Hi Folks!
Tired of switching 7 toggles before going to bed and again when you wake up?
I just added my new app to play store. Basically it's a night profile switcher with a few gimmicks that came to my mind.
Have a look and maybe buy it (think of it as a beer for me )
Check it out on google play!
Of course I'll be around in the thread and you can contact me at [email protected] if you have feature suggestions or want to help me translate.
Free Version available on play store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jb.good.night.android.free
Please download, add a review if you like it and maybe consider buying the full version.
It enables you to switch back the profile in the morning via toggle or notification.
+ some new features:
- Toggle data, gps, 2g/3g (custom roms)
- Automatically wake up with alarm clock
- Automatically set the alarm clock for each day of the week
- Scheduled wakeup/sleep time
- Colour changing widget for day/night
- Supports nearly all alarm apps
- powernap mode during the day
- more to come!
Description from google play:
Basic features:
- Widget to toggle day/night mode, which let’s you set&reset
- set a radio profile (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Data, Airplane mode*, GPS**, 2G/3G**)
- set phone settings (Sound & Vibration, Sync, Wallpaper, Brightness**)
Advanced features:
- Set your alarm clock (supports most alarm clock apps)
- Different alarm times for every day in the week
- Powernap function during the day
- Lock the screen
- Automatic schedule for day/night
- Customized messages & notification for going to sleep & waking up
- Haptic feedback
- Support for 3rd party apps: Screen Filter, Greenify
- Includes an extension for the DashClock widget
- Switch between dark & light app theme
* requires root on Android 4.2 devices
** requires root permissions
The app offers high functionality, helps you to save battery and time.
It does not run in the background during night!
You can use either the widget or the launcher shortcut to toggle day/night mode. Please note that ONE OF THEM (WIDGET/SHORTCUT) IS REQUIRED FOR THE APP TO DO ANYTHING before rating bad. Instructions how to install the widget or the shortcut can be found in the app (info-tab).
Creative ways to trigger day/night:
As a gesture in a launcher (e.g. double tap, possible in nova launcher prime and others)
As a shortcut on your lockscreen (Not possible on all phones, depends on model & software)
Via DashClock Widget (Extension included in the app)
On certain events (certain location, ..... requires tasker or similar app)
Special Thanks to
- sunfury (Murat Emre KÖSE) for the Turkish translation
- mark26 for being my tester and
- Jake Wharton for providing the awesome actionBarSherlock
- Stericson for rootTools

Thanks for the idea, i have noted that for future releases!
EDIT:
I looked it up, but it doesn't seem to be that easy. Seems it works only for apps signed with system firmware key.
Maybe with root permissions, have to think about that.
Update to Version 1.1:
Homescreen Shortcut can now toggle day/night mode
Should hit playstore soon.
I would be willing to try if it had a free with ads version, but as it stands i'm not willing to pay $1.47 when I can find a free app that has more options.

Thanks for your feedback.
There's 3 reasons why this app has no ads:
1. Battery life: this app is supposed to be energy efficient
2. You wouldn't really see them as the app itself is just a setup for the shortcut
3. I personally don't like them
As for a free app with same features: i couldn't find an app at all that does exactly what i want, this is why i started this project. But if you found an app please pm me the link.
I really like this app myself and i use it every day. It's slim and as far i could test it absolutely stable. Also it allows quite some customization, what is gonna get even more in future releases.

Added compatibility down to Android 2.2 Froyo

Added Scroll-ability for small screens
Fixed landscape mode
There's some NEWS!
I decided to add a free version to play store.
It will have limited features (No restore in the morning) and less frequent updates, but it also means that there is at least one version available to people who can't or don't want to use paid apps on play store.
Free version will hit play store this evening, I'll post the link as soon as it's online.
Looking forward to have you onboard!

I installed your free version v1.6 from play store but I cannot find the widget
Edit:
I found that it is not a widget as you wrote on the market but a shortcut.
Please change this.
Free Version available on play store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jb.good.night.android.free
There was an issue with locking the screen in version 1.6, which is now fixed.
(Update should arrive within the next hour).
Please download, add a review if you like it and maybe consider buying the full version.
It enables you to switch back the profile in the morning via toggle or notification.
EDIT:
Also updated full version to v1.7.
Fixed lock screen bug.

In your own info in the app you should change the hint too.
I bought your app now.
Can you change the so called widget (shortcut) to another color if the night mode is active?
I assume this would be simple if it is a real widget?
Can you add the version to your info screen?

