than 7 though.

Do you use stock ROM? I've looked at Volume+ in the market and it states upfront they do not recommend using it with a stock ROM, only CM7. I have no desire to replace the stock ROM (though I am rooted).

[Q] best rom avaliable for inspire ?

hi i just purchased a inspire yesterday and had a captivate before hand. going to root my phone and wondered what people here think is the best rom for this phone ??
I really liked CoreDroid a lot and used it for a week or so then switched to cyanogenmod7 for a few days. Definitely prefer CoreDroid over cm7. Now I'm running LeeDrOiD and think I may prefer this over the other two.
Just find a few you like and try them out for a while. You'll figure out which is best for you

What do you like about leedroid? I saw it has a larger speaker boosts... are the notifications noticeably louder? Give me your low-down on LD
If you want no frills and solid, snappy performance and response...I highly recommend Ingersol ROM.
Maybe its cause I'm older, but I really dig that ROM.
i use to run cognition on my captivate it was a pretty good rom
I like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1033434 its also the only GB rom specifically built for the inspire 4g but it doesnt have some of the cooler stuff but its got insane speed
I've only been using LeeDrOiD for a few hours so I can't say much. Initially everything appears to maintain the stock sense look without the graphic tweaks from CoreDroid. Battery seems a little better with LeeDrOiD but it's still too early to tell.
My first LeeDrOiD flash ended up with me stuck in a force close loop that I attribute to my own mucking around in the build properties file. I reflashed and it seems fine so far but I haven't rebooted yet after reinstalling my apps.
I went with LeeDrOiD because it seems to have more under the hood tweaks and optimizations that I like. If this isn't satisfactory ill probably be back to CoreDroid.
As far as audio, it seems about as loud as cm7. CoreDroid was louder if I remember rightly and my ears don't deceive me. That may just be from different test sounds though. Seems plenty loud on LeeDrOiD though.
EDIT: Just did some more test listening to LeeDrOiD.. seems about the same as I remember CoreDroid being. I've also rebooted the phone the the force close loop is not there. Must have been my own fault before, thankfully.

Bubby's one click is what I used. Quick and easy, but you need to follow the instructions TO THE LETTER. 99% of the issues people have with bubby's program is because they skip, tweek or misunderstand steps.

Yes. This. Watching the YouTube video also helps a lot. Even for the more experienced users its a good thing to even check out. There are small little steos, like closing out of the terminal app on the phone with the back button, that may go overlooked.

I made a gold card using the SimpeGoldCard GUI and then used Bubby's tool.
ROM: RCMix 5.9x series (with Sense, but has 'extra' to go senseless). It's also CWM enabled for OTA updates now.
sense isnt to bad as a launcher i used touchwiz before cause of the captivate. way more steps to root compared to it. but as long as you follow the steps its all good
think I might switch from captivate to inspire. what's the main difference, OP?

i like it so far. got more ram then the captivate. more gingerbread roms then the cappy from what i scene. rooting is more difficult but if you follow the developers directions is pretty easy. the one problem i have is removing the batter cover and sim card its a pain in a butt lol. but i would consider it a upgrade compared to the cappy. of course the sgs2 may come to att so u may wanna wait for that if your upgrading the phone.
CM7 or anything based on it in my opinion, but I hate every manufacturer UI.

[Q] Gingerbread 2.3 ROM's Question

Can anyone running one of the Gingerbread ROM's tell me if it has the HAC (Hearing Aid Compatibile) option, it's in "Settings" under "Call" in the stock ROM. According to HTC support it has been fixed in 2.3 (Doesn't work in 2.2) and I would like to use it with my hearing aids if in fact it does work.

Hmm... Im running 2.3.2 and I don't see it. If someone can point me to where it is (if it's even there), Id be happy to test it for ya.
I am running Inspired Saga v1.1 with Gingerbread, and there is no such setting under "Settings -> Call."
Thanks fellows, the tech support at HTC told me it would be in the upcoming Gingerbread update for the Inspire and I was just wondering if it was already in some of the ones we have now. Evidently not Thaks for looking.
capman231
One thing to check would be if HAC is enabled in build.prop, I bet it is not on these ROMs.
Sent from my A500 using XDA Premium App
In the Build.Prop It is "htc.audio.hac.enable=1". My guess is 1= on, but that is just a guess. The HAC works great on incoming calls but the caller can't hear me at all

That is what I thought. I know the 2.3 ROMs have the option but I seem to remember it set to zero. I would check it but I am on the new Froyo update.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA Premium App
I think that the Inspire is the only HTC phone that has HAC but I haven't been able to prove it. HTC support says that the problem is in the ROM and has been fixed in the upcoming gingerbread update. I asked the tech if the software on the phone was actually developed for the Inspire and he said he couldn't answer that, but he did say that the upcoming update was developed from the ground up for this phone. I think a lot of the problems that people are complaining about is due to HTC piecing together a ROM from their other phones. The Inspire has a different radio and a different audio chip than any of the other phones and most of the complaints I have heard can be traced back to either the radio or the audio.
I just checked mine and its set to 0
htc.audio.hac.enable=0
Im on Inspired Saga v1.1

Just installated....the process was very quick.Everything looks fine.I will come back after setting all my apps.
Interesting, I've been looking for a Sense ROM with low battery drain and decent speed, I'll give this a go.
I thought bluetooth was not possible to fix on G1 Sense ROMs?
PS. Hmm it has been sat at the HTC screen for over 30 minutes now. Is this normal?

