OK, so I am running Espresso Rom Nightly [Runnymede SIII], but I wanted to try the TWGB kernel to see if it will stop phone calls from starting out stupidly loud. However when I flash the kernel with Odin, it doesn't boot past the SAMSUNG boot splash. Currently my baseband version is ED05, and my CWM is Glitch Kernel - CWM-based Recovery v4.0.1.4, I don't know if that matters.
Am I doing something wrong, or is the kernel simply incompatible?
Thank you all in advance!!

So i flashed djo5 modem, djo5 custom rom, non voodoo kernel and stupid fast custom kernel. Everthing downloaded correctly; however, when I look at the about phone section the kernel version still says 2.6.29. is it supposed to say stupidfast, how do I confirm that the kernel is loaded correctly? Thanks
Currently running a SkyRocket i727 with GB 2.3.5. I have ROM Manager, Root Explorer and ROM Toolbox installed and the device is rooted. Also flashed CWM. I would like to flash my kernel to one that allows me to replace/modify the boot animation. I tried this one from Da_G:
ponack.net/TPC/dagnarf/cwm-ke...el-0.43-v2.zip
On reboot, I get a "Process system....." failure and the phone won't do anything. Pulled the battery, booted in CWM and restored from backup. Phone is working now.
Can someone help me with doing a kernel flash that will work? The ROM is the stock ROM. I was told that you can flash the kernel without having to flash a new ROM.
Thanks.
This is my favourite gb kernel

If that doesn't work try Eugene's sgs2 streamline kernel
I was on CM10-JB and by mistake i flashed the cranium kernel. When I rebooted after flashing the cranium kernel it just showed the HTC logo nothing more.I waited for almost half an hour but no response.
Than i did a factory reset(all other processes) and flashed the CM9 ICS ROM along with the Custom kernel for CM9/MIUI for ICS build #2 but it is still stuck at the CM9 animation symbol.
Please help.
just reflash the rom
I am trying to install KT 747 Jellybean Kernel on my VZW SCH-i535 Galaxy S3. I'm on a rooted stock rom ( root66_VZW_I535VRBMA2) 4.1.2 I flashed through ODIN. I unlocked via EZUnlock 1.2 , downloaded the 4.1 AOSP Jellybean Kernel and flashed the kernel through CWM v6.0.1.0
After it is complete I wipe cache, dalvik cache, and fix permissions. My phone will not boot. It vibrates goes to Samsung, then the Galaxy S III logo appears, and the phone becomes unresponsive until I remove the battery. I am still able to access recovery; however, I'm unable to boot. Also when I plug it into the charger no indicator comes on nor any lights, it's as if it was off.
The ROM works fine until I try to install the kernel. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated, thank you!
If you are on a stock ROM, you need the TOUCHWIZ KT747 KERNEL, not the AOSP one. That one is for custom roms based on the open source platform like Cyanogenmod.

Hey Guys,
today i just flashed the PAC-Man Rom and then the "Liberty" Kernel v6. It is for Sense. So, i flashed a sense based kernel on pacman rom. What happened? I got a Bootloap. I tried to boot into Bootloader and into recovery, but both doesnt work. Is my phone bricked now? Can an wrong kernel deleted the bootloader and the recovery?
Greets,
