[Q] Anyone tried Case-Mate Pop! for HTC Sensation Hard Case? - HTC Sensation

Doing hours of research on all diffrent types of cases i can apon the theory that case-mate are some of the best cases for the phone.. but i can across these Pop! branded hard cases and wanted to know if anyone else has one or seen one in the wild and what there thoughts are.. The case looks great, but its a heafty $34.00 for one.

I love the case, I have the black and grey version and I've been using it for just over 2 weeks now. The grey is a nice soft tactile grip and the main part of the case is a nice hard and smooth rubber compound that feels more like plastic then rubber. Fits the phone very nice, and its a dream to hold on to. But its a pain to take it out if you ever need to get access to the battery or memory card.
The only real con I found is that glossy black plastic scratches easily and shows the scratches but better the case then my phone.
Buttons are very easy to push and you don't have to struggle with them.
Now I have had one accident since I've had my case and I know it saved my phone from damage.
If there was an Otterbox Defender for out phone it would be over $60 and provide about the same protection. I'd would recommend this case.

I don't understand how people scratche their HTC!
Its the only devices that have unscratchable materials,I had an N1, DHD and now Sensation with no cases...never had any single scratches (apart the N1 screen)

Love it. Adds bulk to the phone, but it looks dope so I don't mind. Mucho protection too.

If you haven't made the purchase yet, take a look at the Seidio Active case for the sensation. I've had it about a week now and it is a fantastic case. Not too much bulk, cutouts are positioned perfectly, and buttons are easily accessible. Plus I bought the one with the kick stand built in, which is a nice extra feature.

Just got this case today and its great.. adds a little bulk but it feels nice. Looks great also. Already got 3 compliments today. Very easy to put on and take off. Fits snug. Buttons push easy. Recommended to anybody that doesn't mind a little bulk.

Just received this case. Very nice and greatly built. Only minus is that back is scrach sensitive. And the phone becomes little bit "fat" (add 2-4 mm) Buttons is still very responsive and everything is fine.
I would recommend to buy from case-mate.com with coupon from http://www.retailmenot.com/view/case-mate.com
I have bought it with 25% helloween coupon and I have received my case in 9 days. (from USA to Lithuania).

Also I have received Tough Case and Barely There Case today from case-mate.
I can say POP! case is far the best, gives the best protection.
Barely There case is even funny. It has almost no protection from dropping the phone. It just makes 1mm protection from scraches.
And the tough case is like cheaper version of POP! version. And there isn't so much gum or silicone whathever the material inside is in the tough case that it is in POP!.
POP is far the best case for me yet (from case-mate production).

Another Coupon for site-wide 25% discount.

I know this thread is a bit old, but just got this case in the mail today. From the experienced guys who have this case...what is the best way to start taking the case off?
Work from the bottom up? Bottom down? Or sides? For the life of me I have no clue Feel like I'm gonna split the phone in half, trying to get this on or off!
Thanks!

Otterbox Defender Series Now Available for Desire

Greetings All,
I just wanted to let everyone know that the Otterbox Defender Series is now available for our HTC Desires. I am sure that I am not the only one who has been patiently awaiting it.
I have not used an Otterbox product before, however have read some reviews and they were all positive, so that was what justified the price on it. I love my Desire and it's worth the money for the added protection for the phone.
If anyone is planning on getting one, make sure you google search for a COUPON CODE first, I managed to save 10% on mine, and if you live in the US I believe you can get find a code for free shipping.
Also, if anyone has any experience with Otterbox, I'm sure the other Desire owners would be interested in hearing it.
I cannot post links, but if you go to Otterbox DOT com or do a google search you can easily find the site.
...I don't see any ''new'' case for the desire. The 2 models have always been the same.
Yes, but up until now the defender series case was listed as coming soon.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I am taking the availability claim with a pinch of salt.
I took the time to order the Commuter case for the Desire from the Otterbox website 3 weeks ago when it was showing as "in stock".
Only after 3 weeks and a couple of emails have I been told that it has not even been shipped yet as it is not yet available.
Somewhat annoyed.
Ouch. Nothing worse than waiting for stuff to arrive in the mail - and then to find out that it hadn't been sent at all.
Well there definately in stock, mines just arrived. get on it lads.
I'll be reviewing mine when i get a mo. I'll let you know the score.
Looks pretty bulky. Makes a sleek phone not so sleek.
depends on application really.
i work in the building industry so i need something HD i can't be dropping it out on a building site and it explodes into pieces.
I think if your looking for sleek head for the communte
If you are in the UK you can order both defender and commuter from play.com - still have to wait a few weeks though !!

