[Q] Am i bricked? - Samsung Galaxy Fit GT 5670

I bought galaxy fit just a week ago and rooted it 4 days ago. It worked fine after rooting.
Today, i was trying to install an update.zip with DSP manager and i got this message
"finding the package ....bla bla bla
installation started
installation aborted"
I thought i failed and selected to reboot the device. Now my phone is stuck at a screen with "SAMSUNG" written on it and vibrates every now and then.
** i see the boot animation
** I can enter the debug (or whatever) mode. Where we can update from an update.zip and reset
So my question is "AM i bricked??? How do i recover?

Boot in Recovery " Home + Power Key "
Select "Wipe Data" or something like that in recovery and then reboot.

Is it possible to recover without wiping the data? I don't want to loose my customizations and apps on phone

There is no way around this....

OMG!!!! i doesn't work!!
wipe data/factory reset -

Data wipe complete
wipe cache partition -

When rebooted, it again stuck on the screen with "SAMSUNG" written on it. Does that mean i killed my phone?

naa
Flash cwm through odin , do backup through it, then flash a new firmware..
Flash cwm again and restore everything other than system through advanced restore.
That's what I would have done.
(At your own risk)

Can you give CWM zip?? the only method i found is through ROM manager.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1277759
I havent tried out the zip method(if there is any)..Download cwm from above link and use odin to flash it in download mode(power+center+down volume button)

Do not use ROM MANAGER. You will brick your phone for real

Its not totally bricked. anyway flash clockworkmod and then flash another rom but first make sure you made a backup of your ROM through the Clockwork Mod so you can revert back to that rom from before and then flash a new rom and it should boot up.
like what the above poster said ^

Not bricked
Same thing happened to me last week
i installed creed's rom v1.0 via odin.
Cleared user data and wiped cache .
And it rebooted perfectly.

No you haven't bricked your phone dude....the same thing happened to me and all what I did was I reflashed CWM and then installed CM 7.1...and my phone was back to normal....

Ok if you heve stock and second init recovery then nothing is lost. What CWM- says is totally OK. And stock recovery always unable to read /cache/recovery/command.
What firmware were you on when installed second init? You sould try to restore the nandroid of that firmware with CWM.
If you wiped your phone with stock recovery then CWM will not work then you should flash your stock sbf with RSD lite.
ok will try when I get back home and will post the results
note: im on cm7 beta 6 b4 this happened.
Sent from my MB525 using XDA Premium App
You have to go back to Nordic, via RSD Lite .
Flash the full rom, since you already flashed the whole sbf one time, you won't be worry about downgradability, it's lost.
Then wipe again, at the end the cwm should work as expected.
Just as a note after i flashed the full Nordic sbf i got stuck so i went into stock recovery and wiped data etc. This let me boot the nordic rom. Then just need to root, install 2nd init and reinstall cm7
yay! now im on cm7 and will check if the errors are still there
and btw how do I go back to 2.2.2 stock in order to install ephunord rom
edit:
custom recovery says
E:unable to read cahe/recovery/command
E:unable to read cahe/recovery/starter
then when wiping dalvik cache on cwm
when pressing wipe dalvik cache
E:unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]
then when I confirm it it says
dalvik cache wiped.
is it normal?
can't install the google apps package too downloaded many times but it always end up on bad installation or something
wew im so stressed with my phone right now

unless i force format it w/ fat16 from my pc.but it shouldnt be an issue.
well i get those kinds of errors too.i cant flash the gapps zip for the cm7

[Q] Bricked P5100? Help please!

My P5100 had CM10 nightly on it and was running fine until I upgraded to the latest version of CM10 after wiping the cache & Dalvik cache. After the upgrade I couldn't get Google Play to run even after wiping its data and fixing permissions so I tried to do a CWM restore. Unfortunately there was a fault restoring the Data partition and now my tablet is stuck at the animated bootscreen. If I long-press the power button it powers off but immediately restarts. There is no way to start in in recovery or flash mode. I've plugged it into my PC and the Samsung Android ADB interface is showing but the other references to the tablet all have a yellow triangle in Device Manager. I'm hoping some clever person can help me rescue the tablet with ADB. Thanks!

