[Q] Losing Internet and WiFi occasionally?? - HTC Inspire 4G

First off if this is the wrong place i apologize. I have searched for the better part of the day on a couple issues and haven't found any solutions to my last problem. I have a htc inspire running CM7 stable. The other day i started to flash different kernels to try them out. I started off using Lordmod V8.1 BFS. I liked everything about it but i was experiencing my data connection and wifi would stop working through out the day and i have to reset my phone and it would work. Then it would happen a little later on. Next I installed TalonACE 7x30 v1.1.1 BFS and have had only a couple internet drops and wifi but mostly the same problems. Sometimes the bars would be gray other times it would still be green but with no connection. I also flashed a new radio. (a recommend one from xda) 12.54.60.25P_26.09.04.11_M2.
So my question is, is it the kernels, CM7, or the new radio I flashed. Also if anyone knows a link to my question please inform me or any methods to fix this issue. Thanks

This actually has been an ongoing battle to pinpoint in lordmods thread. The consensus is leaning towards it being a rom issue. Based on my testing I tend to agree. For now the only "fix" is to use cfs kernels

I am experiencing this as well.
HTC Inspire 4G
BBMod Rom v1.6.0b
TalonACE v1.1.2 BFS (BRAZILIANWAX)
No UV

I'm using Absolution which is cm7 based and had similar problems along with battery issues, so I changed to talonace miui 1.09, all mi issues are gone. Also I use stock radio

[CM7] Random Reboots

I know this isn't where i should post this but my Post Count is to low to post in the development forum. I installed RC 0.4 of CM 7 with a full wipe from .3 and up until last night everything was working fine (except the 4g/3g hand-off). Last night out of the blue it started random rebooting/boot looping. I plugged it in and went to bed. When i woke up it was on and some of my launcher settings were reset but other than that it was ok. Then today I have been experiencing more random reboots. Anyone else with this issue?
Can't post in the dev area yet either
I've had CM7 RC4 on for 3 days now and I haven't experienced any reboots yet but I'm not in a 4G area. Did you mess with the overclocking settings? Try to drop it down to 1GHz and see if that helps. Are you on the stock radio? I have mine on stock radio and it seems to work well.
I didn't overclock it any. I did use setcpu to check to make sure that that it was limiting itself to 1Gh thought, but i didn't touch anything else. My radio is the stock MR1 radio 1.16.00.0402w_1. I switched kernels to KangBang's most recent version for now, the random reboots became to much to handle.
You need go back older radio 223r, I have no problem with CM7 RC0.4 and none reboots. The CM7 author stated says use 223r radio.

I highly recommend The stock radio images. All the testing up to this point is based on 1.16.00.0223r Baseband

I read in the forum that you need to be 402w or before.
here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14692504&postcount=5024
Keep in mind that the stock setting for the new release is 1.8GHz in the performance settings. I heard this stock setting was causing some problems for some.
JBass, you gave me link is not CM7 author.
You need read again - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13179476&postcount=1
I know that it wasn't from the dev but I guess I'm naive for believing the internet
Now its supported,
cant post link but on rootzwiki the post has been updated.

CM7 MR2.5 bat issues

Hello to all you great people! I am not new to this site but I havent posted much or at all. This site is increadible and has taught me a ton about what a droid can do once you know how to use it. Thanks everyone! Anyway I have a question that I would of posted in the CM7 dev thread but I dont have permission since I havent posted much. Is anyone having bat drain issues with the newest build (RC1.1 MR2) using the GB radio 2.5? I have lost over 10% bat life in 25 mins while in airplane mode, no data including wifi and the screen was only on for maybe 2 or 3 mins. It may be a problem on my end but I just wanted to see if anyone else is having an issue with this. Oh and thanks to all you devs for doing all the hard work and dealing with angry wifes or girlfriends! We all appreciate it!

On mr2 it did feel like my battery was draining faster than normal.. with the stock kernel at least. Glad I'm not the only one try switching kernels

I actually had this problem too with the stock kernel, and once I overclocked with the Dream kernel it actually stopped draining my battery, strange.
I did try using Imoseyon's CM7 leankernel but had the same effect. Ill try the dream kernel and report back. Thank guys!!
I'm on my first day with this build of CM7, with MR2.5 and noticed my battery has drained way faster than it did with gingeritis.
Did you try wiping battery stats?

Is there an official name for this kernel, or someplace to get it? I tried a quick Google search for "htc thunderbolt dream kernel", and it didn't bring up anything definite.
I noticed the battery drain too. CM7 7.1.0 RC1 with the MR2.5 radio. It seems to be "cell standby" that's using the highest percentage of the battery. I have it set to CDMA / EvDo auto.
What programs do you have running? Are you overclocked? I an running mr2.5 cm7.1 rc1.1 and still have 22% on 18 hours unplugged. 3 hour screen on, lots of texting, xda browsing, market updates, and an hour of plans vs zombies. On stock kernel, no overclocking. Using interactive governor.