As someone who regularly does reviews for OtterBox, I can say, with great pride, that the products they release are great (for those who haven't used them). Just be prepared, if you buy the Defender, your device WILL be larger than many may want it to be. Above form, although they do take it into consideration, functionality is it's primary goal and it does it well!
I got mine yesterday, it does add some bulk to the phone but I do like how rugged it looks. Shipping was quick for me, but I am in North America so that had a factor in shipping speed.
The phone feels well protected. It feels as if I dropped it, the phone would be okay. I have access to all my buttons and ports. The camera is not hindered at all and it has an opening for the external speaker. The light sensor and notification LED have openings as well.
The front part of the case has a screen protector attached. This is my only complaint with the product. I wish I could remove their screen protector and just use a generic one. The touch screen is still responsive but I like a generic one because it's easier to replace when it gets scratched.
Keep this all with a grain of salt, as I've only had the product for a day. This is more of a first look than an in depth review.
I hope this helps people who are considering this product for their Desire.

Got mine today (from Fort Collins, CO to my doorstep in 2 days. Not bad).
Has no one posted pics? I'll take some if no one else has.
For those wanting to use their own screen protectors, check out the Case-Mate Tough Case. Had it two weeks and I love it. It comes with a screen protector, and it's the best I've applied. You are free to use your own though.
Uses the same dual material construction of soft silicone rubber inner, and hard plastic outer shell. And when I got it from play.com it was in sale at £15. Would have Been happy had I paid full price though. Very well made case.
Adds minor bulk, you Just have to decide yourself what compromise you are prepared to make on form over function. Personally I like the look and feel it lends the phone. Plus it comes off easy enough when you are home. Sure the otterbox offering well be similar.

Some okay-ish pictures uploaded.
A couple of points:
The buttons and trackpad are accomodated by cutouts in the plastic film. Because the film doesn't stick to the phone (at least it doesn't to mine), it makes pressing the buttons a little more difficult than it otherwise could be. It also means that dust/dirt could get in.
The plastic film doesn't fit close to the screen toward the bottom as it does at the top. This means that touches aren't registered until you push the film down onto the screen as you press. The top is fine. A little annoying, but not the end of the world.
Does anyone else's Defender do the same?
Someone posted asking how much bigger it is. I'd say that it doubles the thickness, and not a lot to the height/width. Certainly very chunky.

My defender is the same, the screen protector is not a perfect fit. I think that the screen protector that comes attached to the faceplate could be easily removed, and I plan on trying to do so when my fresh batch of stock screen protectors comes in.. (bought some cheap anti-glare ones from ebay)
Other than that minor annoyance, I really am satisfied and impressed with the case. Sorry about not posting pics, but my only camera is my phone...
The defender case has even the screen and the button covered .The track button is obstructed for easy scrolling ?
The commuter case looks good in this case .
@sorch thanks for photos .
Ok, I have decided to cancel my defender order with play. Looks too big and to many issues with the screen protector. I'm considering the commuter case now - any one got it yet?

[Q] Best Case and Screen Protector?

Anyone recommend a nice durable case that offer the most overall protection, with preferably not making it bulky? And what's a nice screen protector? I'm not really rough on my phones, but stuff happens. I just want to be protected.
I came across HTCDepot.com, is that generally a nice, legit site? I came across another one like HTCSensation4gaccessories.com or something, and it doesn't seem too legit.
Thanks
Here's my setup:
http://tpu-cases.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=25&zenid=ef4f8d65c98ae0a31c33842ab6b7dec1
A great case. Offers excellent protection, nice grip, and looks cool
For a screen protector:

Does the job rather nicely.
Excellent setup for protection and low-profile, IMO

I would recommend the smoked case as well. Some cases don't have all the holes cut out, so be wary of that when looking.

