ICL23D - Galaxy Nexus Boot/Recovery/System Dump
From Modaco.com
Below are links to a ICL23D Ice Cream Sandwich development build for the Galaxy Nexus!
Some points to note about the files...
All 3 files are completely stock and unedited
This build is a dev build, not a release build
This build is from a test Galaxy Nexus
This build is not odexed!
I know a lot of people are hacking up ports for other devices, so hopefully the non-odexed nature of this release together with the fact it includes the boot and recovery images will help make that happen.
All I ask is that you don't mirror the files elsewhere, that you link back to this topic rather than deeplinking the files and that if you use them you credit the source. So here they are...

Superboot - rooting the Galaxy Nexus
Superboot is a boot.img that when booted, will root your device the first time you boot (installing su and the superuser APK). No need to flash any partitions, no need to mess around with ADB, no messing with the contents of your data partition, no overwriting the shipped ROM on your device, just boot the boot image using the instructions below and you're done!
APPLY THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Superboot r1 - DOWNLOAD (Filesonic) - MD5: 1e988380d12fa3a4cc3e9db975e96b27
The superboot image is also 'insecure', allowing you to use 'adb remount' as well as having full ADB root access to your device until such time as you reboot after running this process (it's a non permanent ADB root as it's a 'fastboot boot' and not a 'fastboot flash').
How to use Superboot - Windows, Linux and OSX
- Download the Superboot zip file above and extract to a directory
- Put your device in bootloader mode - Turn off the phone then turn on with the 'volume up' and 'volume down' buttons both pressed to enter the bootloader (as pictured below)
- WINDOWS - double click 'install-superboot-windows.bat'
- MAC - Open a terminal window to the directory containing the files, and type 'chmod +x install-superboot-mac.sh' followed by './install-superboot-mac.sh'
- LINUX - Open a terminal window to the directory containing the files, and type 'chmod +x install-superboot-linux.sh' followed by './install-superboot-linux.sh'
Note: If you are using a retail Galaxy Nexus, you may need to unlock the bootloader first, using './fastboot-windows oem unlock' (or the appropriate version for your machine). Note that the OEM unlock sequence wipes your device.

Hey, this is rezo showing you how to root your htc device in only 20 minutes. This does require an unlocked bootloader or S-OFF. If you havent done any of these, unlock your bootloader at http://htcdev.com or S-OFF with an HBOOT patch at http://revolutionary.io (Supported Devices Only). Make sure you have USB Debugging Checked and Fastboot Unchecked
Materials:
*HTC Device
*USB Cable
*SD Card
*1 cup of coffee
1. Download your custom recovery for your device here: http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager and Download this zip file and extract it to your C:/ drive:https://www.dropbox.com/s/zzdc3q75va5cgvj/Android.zip
2. Connect HTC Device to PC
3. Rename the recovery you downloaded to "recovery.img" and place the recovery file into the Android folder you extracted
4. Open cmd and cd into the folder by typing "cd c:/Android". For example:
Microsoft Windows [Version 6.0.6002]
Copyright (c) 2006 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
C:\Users\rezo>cd c:/Android
c:\Android>
5. Execute these commands one at a time.
Code:
[COLOR="YellowGreen"]adb reboot-bootloader
fastboot devices
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot
[/COLOR]
6. Download this file and place it to the root of your sd card: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/58745804/files/root.zip
7. Get into bootloader by restarting the device and immediatly hold vol down+power until a screen with 3 android at the bottom appear.
8. Select Recovery
9. Choose "Install Zip from SD Card"
10. Select root.zip and select yes
11. Reboot and you should find Superuser in your apps drawer
12. Now you can enjoy your hot cup of coffee.

[TOOL]ADB-Helper (Updated 24.10.2012) Logviewer / Recovery-Flasher

Hello guys,
I have been inspired by broodplank and his tools and have written a small gui for ADB

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
With this tool you are easily able to use some of the very powerfull functions of adb.
For instance you can read and save logcat,DMesg and build.prop
Also you can reboot your phone to System,recovery or bootloader
Remote Install APKs
and if you are using a I9001 you also can install the recovery direct from your PC²
(I read the ro.product.model to determinate phone, so this has to be GT-I9001, it will not work with certain versions of BioHazard roms as this has changed the ro.product.model information)
New in Beta 3 is the posibility to directly choose one of "build in" recoveries that will come with adb-helper
Requirements:
Windows XP or higher
Microsoft Dot Net Framework 4
Installed Driver to connect Phone in Debugmode (For I9xxx it is Samsung Kies)
How to Use:
Download Setup Here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/adbhelper/files/setup-adb-helper_Beta 3.zip/download
Install the Tool into a folder of your choise.
Use it !

-Special function for I9001 : Flash Recovery from Image-file (adb push + dd)
Beta 1: Initial Release
Sourcecode Beta 1: http://sourceforge.net/projects/adbhelper/files/ADB-Helper_Beta1_Source.zip/download
Screenshots:
In Testing.. ADB is such a great tool and now with your GUI its useable for Newbees too.
Good job! I like to see more tools (not only the ones of myself ;p)

[MOD][addon.d] ADB and Fastboot Host for Android

These mods install adb and fastboot binaries for ARM processors. This enables you to use an Android device as the host machine rather than a PC or laptop to run adb and fastboot commands on a connected device. Some devices like the Nexus 7 and Nexus 5 come with adb, but not fastboot. You can check for these binaries in /system/bin/. I have made separate zips in case your device already has adb. These mods also includes addon.d scripts.

What is addon.d?
On some ROMs, like Cyanogenmod, there are scripts in /system/addon.d that run during a ROM update or flash. They can backup and restore system apps (like Gapps), or perform many other functions. This mod includes an addon.d script, so the mod is not lost during a ROM update! If your ROM doesn't support addon.d, this mod should still flash properly, but you won't benefit from addon.d.
Tested and Confirmed to work on:
Nexus 5
Nexus 7
It should work on many devices. Let us know if it works!
Note:
You will need OTG support to get any benefit from this, so your device can act as host when another device is attached. Be sure to use the su command before adb or fastboot.
Install Instructions:
- Boot into recovery
- Flash Install zip
- Reboot
Downloads:

Changelog:
Code:
1.0 - 02/13/14

Recovery missing
Can you help me because my recovery mode is missing. It happend when i tried to flash clockwork recovery mode that isn't meant for my phone. Mine is a Karbonn A108. If I could only install fastboot then I could Flash my phone. When i try to get in fastboot it says fastboot is missing.. please help I'm in a crisis. :crying:
Is this safe to use in Lineage 17.1?
Is it installable using exposed framework?
Does it solve this problem:
I have a TV box Scishion V99 Hero. It's rescue Adb mode presumes a USB connection. I cannot find how to set tcpip access in rescue mode. Yet the box has only female USB ports. The big flat connector. So I can't connect it to a PC but only to my phone.
I want to use my phone as an Adb host when installing ROM into the Scishion box.

Mod Edit: Link removed
I don't recommend anyone install this to their device until OP shows his source code/repos for the kernel and ROM.
He forked from this repo: https://github.com/nvllsvm/pixel5-aosp-builder
And only changed two lines in the readme to show changes to his fork: https://github.com/stayboogy/Staybo...mmit/1c5719b2eba5ec8c1e201306a9d2ab1120b0b2b1
Again, I would not install this at all to any device until his sources are provided.
rooting instructions added
the only bug found thus far is the Camera bug which will remove the app from app drawer but will still be available via double press of power button.
I'm working on it...
MOD ACTION:
Thread closed pending compliance by OP.