I do have things set to run in the background, but they don't even register a high enough percentage in the battery usage to show there. I was not having battery issues with the 7.0.1 RC 6 on MR1 (the last build).
I've tried two of the utkanos kernels (not the OC one), and the dream kernel. On both of the utkanos kernels, I had no data. I tried rebooting several times, switching data on and off, and changing the network mode. No luck. The dream kernel took several minutes, but data finally came on. I haven't used it long enough to comment on any battery life differences between stock CM7 and this.
Running BAMF getting 1 1/2 on battery easy on 2.5
I am currently running the 2.5 on my BAMF sense 3 2.3.2 dream kernal. My battery is lasting very nicely currently. See the post below I have had better times the best was 1 day and 19 hours.

Ok so here's the news on my end. With the dream kernel things seem much better! However I was watching my ma usage and it went from 48ma to 240ma something after turning on wifi. Then after turning wifi off it never dropped. I rebooted and things went back to a cool 48ma. I'm guessing my original problem was with the stock kernel. But now that I'm on the new one the phone wont power down the wifi or something and made me burn thru my bat till I rebooted. Any ideas gents? Reboot did fix but that usually kills a good 4 to 10% of my bat everytime. I have next to nothing running in the background too.

Guess I should add that now after reboot I'm around 100 ma usage and steady with wifi on. Maybe a reboot once a day might do the trick till CM is finalized. Was thinking bout trying the mr2 radio stead of 2.5. Anyone know if there's a difference or advantage to either?

I was having trouble until i started using the KangBang kernel, that one seems to be the best for me

Most Stable/Best Rom

Hey guys,
In your opinion, what is the most STABLE Rom, and what would you consider to be the best?
I have been using Weapon G2X and Its my favorite so far, as far as features go, but Its crazy buggy, Random reboots 10 times a day atleast! So I want something a little more stable. (unless someone knows a fix to the random reboots)
Also, Whats the best way to backup your texts, settings, and app data and settings before you flash a new rom? Also keep in mind I just switched from an iphone to the G2X a few weeks ago, so i am pretty new to the android scene in general.
My backup pro is a great program to save bookmarks, text messages, applications etc, so is titanium backup pro. I will say latest cm nightlies with faux. 4.7. Kernel is a very smooth/stable experience, also just flashed eaglesblood 2.5 two days ago and its also an excellent rom especially with fauxs latest kernel.

In my opinion Eaglesblood 2.4 was the most stable rom i have used on my G2X. There were absolutely no issues; everything ran 100%. But because it was updated im going to go ahead and say that you should use Eaglesblood 2.5.

for me is miui with this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1073626 is pretty good no ramdom boot ups
Im using weapon and I also had reboot issues until I went with fauxs UV/OC kernel .0.1.3 and set the minimum frequency to 500 using pimp my cpu.
And for backups I always just make a backup in cwm right before flashing and afterwards do an advanced restore, data only. On top of restoring data it sets your phone back up exactly how you had it. And I've had problems with some backup apps losing my data at random.

Weapon's been great for me so I'm not sure, maybe every phone reacts differently. I did have a bluetooth issue on 2.8 so I downgraded to 2.7 and it's been working.
Definitely Eaglesblood.....Fastest and the best rom I have ever used!!!!!
I'd say the latest Cyanogenmod nightly, with either a Trinity(morfic) or faux123 kernel.
faux123's Debauchedsloths battery driver kernel *amazing battery life, but bad battery percentage readings.
Found morfics kernels to be slightly better, although fauxs work is fantastic!
thanks for all the suggestions guys!
Ive installed eaglesblood and so far I am liking it.
The only problem I have run into so far, is that everyone I talk to on the phone (daily) has commented how quiet I sound sense flashing. Never had this problem before, any suggestions?
I have NO issues at all with the latest CM Nightly running faux's 0.4.7 sv. Unfortunately my device won't allow the OC/UV kernel as it never boots after flashing it. I would love to run the DS version but I think I'd have a real hard time with the funky battery readings. Does this happen to everyone who uses it or is it just hit and miss? Any way to fix it?

[Q] miui 2.8.3 with Mason HWA kernel

Hi all. I've been using MIUI.us on my HTC Evo 4g for several months now and love it. A couple months ago I tried the Mason kernel (HWA, fso and sbc) and it seemed to work okay, but didn't bother to reflash it when I updated to MIUI.us 2.8.3. Now when I try to flash it, the phone quickly becomes unresponsive. (It's starts out slow, then gradually grinds to a halt.) I tried setting several different governors, but it didn't seem to matter.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and might know something. I want to get Mason back on the phone so that I can use the BrazilianWax CPU governor and see if it works as well as others say it has for them.

[Q] Blackout 3.2

Upgraded to Blackout 3.2 and have been noticing that my signal is low and there are many places where I get no service. I tried to flash a new radio and messed up my phone. The wife is using the same thing and having problems with service strength. Will this rom ever have a different radio in it or can one be put in it as an option for people having problems with signal. I guess my phone does not have the proper s-off to flash radios and when trying to get it there my phone died.
I like this rom but need different radio.
Any help appreciated.
I have Been using this rom with no radio issues at all and it is the first i have heard of such issue's the only problem i have seen so far is with lag which can be fixed buy overclocking saftly to 1.4ghz and 250hrz or choosing supersmoth from the blackout tweaks Desire HD ONLY