I have the Incipio NGP. http://www.myincipio.com/HTC-Sensat...-Sensation-NGP-Semi-Rigid-Soft-Shell-Case.asp
This things is probably one of the best cases I've ever had as far as my uses go. It's a great fit, extremely durable, and doesn't add a lot of bulk.
My only complaint is that the cutout for the USB port is a little tight, so a lot of third party USB cables will push the case around when you plug them in. The HTC one is fine because the housing on it is nice and compact, but the bigger/more squared off housing on a lot of other cables just doesn't fit as well.
I use Ghost Armor for the screen, mainly because there's a kiosk at the mall near work, and they'll install it for me so I don't get air bubbles, etc.

This one is a lot more rigid than the one T-Mo had from what I can tell.
It has almost no flex around the edges once it's in place. The T-Mo one seemed kind of "floppy" to me.

No, it's not typical silicon case. It's much harder material and does not attract any dirt or dust. This is far more like TPU, but all the TPU cases I've seen for this phone were glossy, this has a matte finish.

Its wafer thin, very strong, and adds that little extra grip that the Sensation needs to stop it sliding around in your hand.

I would suggest this pouch:

Really minimalistic look and feel.
Or get a :

Or if you want to shell out some money:

Do not buy the OtterBox, always loved her, but the sensation was very bad. Case mate beautiful
I hate to be one of "those" people but theres already at least 2 very helpful CASE threads, lots of info and lots of pics so go to search and check them out.
i think that case-mate have many cases that are beautiful and enough proofing for Sensation.
There are mesh cases on ebay for about 2$.
I'm not sure how they will handle a fall, but they will protect the back cover from scratches.
Here is an example:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/250990237606?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
edit:
Just came home from work and the case was in the mail box.
My first impression is:
The case looks GREAT! The phone fits very well. there are holes for all the antennas (all the case is full of holes). I don't think it will protect your phone from a fall to the floor, but it will definitely protect it from scratches on the back cover AND on the screen! It has about 0.5-1mm "rail" on the screen side so when the phone is up side down, the screen does not touch the surface. It is possible to remove the back cover without taking off the case. I think the holes will help the phone to cool off.
I will try to post some pictures later if any one is interested.
If you don't mind waiting about 10 days, best bargain I've found IF you want a very thin and minimalistic case WITH Screen protector, here you go:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/TPU-Silicon...875643?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item1c20d468bb
I ordered about a dozen for myself and coworkers. I got them at 1.99 shipped each, but they went up just a bit. For that price, get a few different colors.
Nice, tight fit and all holes are unobstructed and well cut out.
Never buying a hardcase again!
Never buying a hardcase again!
Sure the mesh ones look awesome but that's it, I bought 1 from ebay and it broke around the volume buttons within days of receiving.
Got a replacement from the seller and same thing!
Ended up getting a full refund.
Bought a $30 solid hard case from my local Optus Store (I'm an Aussie), was great for a few weeks then it too broke, they offered me a replacement but I opted for the full refund.
Totally disillusioned with hard cases!
Now I am about to test one of the TPU Clear Silicon Cases, fingers crossed it does the trick and doesn't some how melt and fuse itself to my Sensation XE.
Ballistic
I bought this case from amazon and the pics online look weird but in person its a nice looking case and solid feel and weight to it. http://www.amazon.com/Ballistic-SA0...sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1330012302&sr=8-1-spell
There is a grey one and black. I got the black one . The company also has a website goballistic.com
I bought one of these, we'll see how it is

The case came in yesterday, it's mediocre.
The case is securely in place but not very secure, it's fairly easy to take the phone out of it. It is thin so that means that it doesn't cover the front of the phone at all.
Also the camouflage paint doesn't go to the edges
I would be careful; in my experience cases will compound wifi problems with this phone (as in block the antenna). With my two cases I can never achieve a full 3 bar Wi-Fi signal.

I would be careful; in my experience cases will compound wifi problems with this phone (as in block the antenna). With my two cases I can never achieve a full 3 bar Wi-Fi signal.

