Maybe it is not the best 7" Android tablet, but you could find it with Rock-chip rk2918(Cortex A8 1.2GHz) process and 7“ TFT(1024 x 600).
The main feature of this tablet is that it provide the much thinner(Thickness only 9.4mm) tablet than others.
This tablet solution has just released by Giayee which is an Android IDH from Shenzhen, China.
I just get the sample images and the main feature(M703):
Rock-chip RK2918, A8 1.2GHz
512MB DDR3 + 4G FLASH
Android 2.3 OS
7“ TFT(1024 x 600) + Capacitive TP
WIFI、GPS, G-sensor , Compass, Gyro, HDMI etc
2MP back camera , LED Flash
0.3MP front camera
Thickness only 9.4mm

Good spec
How many cost?
It's not really thin though is it? The iPad 2 (probably the most popular tablet) and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (probably the second most popular tablet) are both considerably thinner.
this is probably a lot cheaper....but where can I purchase these things?
You can find many more on their site too, they're all similar in specs. I can't post links, too few posts, but Google "Shenzhen Highkee Electronic Technology" and around the 3rd link down look for one with "highkee" in the URL. It has a menu on the side to find their android tablets. But judging from their business model, they may not sell direct, you'd have to go through another company - they sell in bulk unit orders (minumum appears to be 500).
Sure these might have been the kind I saw in street market stalls when I was on holiday last month, they seem to fit the bill. The M703 one looks quite nice but the screen quality is what always bothers me when buying new stuff.
Looks great How much this cost?
I really like this thread
where can i buy one?
I want one.
The guy with the candle iPad at the Steve Jobs memorial. I want to be him with this tablet.
Where can i buy one though?

Anyways, does this thing have access to the market?
It has some in China, and will wait for some time for oversea market.
By the way, if you are China, you could find their company, or you could find the official site(giayee.com)

this is a joke. I could find this tablet(M703) and this tablet is just another company- Giayee technology Co.Ltd.(ocuses on R&D and production of Android Tablets and Mobile Phones).
So in other words these are ONLY available in China?
you can find those in Deal Extreme
those tablets are not the greatest
but good enough for games and web browsing
Interesting what quality they have. Cheap is not always better.
wow... nice specs.. i hope the quality and chips are good as well...

Hi boys and girls!
I was planning on buying the new Diamond 2 as soon as it hit the shelves here in Norway, but as HTC still thinks I should pay for the repair of an USB port which was DOA I have decided to try to find some other phone...
So - anyone have any good suggestions?
Cheers!
Nokia 5110
I prefer the lime green casing myself, but that is personal preference, as is selecting a device or a type of wine.

@ Red: Thanks for the suggestion, but I find it too small for my liking. My three "musts" are:
1. The handset need to be sturdy. If i forget my hammer, I need something to hit other drivers with.
2. Must come with its own backpack, and the fabric must be washable.
3. I sometimes use the phone in my care, so the top part must be possible to detach from the battery. There just isn't space in my estate car to have the battery in the front.
My best bet til now is this model:

haha great response. With all honesty go with something a bit inexpensive in the meantime if you are waiting for TP2 to be released in your country.
Actually, I'd rather go for something NOT from HTC...
Go for Touch Pro 2 or Toshiba TG01
Or buy the new HTC Touch HD ...
Thanks for the suggestion. Will have to have a look at the Toshiba. As for HTC, I'd really like to stuff the aforementioned phone (the Ericsson) somewhere the sun don't shine. Unfortunately, I think I will have to use "most people" as a baseline for sun-exposure, as I have a feeling these guys (?) do a lot of "work" on all fours
I understand your reluctance to get a HTC again I for one have a HD which is actually really good although when i first brought one it had 3 dead pixels and although htc wouldnt replace it the shop i brought it from would, now after 3 months or so my replacement has just developed a stuck pixel which I have never seen before I've has so many products with lcd screens and worked in a shop for a bit that sold them and only ever seen them come with a dead/stuck pixel. its not really noticeable but very annoying considering the price of the phone. So I was thinking thats the last time i buy a htc but then I realized there isn't any 1 else who makes anything near as good in terms of features and looks.
my first choice would be the hd
go for the HD or a super processor snapdragon on the Toshiba TG01

The sexiest Android tablet ever, the Samsung Galaxy Tab is official now – pics are out, as well as official video. And the spec sheet, is mind-blowing!
Samsung P1000 Galaxy Tab is a sleek big-sized Android phone! It’s expected to be released in this month itself. GSMArena got hands-on pics. It got 7 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display, capable of displaying 16 million colours, with multi-touch functionality. Galaxy Tab would come with 16GB and 32GB internal storage, with 512MB RAM. It also got microSD card slot, having extra memory up to 32GB. The combination of ARM Cortex A8 1GHz processor and the well-optimized Android 2.2 (Froyo) operating system, would be somewhat appreciable.