Fine.
I'm working on the widget thing.
Functionally it's working perfectly, but it turned out to be really hard to support all kinds of screen sizes and dpi values.
If any1 knows a good tutorial on that --> You're very welcome!
You will have to stick with the shortcut for the moment.
I'll keep you updated!
NEW VERSION WILL BE UPLOADED VERY SOON:
new Changes:
- Now you could replace the screen brightness changing by unlocking/locking your phone instead
I have created an Application, that controls your screen brightness intelligently
It turns your screen brightness up, if you use your phone like the phone is in your hand and turns the brightness down if the snartphone are on a flat surface like a table etc. (Sorry for my bad english)
It works on Phones and also on Tablets
Here are the download link:
Free:

I also want to release the Pro Version at 24/06/2013
With this features:
-start the service at boot
-choose two kind of designs like dark and light design
-Widget to start/stop the service
-define the position where the screen brightness go dark
-Set the senibility of the sensor, which Controls the Brightness
See more at the Play Store...

Just downloaded. Will try out on my Samsung Galaxy Note II (SGH-T889) and Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8013)
I always leave my brightness at 100% even when its not nessesary. And it always drains my battery.
Quick question, is there a way the phones sensor can detect a pitch black room? Cause whenever in the movie theater or at night if someone is next to me. I use this app (not yours) to manually adjust brightness Bellow than what stock will let you. So having ur phone out won't bother the person next to you.
Was thinking it would be cool if ur app could auto detect when in a dark room and auto change brightness to what user choose. And auto change back when exit dark room
Hopefully that makes sence
Thank You

Title says it all you can rotate your screen on your likes.
Adaptive rotation - if you find automatic screen rotation annoying then this app is for you. It will detect the device's orientation and show a transparent button to let you decide whether the screen should be rotated to landscape or portrait
Lock the screen in landscape or portrait - it will lock the screen the way you want even when some apps don't offer certain orientation
Increase productivity - unnecessary rotation will distract you and interrupt your workflow!
Power saving - every screen rotation will involve a lot of computation. By reducing unnecessary rotation the battery will last a bit longer
There are 8 modes which can be chosen in notification bar:
1. Adaptive mode - detect the device's orientation and prompt you whether to rotate the orientation
2. Landscape - force the orientation in landscape
3. Portrait - force the orientation in portrait
4. Reverse Portrait - force the orientation in reverse portrait
5. Reverse Landscape - force the orientation in reverse Landscape
6. Force auto - automatically rotate the screen in all orientation
7. Stock auto - exactly the same as original auto mode
8. Stock portrait - exactly the same as original portrait mode

Hello I use this app. It has one bug: wanting to customize settings for individual applications but the list loads infinitely.
Sent from LT22i using Tapatalk 2
I concur. It's annoying that it's slow-loading every time I want to customize per app rotation.
Also, it would be nice to have FORCE PORTRAIT, for the home pages. That is, Force Portrait = stock portrait or reverse portrait.
Fix these two and I will rate 6 stars, if allowed.
I just tried out this app and thought it was great so bought the full version. However, the option to hide the notification tray icon (which is one of the features of the paid version) did not work for me. Until I can hide the notifcation I won't be using this app which is a shame because I really like the concept. I am using a Nexus 5 with stock Android
I also think there is room for further improvement. Eg. I would like to be able to control the duration of time that the 'overlay' button appears for. Also if it's technically possibe to control the degree of rotation before the overlay button appears.
This app is soo great! But the adaptive mode is not working since (I believe) Android 6. Is there a fix, or alternative app? Thank you!

I finally got around to implementing the most important changes to support lower Android versions. Since the fixes are done very roughly, I released it as a beta version only. If you'd like to try it, just opt in to the beta program here. It should work fine on Android 7.0, as my changes were necessary only for Android 5.0 and lower.

I have found a solution on my Redmi Note 4. It has Androi 7.0 with MIUI, so I'm not sure that original Android UI has the same menuitems.
My exact problem was that the overlay pop-up did not appear. After some investigation I have found the cause: the app did not have permissions and it did not ask for it. So I had to set it manually in Phone Settings/Permissions/Other Permissions/Adaptive Rotation Lock(Free)/Display pop-up window. I set it true, and it works well now.
Saentis, could you please also make your app able to override autorotate in apps like youtube and mxplayer? I was able to do this with the old Rotation Lock Adaptive app. Otherwise, your app would be perfect. Thanks.

This took a long time.. But I finally added this feature! You can now force rotation anywhere. There are still some limitations (for example reverse portrait doesn't always work and I frankly don't know why) but overall and also specifically for YouTube it works great!
AppConfig lets you configure system settings on per-app basis. Settings are automatically applied when you use your applications and restored when you leave them. It'll show notification on status bar with currently applied settings and clicking on it takes you straight to settings for current app for easy manipulation.
Settings you can configure are:
Brightness - auto/manual and dimming for both
Screen orientation - landscape/portrait/sensor based orientations
Screen timeout - time/never
Media volume
Mobile data - on/off
Wi-Fi - on/off
Bluetooth - on/off
Location - off/networks/GPS/GPS and networks
Language
Location and language settings won't work on all devices! Language settings work on Androids older than 4.2, but location settings always need rooted device or you to grant permissions to AppConfig manually.
Android 4.1.1 or newer ROOTED:
If AppConfig recognizes that you have root permissions and your package manager supports granting permissions, it will show menu item for requesting permissions. Click on it and when your system asks grant root permissions and settings will appear in AppConfig.
Android 4.1.1 or newer without root:
If your device isn't rooted but package manager supports granting permissions you need to manually grant permissions to AppConfig with adb:
- - - - - - - -
adb shell
pm grant fi.aarosoft.appconfig.free android.permission.CHANGE_CONFIGURATION
pm grant fi.aarosoft.appconfig.free android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
- - - - - - - -
First one is for language settings and second one is for location settings.
Android older than 4.1.1:
On older devices if you copy AppConfig as system app and reboot, then it can change location settings. I take no responsibility if you brick your device in the process. You have been warned.