I have something like that but sold it. It's a great case for the cash, but you can see even in the pic on ebay that the top button is not aligned properly. Other than that those cases are my 3rd fav case.

Looks decent but looks like a lint magnet. But if you are ok with it, then that's what matters right?

That's my travel case. Great case. But my fav at the moment is the clear aprolink hybrid case. It's pretty much plastic with tpu trim for grip. The only drawback is that the rubber easily scratches, but I can't see it.

[Q] OtterBox Defender and Commuter for HTC ONE S

Hey all, I saw that these became available recently. I was thinking about getting one for when I do rougher activites but was concerned about taking away from the slimness of the phone. I already have the OEM HTC matte black slim case. Anyone get this yet or have any feedback on it's build quality, size, weight and fit/finish?
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks

I am interested as well. I figure the slimness of this phone will help making any decent case that much more appealing. My friend has a case on his S2 and that thing is a BEAST.
im in the same boat. Since the phone is so small, i figured that the otterbox couldn't add that much heft to it. Now i'm anxiously waiting!!
HD2: 4.76" x 2.64" x 0.43"
One S: 5.15" x 2.56" x 0.31"
As you can see, the HD2 was pretty slim for a 4.3" phone, and the defender turns it into a 5.1" x 2.93" x 0.8" beast. It does however protect in every way possible, with lenses over the camera and flash, some sort of rubber membrane over the speakerphone, a rubber flap over the ports, a built in hard screen protector, and soft rubber stretched over strong plastic everywhere else. It comes with a belt holster that rotates and allows the phone to be securely snapped in face first, back first, or rotated 180* and functions as a dual angle kickstand in portrait or landscape. The whole thing is surprisingly light given its strength, but it had one big drawback that otterbox has hopefully resolved by now: it was far too easy to get contaminants underneath the screen protector, and once there it was very difficult to keep clean, clear, and smudge free.
Given the cost difference and my preference to go without a screen protector I'm saving for the case mate tough case, and for day to day use I'm happy with my diztronic.
For the Commuter case the dimensions on Otters site are 5.4 in x 2.81 in x 0.56 in
For the Defender Case the dimensions on Otters site are 5.48 in x 2.89 in x 0.67 in
The Dimensions for the One S: 5.15" x 2.55" x 0.31"
Both cases add size but IMO they won't make this phone a brick.
I don't have either of the otterbox cases for this phone, I do have the Ballistic though. The ballistic is most similar to the Otterbox Defender series. In my opinion the case does not not a significant amount of bulk to the phone and it still fits very comfortably in my pocket as well a stand I have on my desk. I can provide pictures of it if your are curious.

Please post pics of it when it arrives, I'm concerned that it has the built in screen protector cover that is normally on the defender not the commuter series.

still waiting on the defender. i really want the belt holster. But cant wait to see pics of the commuter case as well
just ordered my commuter series case, had one for my evo before i switched to an HD2. I think a little bit of extra security is worth it over cosmetic appeal of slimness. Just my thoughts
Just got my commuter case this morning ill try to post some pics later tonight. This is my first otterbox case and as far as looks I really don't like how it looks, but I gues it gets the job done. The case doesn't really add to much bulk, it just as wide as my d30 case and you don't really lose to much thinness.

Commuter is good comes with a screen protecter and the inside is made of rubber and the out of some weird rough plastic, overall the case is good for any kind of drops, thickness wise its as big as an n1 with no case

Quick question, is the case 1 piece or 2 pieces that snap together to fit the phone? I can't tell and wasn't sure after looking at the website.
rubber for the cover, hard plastic for the frame, 2piece and a screen protector but fugg that it leaves a dirty imprint after u take it off
Loving my commuter case ...dropped my phone from 3 ft not a scratch anywhere on the case feels good

Has anyone picked up the Defender? I'm fairly certain that the One S is going to be my next phone but I work construction currently and that can be pretty hard on phones (Actually, my Milestone/Droid held up very well...Desire Z not so much). The two threads in the main forum about the screen breaking easily are worrying me a bit and an Otterbox is going to be a necessity here.
Is the Defender THAT much bigger than the Commuter? And apart from the clip, is it really that much more durable? I've checked the site and read what's there, but looking for real world experience from users (of both the One S and previous phones here).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Diztronic Case Review

I was bored enough so here is a simple review of the Diztronic TPU case for the One X.
First impressions of it, it looks like most standard TPU cases. the one thing that really caught my eye was the matte backing and the glossy sides which imitates that of the phone how it has a matte back and glossy sides at least in the case of the grey version of the One X.

