Q can someone please help me??. - HTC Sensation

I have pink lettering on my hboot that says locked i am s-on. I am trying to flash stock ruu hboot I installed the ruu and then the ota update. After the the ota update that was when the hboot said locked.right now the hboot is 1.8 0000 can someone please tell me how thanks I used the revolutionary method to root the phone btw. I want the phone to be stock. Stock hboot stock rom

S-On means you will need to run revolutionary again. That tool should S-Off your hboot as well as replace it with the custom revolutionary hboot. Can you try running the tool again and checking to ensure it changes it to S-Off?

I want the phone to be stock. Stock hboot stock rom thanks for the reply

I found your other post, you are looking to return the device for service. Did you follow all steps to return to stock? This thread has steps for both directions, unlock/root and return to stock - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300

I did install the ruu the hboot was stock then. After I installed the ota it went back to locked i pink lettering. It says i need to flash the stock hboot but I do not know how to. That is all I need Help. With

If you still have your update zip file, extract firmware.zip from it. Rename to PG58IMG.zip, place on root of sdcard, boot into bootloader and allow bootloader to update with all images. You can also try pushing the boot image directly via fastboot. Another option might be to flash hboot with ENG hboot before flashing with OTA update hboot.

How do you make an ruu a zip.?? And how do you flash the hboot via bootloader. Thanks so much for helping

If you can find me a link or point me right direction would be greatly appreciated

Here is a link to the OTA update zip in case you want to pull the firmware.zip out yourself - http://www.multiupload.com/KH5AU99SDU - OTA update zip
Here is the firmware.zip extracted and renamed - http://www.multiupload.com/873LJ6LM1Y - PG58IMG.zip
Place the PG58IMG.zip on root of sdcard, reboot into bootloader and apply update. Reboot into bootloader to verify hboot version and state.

Thank you so much. So the only one I need to do is PG58IMG.zip?? I just need to update the hboot or will they PG58IMG.zip do that for me?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App

After the OTA it WILL say locked as that's normal - it's still stock. Don't worry about it

The PG58IMG.zip will update all partitions to latest including hboot.

OK, does the LOCKED banner in hboot just mean nand locked or does it mean something else?
---------- Post added at 01:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:11 PM ----------
Nevermind, LOCKED does mean that it has been tampered.
See this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1261905
Did you return CID to the stock value of T-MOB010?

***Locked*** is how the HBOOT will show when it's locked by HTC, you can then 'unlock' it using their official tool on their website. It does NOT mean it's been tampered with.
If I was to go and buy a Sensation today the HBOOT will say ***LOCKED*** out the box

Thank you so much what a great help

so the ***LOCKED*** dose mean that it is stocked and is back to how it was when i bought it? that is all i am needing to know now or dose it mean that it has been tampered with? or is that how it is supposed to be after the OTA update? thank you all so much for all your help

[Q] Desire S rooted needs unrooting

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum, basically I bought my desire s a few weeks ago and managed to root it, then added a Rom. However I believe I need to put back a stock Rom as it needs returning owing to a faulty speaker where I can't hear it ring, the output is getting worse each day. So basically I need to know which Rom and how to do it. I have tried searching but come to a dead end, lots of help for the desire but not my desire s. Many thanks in advance.
I'm sure I saw a thread knocking about in this forum where someone described the process of returning the phone completely back to s-on stock state, but I can't seem to find it myself now either.
Iirc though, restoring back to a stock rom and kernel may be enough to override the hboot and make it s-on and without root. There's something somewhere about flashing a stock hboot I'm sure.
Sorry I can't be more help than that.

