[Solved]I need help please with ROM MANAGER - Verizon Droid Charge

i install this ROM Manager ClockworkMod
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.koushikdutta.rommanager&feature=more_from_developer
and i flash clockwork mod recovery and now my phone wont get in downloading mode when i press vol up and power.
also if i try to flash a rom it wont do it, how can i undo what i did which was flash the clockwork mod recovery ...? please help.

rom manager doesn't work for us... period. You need to flash a recovery via Odin. Then you can flash roms, themes, etc....
Also, this is the wrong place, this belongs in q&a. This place is for releases of roms and such.

Also here is the link to the recovery u need.

sorry i posted here, but everything u guys said worked out thanks.

Good.

Also, it wouldnt go into any type of recovery because when you flashed CWR from ROM Manager, it placed an update.zip in the root of your Micro SD Card. As long as an "update.zip" file is on your SD card, you will never get into the STOCK Recovery, however, you can get into CWR. I would delete update.zip just in case your phone somehow gets back to the stock recovery, so you can still wipe data/cache and all that!

ok i have never just put cwm on my phone through rom manager
i had krylons cwm first so im not sure if the process is different
i know in rom manager after you install it, it offers to go into cwm for you!
with krylons cwm you have to reboot into recovery then press the reinstall packages and your in cwm
but yea you should be able to get into cwm with rom manager
I don't have Krylon's cwm, but I did try to reinstall packages but I get and error msg. Does anybody know why.

yes because you havent put krylons cwm on there
reinstall packages works with his cwm
for rom manager you should just go into the app and it will give you the option to go into cwm from there for you

drhonk said not to use cwm from Rom Manager yet and to continue using the final version for now
Thanks guy appreciate you advice ill try it now.
I already have it and flashed from cwm. No issues to report so far. (but i haven't flashed anything other than the recovery and rebooted into it via Rom manager)
So far, backup from rom manager doesn't work, but if you do it manually....it still works fine. Partitioning works from within rom manager. Testing more.

I haven't flashed any ROM's yet but I downloaded ROM Manager and selected Flash ClockworkMod Recovery and it did so then I selected Reboot into Recovery and it took me to CWM. No need for Update.zip on your SD card anymore
Thanks for that. Me too. Saw Samsung Galaxy 4g in Flash Clockwork recovery menu, chose it and now reboot into recovery take me directly to CWM instead of stock recovery and install update.zip

koush just updated it, recovery and backup in rom manager are now working
I just made a backup using rom manager.I haven't flashed anything yet because I'm on the train heading to work.
If someone could tell me if rom manager fixes our mount issue or we still need to do it ourselves before flashing I would appreciate it.
I don't want to experiment on the train lol.
Thank you

are you running a stock deodexed rom?
if he said stock rooted im going to guess prob a no
can you get into recovery or download mode at all?
im on the stock one, whatever came with the phone, yes i can get in recovery and download mode
you need cwm final from krylon360 u can find it in the bible and also you will need the modified recovery file and a deodexed rom u can get from the bible follow the directions and then u can have your kernel