IF CWM is not working use Odin to flash CWM again then use CWM to flash CM10,
You may need to do a factory reset (full wipe) from CWM.
If all else fails use Odin to flash stock JB ROM

Just for the record you can install adb on the pc and run the command 'adb reboot recovery'. This will force the tablet to reboot in recovery mode.

Jeez, this has taken up most of the day to fix. I came across many problems I have not previously experienced:
1. When the tablet was stuck at the boot animation and I tried to turn it off by long-pressing the power button it immediately restarted. The only way I could get it to turn off was by long-pressing the power button whilst it was connected to my PC.
2. Flashing the stock ROM with Odin appeared to complete successfully but it would never fully boot, it always got stuck at the black & white Samsung screen. Same problems turning it off as above.
3. Flashing CWM with Odin caused the tablet to reboot into the stock ROM which would not load, in the end I had to untick the "reboot" button in Odin, power it off then manually restart with the Vol- & power buttons.
4. The only way I could get a bootable ROM was by flashing CM10 with CWM. I tried to restore 2 previous CWM backups but on each occasion there was an error restoring the Data partition and I got stuck at the scenario at (1). The backups were made to the external SD card with CWM Touch - is the Touch version unreliable?
I would be really interested if anyone could shed any light on any of this stuff!
For how long did you let it install during the first reboot? It happened to me too, and it took about 10 minutes, maybe even more...
Also, did you try in the "Mount and storage" cwm menu the options "format system", "format data", "format cache" and "format preload" options, prior to re-flashing a ROM? I have read somewhere that for a clean install it's better to do this, as it really clears everything that could mess up the system between two different bases ROMs (like CM and stock).
What I do everytime is using in CWM these 4 "format" options, plus "wipe" system, cache and dalvik, then immediately after this I flash with cwm the new "zip" copied on the card. Then the first reboot is much longer than usual, as at this stage it installs the files, rebuild the dalvik cache etc.
Good luck

I think I gave it a good 20 mins to boot. When I got up this morning there was an error message saying that there was no room to install any more apps even though I had very few installed. Settings -> Storage would not calculate the space available so I figured that the partitions had become corrupted. I did the step by step format you described and reflashed & it all seems to be OK now.

[Q] Trouble Flashing ROM

Got to the point in the How-to guide that says "Navigate to ‘wipe data/factory reset’ and select it.
Navigate to the ‘yes -- delete all user data’ and select it."
Trouble is I get "E: format volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p2" and "Formatting /sdcard/ .android_secure..." and a non-functioning progress bar at the bottom.
Is this a battery pull, power off, reboot into recovery? Phone has been stuck like this for more than 30 minutes.
Edit:
Ok, after an hour I powered off and back on, seems like I have a brand new SK stock ROM again >.<
Another edit:
Tried again, same exact thing on wipe data/factory reset: "E: format volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p2."
Do I need to flash the kernel like on this video? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W33fcnWAgQg) If so, I'm not sure which kernel to use. I was hoping to flash to the JB ROM which says it contains Bali kernel.
This is no longer fun and all of my data is wiped. LOL even the Play Store is now Android Market like way back when and won't update!

Once you have CWM on your phone, you don't need to run the update.zip file every you want to flash a ROM. That's it unless you go back to stock via Odin or Heimdall.

[Q] Odin back to UCLB3 (2.3.6.) ATT logo loop + rfs format failed

Hi all,
hope you can help me with this one...
I came from Beanstalk 4.4.240, rooted it way back, everything worked fine.
Now I wanted to get back to stock 2.3.6.... First I tried Heimdall, but its not detecting the phone, although Windows does (Sound at USB connection).
Therefore I switched to Odin as described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1613523
I used the Option A, adhered to all the rules (including step 4 of wiping cache and data).
Odin flashed successfully.
After reboot though I get the following error in the red recovery mode (after the update package installed successfully):
"e: format_volume: rfs format failed on dev-block-stl10"
"wipe cache not successful"
I then did the cache wipe manually, and it does it successfully.
Upon rebooting though its stuck on the ATT logo loop...
When I then go into recovery mode, the following message appears:
"e:copy_dbdata_media: cant mount /dbdata your storage not prepared yet, please use UI menu for fomrat and reboot actions
Media files copy failed.
#Manual Mode#
...
Successfully applied multi-CSC"
Any ideas what to do here? I'm thinking it could be a partitioning problem...
I just want to make sure I flash the correct thing to fix this...
Oh and currently I moved on to Option B of the odin pack from above in the hope it could fix it - flash is successful, but error messages are completly the same...
Any help is highly appreciated!!!
Fixed
So I tried a different package with PIT, PDA & Phone (this buddy here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27286083)
...and it worked!! Im back at stock