Another error. There is no (some?) audio support, no ringtones work, no soundtrack on videos.
EDIT: "Battery Low" sound and dial pad tones work fine, so it's just the ringtones, notifications, and intermittent video audio tracks that are the problem at the moment.

One thing that may cause issues is not having the requirements stated in the OP. Make sure your sdcard is partitioned correctly and that you are on the new Radio and SPL.

I am using a T-Mobile G1, and have definitely got the new radio & spl combo as i installed them firstly to use cm6 2708 port then froyo by laszlo. Everything on the sd is partitoned correctly, i think the initial install problem was just a hiccup as it is definitely stable after i rebooted once more. Also im not sure why but the A2SDGUI app stated swap was disabled, is this just a display error or should i set it to on with the app?
Sorry if i sounded somewhat disappointed in my posts, just been after a near as perfect as possible sense rom for a while .

Found a Working 2-Way Call Recorder (No Speakerphone Junk)

Finally, after an exhaustive search, I've found a working solution for 2-way call recording on the Skyrocket (no beeps too!). If you're lost in the sauce looking for this very thing, take a look at my thread in the Development Section for all the juicy details..
You need to be rooted with CWM Recovery already flashed, and understand how to flash .zip files in CWM..

No offense, but speak for yourself.. CallRecorder does not function straight out of the box on the AT&T Skyrocket. This is likely due to AT&T's "special" implementation of the API.
I'm glad it works for you, but you're not the only one with a Skyrocket. Don't just look at a screenshot and assume you know the whole story..

Call recorder works for me but I'm using Sky ICS. I use to use total recall(need speaker phone though). Then I moved onto sipdroid. It records both sides of conversation without speaker phone. But by far the best( for me) is callrecorder using Sky ICS.

You're right! In fact, Sky ICS is what gave me this idea. I knew it was possible for a while, but I just wasn't sure how until I did a little reverse engineering. This uses the same tools basically, but it works on a number of different ROMs.. No ball and chain, you see.
I'm going to put the instructions out there for public consumption relatively soon. I'm just gathering information to see if there's any ROMs or kernels this doesn't work on.

Listen: The newer versions of Callrecorder (like the one you so graciously provided) don't work on the AT&T Skyrocket for some reason without modifying certain system libraries. Look as the posts above; I said the same thing to nacos. It's not a humongous discovery or anything, but for those people who don't want to or know how to mess around in the root folder structure, it's a working solution didn't exist before.
I paid for the app in Android Market now that I'm sure the newer versions work, but I sincerely appreciate you loaning me your copy to test the modifed libraries with. When I update the OP, I'll be sure to credit you. We cool?
Yeah we good. Just saw this thread right after i gaved it to you so that was my thoufht. I really dont take credit for it as i just found that online.

I know this thread is old, but since I just had to get this installed and setup, thought I'd share:
For a stock ICS Skyrocket, CallRecorder https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skvalex.callrecorder&hl=en Ver: 1.3.1 works. The previous versions indicated in this thread do not.
To get it working, you have to set it to Record Calls From: Standard Android API
-and-
under Standard Android API preferences, select: Audio Source --> Voice call uplink + downlink.
That's it. The other settings are optional.
this worked on Stock AT&T ICS, 4.0.4, Kernel 3.0.8, Baseband I727UCLF6. Sound is good.
Do you guys know how to get the dialer-call-recorder on RUXLF3 / Stock Rogers ICS ?
What if you are still running the old, stock gingerbread (UCLA3)? I installed CR last summer and it ran flawlessly until I had to reset my phone last week. Now I can't get it to record both sides of my phone conversations.

[Q] Long pressing menu key doesn't bring out keyboard?

Hi. I recently installed an app called GameKeyboard that would replace the Android keyboard with a D-Pad and configurable buttons so I could play flash games made for PC. However, I was noticing that when I was in the game, holding down the menu key wouldn't pull it out. Then I switched back to the normal Android keyboard, and that doesn't appear when I long hold menu either.
My dad has a ZTE Blade and it pulls out the current keyboard selected when holding down menus, so is there an option somewhere that allows me to turn that functionality on or off, or is this just downright disabled in our devices?
Thanks for your time.
