Congrats guys! We got our forum.
I love my A2. Let's get crackin on recovery.
To get recovery you will first have to unlock the bootloader. I'm looking to save up for the atrix2. Accepting donations from some of my roms in order to buy one. Once I get one I'm gonna try to unlock the bootloader and get recovery running. Then make a bloatware free ROM

Nice! I had an inspire for a while and loved all the dev support. I'm hoping you'll save up soon! I used an upgrade from another one of my lines to get the rebate, and am totally satisfied.
A lot of people complain it's not much of an upgrade from the original, but i think its by far superior in every way. It still has a 1ghz dual-core processor, but i find it much more responsive and smoother than the original atrix. Same resolution and size of the inspire screen, but it seems to be a bit brighter. looks really clean.

Thanks to the Admin(s) who listened to us and made this forum possible, we have Atrix 2 forums on other boards but at XDA I feel we have a home!
Another thanks goes to all you A2 owners out there, we came together and made our voice heard so we could get this forum. It may have taken longer than we felt it should have but that's how the cookie crumbled. We have it now so that's all that matters.
It's a great phone. I came from a Droid x and the A2 blows it out of the water. I love the qHD screen and its by far the easiest screen to see in direct sunlight. I just changed the oil pan on my car today in straight sunlight and didn't have a problem taking calls or texting. Screen is amazing.

I wont be getting an Atrix2 since i own the atrix but if i didn't own an atrix, i would buy the atrix2 for sure. Btw i believe all atrix owners are waiting for the RAZR like me.
It would be great if that u.i could be ported to original atrix.

I just came from the Atrix. I thought that I would be OK running the atrix without mods(locked bootloader), but i think i went through with-drawls from CM. Motorola blows goats with their locked blootloaders. Ther stock price is down 10%
Design Gears bricked his phone, that was the final straw. I will never by a Motorola phone again
Loving it too!
Coming from Leo I have found it very similar just with more mpx and RAM/ROM
Bye physical buttons as well.
So far so good (2 days with it)
some testings have showed that browsing speed of Atrix is not faster than Inspire. Proud to own an Inspire.
I agree, it is a great phone. Had it for a week now, it was a nice upgrade from my HTC Aria.
Love this phone too. Coming from 4 years of every iPhone - finally got bored and made the jump.
At first it was like a really bad break up - thought about the iPhone 4 every single day, missed it when I would hold or caress another phone, and wanted many of the features/memories back. Now after about two months, rooting, flashing to MIUI (following weekly builds), cattleprod's Cyan04.7 Kernel, and other tweaks and mods, I'm wholeheartedly fulfilled and more ways then before. Can't imagine going back to that terrible world I was in before.
Don't get me wrong, I have an iPad 2 and wouldn't give that up for the world (or any other Android tablet) though. Apples vs oranges though.
Upgraded from a cheap quick messaging phone

Came from Iphone 4 and I'll never go back. Been with apple for past few years with 3g, 3gs, 4 and never again. The customization of Android makes it all worth the transition 100 times over.
So yes needless to say I love my Inspire 4g! In fact trying to talk buddy of mine into buying one instead of the Infuse. I prefer HTC.

The infuse has about 1/2 the RAM and only 200 MHz more CPU (easily in the stable OC range)
Also, the only bad thing about moving from the iPhone was the apps I had bought. It was SO easy to sync my contacts to Gmail.
I love his phone also. After rooting, custom Roms etc... this phone is even better. I switched from being and Iphone user and will not go back. I am waiting to get my wife one for her upgrade so she can get rid of the Iphone also.

Count me in on the Inspire love. I've had mine for a couple months now and find it still to be an exceptional smartphone. I haven't rooted mine but I do use custom launchers. Currently using GO Launcher EX with the GoContacts/GoDialer and continue to be amazed by this Inspire.
I can't take screenshots on my Inspire but this is exactly what it looks like from these screenshots of my HD2. The only difference is the taskbar.
Sold my Inspire not too long ago (I fell prey to the allure of the dual core Motorola Atrix).
Worst... decision... EVER!!!
Although it had the dual core it actually felt slower and more clunky overall than the Inspire. I was running GingerBlur which helped as it basically removed MotoBlur but itstill felt like a real step backwards. HDMI was kind of a novelty although I never used it. The only thing in Moto's favour was battery life. For me, I prefer quality over quantity .
Krisbo
If u read up on this matter, specifically other inspire owners doing the same thing, you would have an overwhelming amount of first hand accounts coming to the same conclusion... the atrix is a fail of a phone and its not worth it. Specs doesn't make the phone. It's the overall experience that does. Some people have to find out the hard way I guess. My advice... switch back to the inspire.

