[Q] Halted while booting with X Recovery - x10minipro - General Questions and Answers

Hi All,
Need your help. I am trying to upgrade my 10minipro from 2.1 to gingerbread, but was stuck with xrecovery. I have followed the below steps:
1. Partitioning the SD card - success, with 1.1 GB.
2. Rooting the mobile phone - Success, using Superoneclick.
3. Installed xrecovery successfully.
4. Downloaded the custom Gingerbread ROM, and renamed to update.zip - Success
5. Re-booted the mobile, and selected 'Back' button right after white Sony Ericsson logo loaded. - Success
6. XRecovery screen loads - Success
Unable to proceed forward with this step:
7. Back up / Factory Reset / Install update.zip from SD card.
Please help & let me know if I have done any error during the process.
Thanks in advance,
Rakesh Vikram

- using PC create folder [xRecovery] and unzip xRecovery0.1.rar
- put the 3 files into the xRecovery folder you've created

[SD card free space is to hold both your phone original backup ROM and the 2.3 ROM]

- when you see the words [Sony Ericsson] on the phone screen, start pressing the back button on your phone multiple times and you will enter the xRecovery Menu.

If you are stuck in the GingerDX startup screen for more than 5 minutes, just try restart the phone and It should be fine. Took me 2 restarts before the new ROM took action.
RESTORING THE Official Android Eclair 2.1.1 ROM
- [shutdown] wait 5 seconds [reboot] W8
- when you see the words [Sony Ericsson] on the phone screen, start pressing the back button on your phone multiple times and you will enter the xRecovery Menu.
- [select] [factory reset (full wipe)]
- scroll down and hit [backup/restore] [restore]
- you should see your original 2.1 backup ROM

Man Check For Latest Rom.
Old Roms Have Bugs.
If U r not sure what to use go for kuyadroid.
I have used it.....!!!!
Its Smooth & great.
Other wise fill the kernal & other requirements properly for GDX.
After u solve this i will tell u a trick to run all games for X8/W8... so keep smiling !!
i tried kuyadroid 2.3.175, Ginger Dx, GingerXperia v21, FroyoPro and I'm currently using honeyfroyo. 3d games seem to crash in ALL of them. Dead Space crashed on reloading saved games on all custom roms and has no problem running on Stock 2.1 ROM.

RESTORE APPS
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHB5-9zoqNU&feature=youtu.be
If you want to restore faster you need the permium version
or the second way to restore apps
RESTORE APPS
This method is faster than the free version
of Titanium Backup but there could be problems
like force closing apps or annoying stuff like this
1. Boot into recovery with Rom Manager or
shut down the phone and press volume down +
3d + power (sometimes a little bit tricky)
2. Go to backup and restore and select advanced
restore.
3. Select the backup with the apps you want to restore.
4. Select restore data.
5. Reboot
INSTALL NEW KERNEL/OVERCLOCKING
1. Download a Kernel from the Forum (Titan Kernel is great!!!)
2. Boot into reckovery
3. !!!Make a Backup!!!
4. Select install zip
5. Select the zip
6. Reboot
After that you can take a look on this:

More things will be added soon!!!
If there are any questions you can post it
here. I will not answer on PMs or E-Mails!!!
You can post requests too.

problem restoring
Hi ive recently ran into problems with my O3d and i need to do a recovery on it. I had rom manager on it and i backed up everything before it went wrong but now all my apps and games and stuff has gone including rom manager!!! Ive also tried the volume down and power button but i cant seem to access the restore part of it only wipe data/factory reset. I know all my stuff is still on my memory card though which makes it the more frustrating lol. Is there anything that can help me with this or is it a case of I just have to start again??? Any help would be grateful. Cheers

You could install a new rom using kdz method then root it then install clockwork recovery then enter clockwork recovery and restore
Hello...
Nice guide you have. Overlaps with manbearpig's somewhat, but you have the video tutorials
For flashing CWM, I recommend using this instead. Prevents the common problem where ROM Manager shows LG Optimus 2x rather than Optimus 3D and the user flashes it anyway, bricking/bootlooping the phone.
You have only included installation of custom roms, You may add installation of stock roms by kdz method. first do this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1473781&highlight=kdz then http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1287236 and get kdz from here http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=2
thanks for the posts I will add this tomorror or in a few hours because I am now online with my phone and it is to much to write

so u r on a stock rom which is rooted and you dont seem to be able install cwm and by pressing volume down and power you are entering default android recovery...right
have you tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1482713 for installing clockworkrecovery?