Do they need root privileges and helper module installed in system partiotion? I have read that's needed for toggling GPS. Maybe i'll add this for rooted users and hide option from non-rooted. I will investigate further when I get back home.

Get actual Samsung Edge Lighting Notifications with any app while your screen is off!
Since we all know Samsung only did half the job with this feature, this app will enable you to trigger Edge Lighting (the real one !) when your screen is off. It works with any app by reading the app notification creating a new temporary notification that triggers edge lighting (you won't notice it in your notification list).
You can set custom color filters for your apps, based on their names.
Features:
Real Samsung Edge Lighting
Extremely minimal battery drain
No fake AOD Screen
Works with ANY app (including Messenger!)
Initial setup is a bit tedious, but that's mostly Samsung's fault.
Any suggestion to improve the app is -of course- welcome!

v1.2
Just to explain: I had to create a new app on Play store because, for whatever reason, the Play Console won't let me update the old one.
- New super sexy interface
- Filter search
- In-app support purchase to remove ads
v1.07
Added support for Do not Disturb mode. You can still bypass it in the notification parameters on my app, but there is no way so far I can make it work on a per application basis.
v1.06
Taping an app icon now now copies its name to the clipboard for faster filters setup.
v1.05
Added a detailed help screen
v1.04
Finally added an icon for the app
v1.03
Fixed the issue about the switches resetting when you scroll
Seems great, but the link doesn't work for me.

It's my first app, I just created my developper account today. What does it say?
The link works for me even if I'm not connected.
Here is direct link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fr.zunder.edgelightingfixforallapps
This is the "link" : http://get+it+on+google+play/
That's it, so it cannot work obviously

Weird, the link on the pic works just fine for me... Please try the direct link I provided in the edit. I'm really eager to get some feedback
"Get it on Google Play" should be the description of the pic.
Nice! Thank you for this! It's great when a new app is added for our device! Gonna try this!! :good::good::good:
So far so good, for the first time I got the notification for Gmail while the screen was off. Great job, I will be testing it thoroughly.

Glad to see it's working for you! Did you manage to set the color filter (I guess red for Gmail)?
Edit: I found where to do that. Perfect! Thanks

Nope, tried to find how to do that from the Edge lighting configuration panel but didn't find. Any clue?

When you choose your edge notification style, you should be able to pick a color. Set it as custom and add filters from notification titles (which are the source apps names the way they are displayed in my app)

Where do you choose your edge notification style?

-> Open Settings
--> Display
---> Edge Screen
----> Edge Lighting
-----> Edge Lighting Style
------> Pick your style then Color
-------> Custom Color
Here there will be an option "By text": Enter the name of the source app as displayed in my app and pick a color.
Thanks guys for reporting this issue, I'll add some kind of help in the next release and the PlayStore app description tomorrow (3am there, I'm just barely stayin awake cause I wanna see what you guys have to say about my app).
Hello, thanks for the application, now I want to try ... will the notification light remain on until I open it? Can you add an on and off time? similar to a led notification? Thank you
Works good so far, however, there is no app icon on the notification (generic android icon on gmail), also there is a ": nul" append at the end of text.
Device : S10+ (G975F/DS)

Before I set up like above, notifications were waking up my screen. How would I go back to that option?

For now, no I just implemented a basic Samsung Edge Lighting notification, so you got what they designed.
I will see how I can make the notfication repeat at a fixed interval set by the user. I'm just afraid it will be extremely battery hungry.

With my app, notifications shouldn't wake your screen up but give you an edge light.
When you get in the menu for custom color, you have to allow my app ("Edge Lighting for all Apps") to send Edge Lighting notifications.
Edit: do you understand that Edge Lighting will prevent notifications from turning the screen on but instead display some kind of edge light while keeping your screen off?

Yeah, all of this is tomorrow's work!
Yesterday: learn Android environment and set the notifications
Today: learn how to get and make list of apps and how to set preferences
Tomorrow: make it look good!
Im not seeing the ":nul" however, where exactly is it?

OK thanks. It would be interesting to add that option. Does the goodlock edge light work? So is the LED only activated around the camera?