[Q] Moto G XT1033 not charging after bootloop

Hello guys, i have Moto G 1st Gen. Indian version (XT1033) running android 5.0.2... Yesterday i rooted my moto g by unlocking bootloader and flashing TWRP 2.8.6.0-XT1032 & SuperSU 2.45... During the process there was some error (like general unlock failure, wipe partition failure etc). I ignored them and continued... It was booted normally... Then i installed Root Checker and confirmed that root has been done successfully....
After that i tried to make a Nandroid backup using TWRP. Message popped up saying that backup is successful.. Then i pressed reboot system. Then it went into bootloop (stuck at bootloader unlocked warning message). :crying:
When this happened, i thought to flash recovery again and flash stock rom. By the time i downloaded stock rom, the phone discharged completely. Now the phone is not charging I have tried using usb charging through pc and using socket charger, but it's stuck at 0%... (I have kept it for hours) Sometime it try to boot and bootloader unlocked warning appears and stuck there.. after sometime it again go into battery charging logo with 0% and then repeat the process again.. When i try using usb cable, the same cycle continues with frequent connecting and disconnecting... :crying:
What to do now ? I guess it's not possible to flash stock rom without any charge... How to charge my phone ? What other option(s) do i have ?
PS : Sorry if this has been already discussed.

You must not use TWRP from its official site
Those people have not fixed this ****ty bug and many people have got bootloops due to this including me
Use the one available in xda
Solution-
Try to boot the phone in bootloader mode
Whenever the device shows the moto logo immediately press and hold power button and as soon as the screen goes black immediately press and hold power + volume down bottom and it should boot into bootloader
Charge the phone through a USB in bootloader mode
And then either flash the stock firmware again or use custom ROMs

It appears that all your partitions are corrupted
You need to format them
In TWRP format ( not wipe) all partitions
The option to format data partition is straight forward and given in wipe menu
For other partitions (system ,cache) go to wipe---> advanced wipe and change the file system of system and cache partition to ext4 ( don't change to anything else)
This will format them
Try this and then try to do normal wipes and see if you are successful and report back

Yes, now format is successful. Formatting data for first time showed some error but in second time it was successful.
So, what to do now ? I want to go to stock.. So, anything in that direction will be helpful..
Can i flash the link i have posted ? if yes, then do i need to flash radio firmware ?

The link you posted is not pure stock
Its optimised means it is a custom version of stock ROM
The same dev ( @lost101 ) also provides pure versions of stock rom flashable through recovery so try that if you want a pure Motorola ROM
But I suggest you to use CM 12.1 now, as its based on android 5.1.1 its always better then stock 5.0.2 in terms of stability plus you get plenty of customization options and there's already a built in root manager
And the ROM is getting better day by day
So finally its your choice
PS:- No need to flash radio

I already flashed that customised rom.. And also the radio firmware.. Everything is fine now..
I have always wanted to flash CM but stepped back because it is nightly build... However, i have also heard that it is very stable and you are also saying that... So, thinking of flashing that... Please give me the link which to flash & link for gapps if needed... I have just recovered my phone after a long battle and don't want to screw up now by flashing wrong rom..:fingers-crossed:
PS : I don't know how to thank you.. You are a savior man.. This is my first time in unlocking ,rooting and all that stuff and i screw up the thing.. Again, thank you for your help...:good::good:

As a general info, just don't play with fastboot commands and now don't try to flash stock firmware through fastboot again as it most likely will mess with your partitions
And for trying different ROMs you need a backed up system and data partition with a fully working recovery, then experiment with whatever ROM you want there is no harm ( if the ROM don't boot you can force reboot and restore the backup you made)
Link to CM 12.1 nightlies

And just so you know cm is fully stable, I have been using it for three months and I never looked back at stock ones
So flash the latest nightly

Happy flashing