Also shown in the pics you can see the cutouts for the rear speaker, headphone jack, power rocker, volume rockers, and USB port Which with them cut out like that they are super easy to press.
Fitment wise this thing fits the ATT One X like a dream, infact the fitment is so close it does take a little pressure getting the remaining two sides of the phone into the case.
an overall back view of the case installed, the cutouts for the rear speaker and the camera's LED are perfect, the camera isn't covered up all that great but, laying it on a desk or table it doesn't hit the camera bezel.
Heres a closer look of the camera area of the case when installed, as you can see the cutout is rather big but i have yet to have the lense or the bezel make contact with what the phone is resting on.
for the final picture i opted to take one with the screen protector installed just so everyone can see how it lines up. at the top its maybe a 1mm gap at the top and bottom, the sides have 4/5mm gap side to side, which i could live with, using a wet apply screen protector with this case WILL make the sides bubble up.
Overall, I love how this case feels when it is installed, how it feels in the hand. Almost like nothing is even on the phone, it's lightweight and very minimal bulk. The screen protector is a bit lacking on the sides but with the curved glass, what can you expect. Overall a very damn good case in my opinion hope you enjoyed the review.
Thank you for your review. Mine should arrive Monday.

I thought it would help some since I didnt see an actual review of the case but the one that I had bought was this one
"Matte Back Translucent Black"
i dont like the case at all, dust tends to get under the case some how... by looking at it, its not a tight fit but oh well, this will hold until i figure out what case i should buy

Cool. I generally despise TPU cases but I need something thin so I'm gonna give it a shot. Can't beat the price.

I never cared to much for them either until i had my sgs2 with a incipio ngp, from there on i liked them. my normal choice for a case was otterbox but i didnt wanna put a bulky case on this slim device. so got to looking around on amazon and seen the diztronic.
Thanks for the review. I ordered two from Amazon. I've always like TPU cases, especially the ones made by Diztronic.
I had the white matte one for 3 days now. It fits perfectly just like op said. Light, beautiful.

yes please i'd love to see how this looks like in white. i hope its similar to the this one
I have been using the clear one on my white HOX as well.
It is pretty good, minimal bulk considering it is TPU and perfect fit, but it is still not as minimalistic as the official HTC clear hard case C700, but it will do the job fine till I get hold of the HTC one which fits AT&T XL phone, it will also be better because it protects the camera, the Diztronic case doesn't, or very minimal protection since it is cut outside the metal frame around the lens.
Just got mine in, color me surprised... I actually like it! This marks the very first TPU case that I don't mind having on my phone. Very slim, minimal bulk, and fits perfectly. My only complaint is that it makes the hardware buttons difficult to press but I can deal with that until something better comes along. I have like 6 other cheap cases enroute from China so we'll see when they come.
Ordered diztronic clear case on Tuesday, should be arrive on Saturday. I'm still waiting for the HTC hc v701 to be reviewed with att one x. Anyone tried it? Is it fit perfect with att model?

I really do like this case but the camera touches when it's laid on its back. Case quality is great. Dust does get behind it but since it's so easy to take off it's not a big deal. As long as you can remember to put your phone face down your fine with this case.
+1 to this case...MUCH better than the orange plastic one from HTC that I had....
Can't beat this deal off Amazon for 10 bucks
Also the clear version of this case with the white HOX looks great!
This TPU case looks nice. I am a fan of matte type of products! I just placed in my order through ebay. Thank you for sharing!
I like the case aside from the fact that its pretty fricken dirty after only 4 days. Gonna try to clean with alcohol wipes. Anybody have other suggestions?