the update zip goes on the root of the sd card
meaning not in a folder dont extract it just copy it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117554
after you odin according to the noobs guide to odin in the bible,
go to krylons final cwm. his directions are pretty straightforward. i used root explorer to move the recovery file where it needed to be and placed the update.zip file on the root of your sd, which means that if you connect your phone to the computer and open it using windows explorer, it is that first window, which lists all of the folders. dont put these files in folders or anything.
i am assuming you downloaded the rom already from the CWM rom section in the bible. its up to you. im biased towards bionix frost because it was what i started with, but you HAVE to check out team acids new roms!
i would also dl bali 3.3 kernel as well. place all of the zip files you download into the root of your sd card..
once that is done, i restarted my phone in recovery by shutting down fully and pressing the power+volume up+volume down. once there, i went to reinstall packages to get into cwm.
then when this loads, i wiped the system/factory reset and wiped the cache. then i went to mounts and storage and mounted my system. (the final mounting output should be: unmount, mount, mount, unmount). i then scrolled to "go back"
i choose install zip file from sd card. choose zip file, which should be the second option if my memory serves me right. choose your cwm flashable rom and install that one. then when that is done, went back and went to advanced and rebooted recovery and flashed my bali uv kernel. when that is flashed, i click go back and choose reboot system. once that is done, you will see the galaxy s screen for like 5 min or so followed by the boot animation. once you see this, it will take another minute or so to load up. once you see that the rom loads up...LET THE PHONE SIT FOR 10 minutes. i know it seems long, but just let it sit.
after 10 min or so, i would go into your about phone options and check and see that you have bali and that the rom is correct.
you can flash a modem too using the same process as flashing any other zip file.
remember, the first option in choosing a zip file is update.zip from krylons final cwm. do not flash this after the rom/ext/whatever. im not sure if this has been addressed (im still a noob), but everytime i did that, i bricked my phone. lol. so just to answer your question before you wonder...cause i always wondered whether i should flash that or not. lol. you do nothing with that update.zip. once you restart, and you see that you have bali 3+, you can delete that update.zip because it is no longer needed.
make sure you read through the original threads too before flashing.
gotcha, so all i need is the update.zip file? do i need the binary file?
yay! workssss, thanks everybody

Thank you.
Please can someone help me answer this.
I have no idea what you're talking about. Can you rephrase your statement or question or whatever it is?
DOS.... wtf?
Suing people.... wtf?
If you're trying to apply a custom ROM, then go ahead and install "ROM Manager" from the Market. Then download a ROM to your internal SD. Then install ClockWorkManager. Then boot to CWM and apply the ROM from SD card.

on my old phone i used odin to flash ROMS. I tried doing the volume up/down and power on this DOS Root I did and it did not show any back up/restore or new flash options. thats why I was confused.
Downloaded ROM Manager but The Samsung Galaxy Skyrocket isn't listed in order to install Clockwork Manager. Only the Tmobile Galaxy S II is listed.
Read this thread and follow the instructions carefully. Itll give you cwm recover and tell u how to boot into it so then download a rom place on you sd card boot into cwm. Wipe data factory reset 3 times then clear chache 3 times the go to advanced clear davlik cache 3 times then install zip from sd card

Help please

I rooted my phone and I go into rom manger and try to download a rom and it dont load. i got one from here and put it on the external sd can it still wont load is ther something i missing. or doing wrong. please help thank you.
You say your phone is rooted, so go into Rom Manager and flash Clockwork Mod Recovery. It will be the top option. There isn't one for the Skyrocket so choose the one for the T-Mobile Galaxy S2.
Than reboot into recovery and do a Nandroid backup. Than do a factory reset and wipe cache. Than you will choose install .zip from sd card. Find the .zip on your sd card and install it.
If all goes well you should be running a custom ROM now.
You need to download the roms on xda in the development section. And then put them on your sd card
After installing cwm recovery for the tmobile gs2
Yeah, I forgot to mention that part.

the issue lies in that the only way to install the custom rom is to upgrade my custom recovery to the latest one, and thanks for your response!
EDIT: I researched online and found a method with fastboot and the recovery image, I will try this, is this a wrong method or is it possible?
You don't need fastboot at all if you already have a custom recovery installed. Just download the cwm flashable zip and flash it just like you would a rom (install zip from sd card > choose zip from internal/external > choose the cwm zip and choose install, then choose the recovery option to reboot recovery to boot into the new recovery.

If you have CWM or ClockWork Mod installed on your phone.
----- ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS PUT THE CWM TOUCH ZIP FILES ON YOUR EXTERNAL SD CARD AND NOW GO TO RECOVERY MODE AND FLASH IT, GO TO INSTALL FROM SD CARD, I'M PRETTY SURE YOU KNOW IT? OR IF NOT MESSAGE ME I'LL HELP YOU STEP BY STEP.
If you DON'T have CWM.
----- download a cwm and flash it through odin and after having cwm, do that instruction above.