[Q] TMO US Sensation, HBOOT 1.20.0000, S-OFF, LOCKED bootloader

I ran the revolutionary utility to get S-OFF. According to my hboot screen, I now have S-OFF. Step 2 is to install recovery which is where I am stuck. When I plug my phone into my PC (phone in HTC Sync mode; not the hboot screen), I get "pyramid, with hboot 1.20 is not supported". Looking at my hboot screen, I see...
*** LOCKED ***

At this stage, should I just follow the HTCDev process to unlock the bootloader? Not sure where to proceed.
Any attempts to flash a recovery using PG58IMG on the SD Card immediately generates "incorrect model id" error. After reviewing this post, I tried the Android Flasher utility, but it gives a no permission error.
you should be able to go back down to 1.17 eng boot with IMG.zip file, you are still s-off so should pass through
I tried the ENG hboot posted on this thread. I loaded the zip file onto the root of my SD card. Boot phone into hboot. Device starts to read the file and then reports: "model ID incorrect!".
Here is a pic of my hboot screen: h t t p : / / img542.imageshack.us/img542/4936/imag0197n.jpg
Since my hboot currently reads LOCKED, do you think i should unlock it from HTCDev? Then, in theory, i should be able to flash different hboot/recovery.
Fixed!! I installed the latest RUU for my carrier from this thread. The RUU restored my device, radio, hboot [1.17.0008], & recovery back to it's original state [S-On]. Device is now back to the way it was when i opened the box.
After that, I was able to re-run Revolutionary and this time it worked. I now have S-OFF, correct hboot, and rooted stock ROM.

I did S-OFF using the revolutionary.io and when it asked for upgrade given Y, but it failed. But the S-OFF is done on my HTC sensation 4G. but when i copied the PM58IMG.zip and su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed on my SD card root. and starting in HBOOt first its asked for upgrade and pressed yes then it shown the below error
modelID incorrect.
from now on my HTC is not starting just the white screen with HTC then to HTC quitely brillient then repeating same. please help me how to solve this.
the HBOOT is now 1.27 before S-OFF its 1.18

n00b question guys.
i just got a used Sensation. mine says ****LOCKED****
but next line says S-OFF.
does it mean my bootloader is unlocked?
i'm confused because i went to htc dev and got the unlock.bin file for my sensation. the problem is when i get to the final yes/no screen, i can only choose NO option. no matter how many times i press power button on yes, it won't work. only when i choose "no",it will reboot.

[Q] Back to stock for OTA updates with SuperCID ?

First thing's first - I'm definitely not a newb.
My phone (Sensation 4G on T-Mobile USA) is depended upon for work and person use. I've been playing with a lot of custom ROMs and each and every one of them has their own little quirks.
Because of this I have seriously considered going back to stock, but I want to be sure that I can receive OTA updates.
I realize that I can get everything back to stock via RUU, HOWEVER, with SuperCID in place, would I still be able to receive OTA updates? I've read that the RUU doesn't replace the SuperCID with the shipped value.
If not, how would I get the SuperCID back to the original value (which unfortunately I don't have - phone was bought used and already rooted) ?
Thanks so much!
You can get the OTA with superCID the RUU will unroot your phone and reinstall the stock recovery. You will need the stock recovery or you could Brock your phone
If you want to be on the safe side and rewrite your cid do the steps you did to get superCID but instead of 11111111 put T-MOB010 That should get you back on track

Are you sure for this? From what I know IF you install stock ROM from RUU, it will automatically unroot the phone, get back to S-On and of course replace your bootloader with the original one. However to be honest I don't know what happens if you install stock from clockwork recovery - maybe that way the bootloader will not be replaced and you will still have S-Off and root.
TO JWhipple: The Super CID shouldn't matter for RUU. However you could always change it back to your phone/operator version before installing RUU.
@up: not in Sensation. After installing stock with RUU, S-OFF will remain still. To get S-ON back follow this guide. I'm sure, tested on my own Sensation
What would be the right order to go with:
Do you start with changing the SuperCID back to the original one forst or would you first have to go back to S-ON?
SIMPLY TELL ME ONE THING
that can we have official update after installing the latest ruu with s-on and unroot but with super cid?????
thanks
---------- Post added at 10:22 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:20 AM ----------
installing stock ruu doesnt change the phone to s-on or unroot.......but see the guide to do s-on then u might get the official updates
The ruu simply changes your rom to stock unrooted, changes radio, recovery and hboot. It doesn't change stuff like cid and s-off. In theory you can get ota updates with supercid and s-off. The only thing required, would be the stock recovery

Quick question, a few guides to going back to stock Sensation point or that you have to downgrade the firmware and radio. Is downgrading the radio (and firmware for that matter) necessary before flashing stock ROM with RUU? I did it with the last sensation before sending it in for warranty replacement, but only because the guide suggested it. But next time I wouldn't do it if I don't have to. Thanks ahead.