I just re-read my post, forgot to mention that I received an Inspire in the mail today . As soon as it booted it up I was much happier than I ever was with the Atrix.

Glad I still get my upgrade in Dec, since I went off-contract for this phone to get rid of the p.o.s. Crapsung a777. Looks pretty legendary!
Based on feature set, availability and price my reasearch has led me to this phone with the RAZR as a second choice(pentile screen, waker battery, no FM). The RAZR has better development though(incl kexec). I'm hoping to run ICS as a daily driver in the very near future and JB/CM10 down the line. What do you think?
Price-wise it's the best phone you can get. I myself owned a HTC magic and then a nexus one and can confirm that the build quality is solid. Webtop is also a great feature.
Rom-wise we've stock/modded ICS and soon ported CM10. But don't expect to unlock the bootloader. If you can live with it, buy it
Sent from my MB865 using xda app-developers app
Keep in mind, this is one persons opinion, but personally, I love this phone. We have 2 ICS Leaks, and CM10 is right around the corner.
It's mainly your preference, but i'd say just to be sure you want this phone, read all that you can from this forum.

Bootmenu is great man. With it, you can essentially dual boot so to speak. Check the thread out, it tells you ALMOST everything you need to know. Something's you can read around the forums and find answers to. I've become pretty familiar with it, so if you have any specific questions feel free to ask me.
Also others are here to help too

Oh, BTW, threw a couple thanks to you 2 for great advice to the new people. Way to go!
If you can live with a locked bootloader I don't see why not, the specs are decent, screen size is pretty good and overall quality is nice. We have ICS (leak), a few custom roms, and CM10 is being worked on (I believe camera isn't working just yet). Mine is currently softbricked because I got into a bootloop and my battery is low , but that's easy to fix once I can charge the battery, which I'm being patient with and not doing anything risky and potentially harmful to the battery or phone. In conclusion, if the price is right, it's a pretty decent phone, with a locked bootloader (Always a catch)
Hmm. How about making a bounty or making a collection for a donor device to a dev? Just thinking out loud...
The only feature I'm missing that a custom kernel might solve is 2-way call recording. I think...

You won't be disappointed. This is only the second phone I've owned in 16 years that I haven't wanted to destroy after a couple months of use.
Is the lack of support from Motorola annoying? Sure, but the amount of support from the developers and everyone in this community is all you will need. Whether you stay on Gingerbread or upgrade to the ICS leak, there are plenty of amazing ROMS and mods to play with.
Just make sure you read through the forums (especially the stickies) and familiarize yourself with phone and the community.

Your gf likes flashing custom ROMs? Anyway, I bought mine two weeks ago and I'm enjoying it. Nice screen, good call quality and decent cam. The bootloader is not unlocked. CM10 ports are under development one by a Chinese team and one by a US team.

Haven't had the best experience with it so far myself but it is definitely cheap, but maybe for a reason. Bootloader is locked. Has a few roms, and officially has ICS, no word on JB and I doubt we'll get it from Motorola. CM10 is looking pretty good tho.
Atrix 2 design is a bit workman like, if you ask me. Perhaps you want something pretty / feminine for your lady?
Hi all !
Does anyone know why there still is no section for the RAZR HD ?
It's already been realized. At least here, in France.
Does it share common hardware with another phone ?
Thanks

I think xda is US based, do you probably won't see a dedicated forum for the Razr HD until it is released here.
It uses the Snapdragon S4 processor, so it is similar in that respect to many phones.

How's battery life? The old Razr has a 1780mah battery, while the new Razr HD you have has a 2530mah.

i bought it here in Canada just today...
Fantastic battery life on LTE, i will know more tomorrow on a full day of use.
the build quality is incredible. I have had mainly Nexus devices with the odd HTC One X...nothing touches this in terms of build quality and overall solid feel.
ICS...its ICS. Having used JB on the GNexus the last several months its hard to take a step down to jittery old ICS. Like you wouldnt know it if you hadnt played with JB, but ICS lags!
The screen, out of the box, is great and doesnt require a lot of colour tweaks.
Aside from that, love it.
Hopefully this will get a root (its officially supported by Moto in its bootloader unlock program) and i can get CM10 or something on this ASAP
Any questions? I will try to answer them as best i can.