Fring on Galaxy Tab.
Are there prices yet or we are still in the blue about it? I would also prefer if it came with linux (easier to run windows applications on it via wine)

It has a 7-inch WSVGA TFT-LCD color display with 1024-by-600 pixel resolution. (Source: http://www.pcworld.com/article/204747/meet_the_galaxy_tab.html?tk=hp_new)
And guess what? Fring works "fringing awesome" on Galaxy Tab.
It wont be the iPad killer unless it gets marketed as such. I even seen music videos with the artist using iPads. I wonder how much Apple pays them to do that? "Heres a free iPad and 50 bucks to have you show it off in your music video" sheesh.
Hands on with it.http://www.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-tab-hands-video
Shame they didn't put at least even and OLED screen on there.
Might have to get one of these badboys! Very sexy indeed.
This will fail pretty badly.
It is not because of Android, it is not because of the hardware.
But the PRICE!
http://www.engadget.com/2010/09/02/samsung-galaxy-tab-reported-to-retail-at-699-and-799-in-europe/
700 - 800 euro???
INSANE!
iPad will be better option in this price with larger screen, doubled internal memory size and better battery.
Good God, Samsung just cannot do business.

It still wouldn't be able to run wine if it had Linux on it.
I don't know a 1GHZ single core processor for a next gen table? I was at least hoping for 1.6 dual core.

Is it that expensive? No way of it being in any way successful. The iPad is a far better choice IMHO.
lol this just pretty much killed it. Apple could sell stuff for 600+ euros and someone would probably still buy because of the brand name but Samsung, some not-so-well-known brand name comes and attempts to sell an "ipad killer". If it had great specs and a decent price, it would definitely live up to its name but this is just disappointing

Agreed. I've long been a Tablet PC owner (HP TC1100) and the iPad is an absolutely killer machine compared to all the other tablets I've ever used. Of course, it's not a Win / x86 machine, but, for my needs (Web browsing, reading / searching in books, playing back videos) it's WAY better than anything else I've ever tested. And, on top of that, it has a GREAT battery life.

Does that bulky black plastic surround look familiar? It's becoming standard uniform for Android tablets at the $250 price point like the Nook Color and now ViewSonic's latest offering, the ViewBook 730. Basic specs also look pretty similar -- the ViewBook has a 7-inch screen (albeit with a 800x480 resolution, lower than the Nook's), 8GB of internal storage and an SD card slot. But the 730 does have some significant advantages over its older rival: notably a front-facing VGA camera and a faster 1Ghz Cortex-A8 processor (versus 800Mhz on the Nook Color) that claims to handle 1080p video and output it via an HDMI port. Plus there's full Android 2.2 instead of the Nook Color's walled-off ecosphere. Interestingly, the ViewBook also tries to distinguish itself with stylus support for note-taking -- akin to the HTC Flyer. Goes to show you can't judge a multi-function e-reader by its bezel. Hit the PR after the break to see if this budget tablet will tick your boxes when it arrives at the end of June.
The gtablet is the last Viewsonic product I will buy.
The specs look good, I wonder what GPU it has in it that can cope with 1080p output?
Like the stylus support, so its like a budget Flyer for note taking!
Not being Honeycomb is a dissapointment
No mention of USB, I woud love it if a 7" tablet had a full USB with host capabilities.

Absolutely. Do they really expect anyone who dealt with them during the GTab mess, to purchase another device?
The main reason the GTab sold so well was because the Devs supported it. Are we to expect them to hop on board another ViewSonic device and do it again? I don't and wouldn't if I were them.
Does anyone really have confidence that ViewSonic won't treat this device as it did the Gtab? This is the reason why it's extremely important for a company to support it's product, because that first impression is all they have to carry them forward for the next device.
I vote, "lack of confidence" in their company and so no more ViewSonic for me.
Agreed. If they can drop support on one tablet, then the precedent has been set.
Going to use Cowon, as an example to the contrary. Their D3 PMP was released a few months back, with Android 2.1 and bugs. I eventually bought the device because I know Cowon's history of listening to their users, fixing bugs and offering updates a year (or longer) after a device is released.
My point is that post-support is important to me, and I will remember what a company has done when it comes time to upgrade to a newer device. In the case of Viewsonic, I will never buy a tablet from them again - I have no faith that they will will support it more than a few months. The GTAB is a great modder's device, but that doesn't mean that vendor support still isn't important.
I also know that Viewsonic just slapped their name on the GTAB and its really US Merchants that is the vendor, but to be honest that doesn't matter to me. Viewsonic made this decision to put their name on the device, so like it or not it's theirs to deal with. If they can't control USM, then I suggest that their CEO call USM's CEO and rip him/her a new one until they fix these things - if this was important enough to them, they'd get it done.

I agree with you. I'm disappointed the company has ceased offering updates, but I thank the dev's here for making the gTablet a very useful product. I use this thing when traveling and for taking notes. The forum participants have found some very useful apps, and I appreciate that.
I see the day coming when I'll go to a 3G/4G/WiFi tablet with GPS, dropping the smartphone and the data plan, and reverting to a plain cell phone. For these old eyes, the larger tablet screen is easier to read. So far, however, I haven't seen any new tablet with a developed feature set at the right price point. I get the impression that many of the newer products have been rushed to market without complete development (e.g., Xoom), For me, there's no compelling reason to jump ahead now.