No it is not necessary. It will be required only if your device is S-ON and RUU version is older. Just remeber that if your phone is S-OFF and you want to put it S-ON again, do that after you have flashed stock ROM.

delete your firmawre from the sd card
on the 1.27 it says locked on the hboot but it doesn't .
try to flash 3.24 firmware i know it works perfect have not tried yet 3.30 ....
you should delete the fw after flashing from root sd card .......
Okay, I will try that. and yes, I know to delete off sd card after flash.

If not you can also flash this either via bootloader in pg58img.zip format, or by installing from market if you achieve rom boot.

Sorry I am so impatient, I just haven't had a phone for two days now and I am anxious to fix this. I also don't have the money to replace this phone either.

Always make a backup when you are flashing.
You could however try downloading one of Mike's (Android Revolution HD) firmware packages. I believe his 3.30 firmware package has custom unlocked HBOOT in it. Next unless you are SuperCID you'll need an RUU (rom) from HTC that supports your phone.
Put the firmware package on the root of your SD from you computer using a card reader. Flash the firmware. Power off and remove the firmware from SD card. Put the RUU on the SD card root.
See if you can boot into the recovery and flash this RUU. Best bet is something like ARHD, I've never had an issue with SuperCID and Mike's rom. Ideally if you get the phone functioning again. Think about SuperCIDing your phone. That way any rom that is supported by your firmware can get you out of trouble.
Another suggestion is that you've updated to rom that doesn't support your firmware. Try flashing to another firmware package, this may well fix your problem. Try one of the later ones (3.30) if that doesn't work. Track down a 3.12 which works with Gingerbread and ICS Roms.

because I just installed the correct firmware and attempted to flash a new rom and I am stil in bootloop.
@squash @jaysun - I would move straight to running ruu, this will return you to stock and you can start again.
Just run the ruu from your PC with device attached via USB and in boot loader.
If you are superCID you can run any ruu.
If not, match to your original software, baseband, carrier (if branded) and device.

I hate asking such noob questions, but I can't seem to match one to my phone.
when in fastboot, my phone says:
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.27.110
RADIO-11.21.3504.13_2
OpenADSP-v02.6.0.2226.00.0104

any idea which of the 53 is the right one? haha.
by the way, thank you so much for helping me out. like I know I am most liekly a pain in the butt, but I am a thankful one!
No worries at all.
So, if you have Sensation xe you need an ruu with "le" in the filename. If it's European, similar - choose European. If your phone was carrier specific e.g. Vodafone IT, pick that one.
That should narrow it to a few candidates.
Now you have to match to your original software and radio version if possible, do you know that?

So, if you have Sensation xe you need an ruu with "le" in the filename. If it's European, similar - choose European. If your phone was carrier specific e.g. Vodafone IT, pick that one.
That should narrow it to a few candidates.
Now you have to match to your original software and radio version if possible, do you know that?

Using the process of elimination, I have come to the conclusion that
RUU_Pyramid_TMOUS_1.29.531.2_Radio_10.42.9007.00
is the right one for my phone. I hope this works!
OK good. Worst case is it doesn't work.
In my experience the difficult bit is getting it off filestube! Good luck.

My hboot is 1.18 and I tried all ways to lock but all time it says
"Relocked
*security warning*
So can I flash ruu to get back to stock for ota

r u sure that i can flash the ruu to relock my phone successfull to get official updates from htc...or can i get official update with stock rom but "unlocked from htcdev.com"
with
"unlocked"
and s-on status in bootloader
The RUU won't run properly as with s-on you cannot flash radio.img or boot.img. This guide will help with either return to stock or root/s-off.
