[Q] Kernel suggestions for i9020T running MIUI 1.6.3?

Just flashed latest MIUI rom onto my i9020T. Curious about custom kernels. Any suggestions?
Netarchy's kernel. Find it on Dev forums
Use the universal one.
I like netarchy kernel also with the added under volting. BE CAREFUL DOING THIS. I'm 40 mv lower then the default values. I get great battery life, almost 30 heavy use.
I've read through that and from the jist of it Netarchy universal 2.3.3 seems the most stable. But MIUI 1.6 is 2.4 based so how does that stand with/against the 2.3.3 kernel?

2.3.7, Stock Rom, Rooted - Which Seat (kernel) should I take?

Hey Guys,
Figured I would draw on your collective knowledge and/or opinions.
My device is stock, just upgraded to 2.3.7, rooted, CWM 5.0.2.0.
I've peeked at the stickied thread with a list of kernels, but that hasn't necessarily helped me make a decision.
Mainly I am interested in over-clocking, however if there are some extras thrown in (such as the ability to actually use VPN with a PPTP VPN) that would be cool.
I'm not looking for a complete ROM, just the kernel.
Ideas?

Nice Friday reference
Btw wrong section Haha.
Umm... I have a biased answer: Matr1x

Wanted to add some more info:
Current Kernel:
$ uname -a
Linux localhost 2.6.35.7-gf5f63ef #1 PREEMPT Tue Aug 2 13:57:05 PDT 2011 armv7l
GNU/Linux
I'd rather not backrev my kernel if possible, unless there wouldn't be an issue running 2.3.7 with an older kernel (presuming 2.3.7 changed it).
Is there an easy way to back up my current kernel to revert to in case the new kernel install goes awry?

Harsh kernel works with any ICS rom includeing HFS 1.6
In most kernel posts they will state what roms or Android version it is compatible with...usually at the beginning of thread

What Rom/Kernel combination do you use?

Hi everyone,
there are already a few threads but not new.
so i want to learn your decisions about roms and kernels. I am using Eaglesblood 4.0.3 + trinity kernel right now, but i am not happy because it is not really stable. For example i cannot record 1080p !!! I want to use a stable rom and kernel. It has to be android 2.3.x or higher at least. By the way when I install harsh kernel my phone says your sd card and phone memory is damaged. I could not solve that problem.
Thank you

Stick with CM7 ROMS or Rooted Mod Stock ROMs.
My favorite is BuROM Modded Stock with Faux Kernel 14_b2
OR
CM7 Nightly 135.1 with Faux Kernel 52
CM 7.2 Official with Faux 52
CM 7.2 Nightlies and Faux v52 LG Stock stable
I believe we have a consensus starting, lol notice the trend?

lol cm7.2 + faux won the consensus congrats..
I personally have issues with Trinity kernels that I don't have with faux. I say faux based off personal experience.
If you need any of his older kernels that are not available anymore, I have several GB and CM7 kernels of his uploaded . So if you want an older version, pm me for links.

What's the difference between "P999-CM-Kernel-052-sv-lg-stable.zip" and "P999-CM-Kernel-052-sv-stable.zip" at http://faux.androidro.ms/?
And any idiots guides to installing rom/kernel? I want to install CM 7, currently using stock unrooted 2.3.4 and 21y.

"lg" means low grade, that one is for phones that can't handle the higher CPU clock speeds.

getting back on topic...
another vote for trinity..
either CM 7.2 nightly + trinity elp or HFP 2.3 + trinity elp
Morfic's kernels work much better on my phone (LG-P999DW) + 21y baseband...
21e baseband *never* worked quite right for my phone, even on stock.

the LG means stock LG voltages and is unable to control undervolting. the other is for if you plan to undervolt with an app like SetCPU.

Until official ICS is released for the P990 or the Kernel for the SU660, the fastest ROMs are going to be GB ROMs.
Pre-ICS Release (Performance): GB > ICS > JB
Post-ICS Release (Performance): ICS/JB > GB

That really depends on the end user as well as your skill set.
If your good at tweaking settings and understand what these settings are and do, than a CM7 ROM like Hellfire Phenoix v2.3 or temasek CM7 nightly 135.1
Than you gotta pick your kernel, which comes down to user preference.
Most people prefer Morfics Trinity kernel with CM7, I myself prefer Faux's kernels.
Once again, this comes down to your skillset as you will want to play with settings for each kernel and compare them back to back with same setups for your daily use to than find which one suits you better. This also goes for ROMs as well, I've tested tons of ROMs with different mixes of kernels to find what best suits me, but what may suit me may cause problems for someone else.
The consensus is temasek's nightly CM7 Build 135.1 w/ Trinity Kernel.
If your not into all the "tweaking" stuff than just go with a ROM that's rooted stock, like BuROM v0.2 and a GB kernel, like Fauxs GB kernel. lol
Make sure you don't use stock GB kernels with CM7 ROMs and vice versa.
I can get you links if your having trouble finding stuff.
thanks, ill try one of the cm7 roms