[Q] nexus s update error assert failed : apply_patch_check

Hi,
I am using rooted nexus s (gsm version) i9023 ics 4.0.4 build IMM76D SCLD versions in India and i am trying to manually update my nexus s to the latest jellybean os but whenever i try to flash the update file name : 9ZGgDXDi.zip(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1736645) i get the following error :
"apply_patch_check "/system/lib/libGLESv1_CM.so" .......installation aborted status 7"
Can someone please help me? I wasted my entire day searching for a solution but did not find anything which can help me.:crying::crying::crying:
I got this error, too, when I tried to do it manually.
Interestingly, when the OTA came, it gave me the same error. Anyone have any ideas?
By the way, turning off script asserts and signature verification in clockworkmod didn't help. Which seems odd, to me.
yeahhhhhh found the way finally updated to jelly bean
Hey, flobin
Yeahhhhhhh i finally updated my nexus s to jelly bean 4.1.1 . After some self study i found that the error i because i had installed Chainsfire 3d which was causing problem. So here's the solution
1. Go to the Chainsfire 3D app
2. Use the option inside the app to uninstall the driver and reboot
Now your phone is restarted
3. Then Go to System Settings
4. Applications
5. Search for Chainsfire3d
6. Clear Cache and Data (do not skip the this step)
7. Uninstall the application
8. Delete all the libs on your SD card
That's it you have solved the problem
Now to manually update the phone put the 9ZGgDXDi.zip and follow the below mentioned steps :
1. Rename the zip file to "update.zip".
2. Now restart your phone in recovery mode.
3. If you are using an rooted device with custoom recovery please toggle off the signature verification and script asserts.
4. Now from the recovery menu go to the option of update from sd card
5. Select the update.zip file placed on your SD card
6. After the completion of the process reboot the system.
7. That's it, now wait for few minutes and now when phone restarts your phone is now working on jelly bean. Enjoy....:laugh::laugh:
Hm. I don't have Chainsfire 3D though. Maybe it's another app!

[Completed] [No Root] [No Usb Debugging] [No custom recovery] unlock Gionee E3 without Data loss

Hi,
I'm new to this forum and a beginner to learn about android devices. I have a Gionee E3 android device (Asian version - English) with Android 4.2.1 on it. Unfortunately I have forgot the pattern lock and to make matter worse the following problems are also included -
1) No root - the device is not rooted
2) No USB Debugging
3) No custom recovery (I guess, only (stock recovery), Android system Recovery is displayed when tried pressing volume + and power key combination )
4) No wi-fi or mobile data could be enabled as the lock won't allow even to slide the screen from the top to get quick access to these things.
5) Windows Xp on my pc
I have tried the following -
1) ADB method to delete the gesture.key, but as the device is not rooted, failed with this attempt with several errors.
2) Tried from Cygwin, but the SU command gave error - -bash: su: command not found
3) Tried Aroma file manager zip file from Android system recovery ----> apply update from SD card, returned error - Installation aborted. Tried to resolve by fixing the updater script file through Notepad++ with different versions of Aromafm but nothing works.
4) Tried with several pattern cracking software zip files through Android system recovery ----> apply update from SD card, still getting error - Installation aborted.
Kindly help me to recover my data intact.
Don't want to root the device and there may be the risk of wiping the data off.
I have also tried to backup from Android system recovery ----> backup user data and 300 MB of data has been backup on SD card. Does this include SMS and phone contacts too with whatsapp data also?
Thanks in advance and sorry for long description, just wanted to make sure you guys know all the things I have tried. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