Known mostly for budget-friendly phones with not very hot tech specs in the U.S., Pantech might be looking to upgrade its playing league. We haven’t yet heard anything clear about the recently teased Flex, but the Vega S5, Star Q 4G LTE and Marauder looked like much more than the modest gadgets we’ve been used to see from Pantech.
Now a new Pantech-made phone has been leaked, and, although it’s not exactly a contender for the Galaxy S3 or HTC One X, it might come with high-end-ish specs. The Magnus (which is Latin for “great”) seems to be on its way to AT&T and might enjoy a release by the end of September.
First spotted getting FCC approval at the beginning of August under the P9090 codename, the Magnus now stars in a leaked pic that can only mean one thing. Someone is trying to build hype around the handheld, so a launch is imminent.
The photo doesn’t reveal much about the “Great”, aside from the featuring of an 8MP rear-facing camera with flash and the inclusion of a front-facing webcam (most likely a 1.3MP one). Still, we can easily tell that the phone will be running ICS out of the box or maybe even Jelly Bean, having some juicy on-screen navigation buttons.
A few other tech specs have been rumored before, including the featuring of a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 processor, an Adreno 225 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of on-board memory and a 720p HD display. The screen will probably measure around 4.3 inches in diagonal, although it could go up to 4.5.
As for the design, this is actually quite intriguing. The front is not very original or unusual, looking kind of bland even, but the back is a whole different story. There are not only sexy curves there, but also quirky bumps, which makes this look a bit like HTC’s Incredibles. This is clearly one love or hate design point, and, while some will find it innovative, cool and special, others will most likely call it ugly or tacky. I for one kind of like it, because, even if it’s not the absolute most elegant phone ever, it’s not ordinary either.
We of course know nothing about the Magnus’ price or exact release date, but as soon as we’ll find out something we’ll let you know. For now, tell us if you’re at least intrigued about the phone’s design and rumored spec sheet.

So what do you think? Will it be big? Personally i have the pantech burst and it's a very good phone but we have so few developers. So will this be on top? or a flop?
I think this is a great phone in todays market even including LTE capability, if price would be around usd. 250,-
Can this phone be purchased WITHOUT an ATT-plan ?
I would like to use it in Europe (Netherlands), so where to buy ?
Anyone...
interesting, I've never paid attention to them before but more variety and competition is a good thing.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
witch origine it is ?
If it is priced right (around 199) i think it would do well. If it is priced more than 200 i would just save up for the GS3 or OneX
Will it be released in indonesia ?
Sent from my GT-I9070 using xda app-developers app
it has AT&T branding.. seems like only America will get it? and its probably available so cheap because of subsidies.
Wonder how it compares with the pantech maurader, battery life on it was terrible. had some nice features for older people.

Review and rooting guide below.
Review
Performance- The Mediatek chip performs exceptionally well in this device. I'm pretty impressed with what this company has been doing with its cpu stuff lately.
Build- It feels solid.
LTE- Many low budget phones are still shipping with HSPA, so it's nice to see LTE in this one.
Display- It's not really a bad display, but it's clear that it's a cheaper panel. Really just way too cool in my opinion.
On screen keys- these are literally the best thing they have done on the phone
Android 5.1- I seriously doubt it'll ever see any update, which is a bummer.
When it comes to looks, I'm kind of torn on how I feel about the Xfire. On one hand, I think it's kind of OK looking; on the other, I think it looks cheap. The thing is, I can't really tell what it is that makes me think the latter - perhaps (most likely?) it's the plastic back. It doesn't really look terrible, but it doesn't really scream "premium" to me either.
The overall size and form factor are pretty great, though. It's got a 5-inch display, which is a really nice size no matter how you slice it. It also feels very solid and well-made - not at all like a $50 phone. The build quality definitely offers the more premium feel that I like to see on more low budget phones
Camera - the camera is pretty rock solid on this one, check out some pictures i took
Software - This phone runs vanilla android and is all but stock with some minor "useful" software customizations offered.
Performance and benchmark - this device performance good and doesnt lag, also the multitasking is pretty good.
i have performed antutu benchmark and here are the results
Conclusion - i really love this device, i bought this device as an extra if at all i brick my main devices due to rom testing .this little 50$ beast is perfectly standing upto its price and delivering its best
Rating -
Rooting
Rooting the phone is as simple as installing a app,
just install kingroot apk from below and install it
open it, follow on screen instructions

Alright thanks for the reply though
maybe there is somebody able to make one, and would be nice to know if xposed was running than?! I read on some reviews that it should get marshmallow, can anybody confirm that? and what about the promised roms cm and miui?!
thanks man.
how much is left in the internal memory, for apps? is it a one partition system, or two?
5,04 gb is left, one partition.
Nobody interested in doing some development for the xfire?
There is a new official rom for the xfire.

Did not note any (visible) changes.
How to get this phone with $50, it costs more than $70 in all stores?! Thanks!
