Is there a way for me to at least read/edit lg apk files. the phone is not rooted. would there be any issues with decryption?

Hi. I currently have a lg optimus black running on android 2.2.2 and gingerbreak isn't working for. I've pressed the root device on gingerbreak and it's been on the rooting, running exploit, this may take a few minutes for about 30 mins! Can anyone tell me another way to root my phone?

I have been having some issues with my lg optimus 3D. I recently bricked it and followed these steps

only the second thread has links that i cannot use to access rom files.
also none of the rom files there are ment for the lg p925g so i'm not so sure they will even work, I have a rogers based phone and i was thinking of trying to repair this thing or just bring it in for them to reset.
I'm new to these forums and only recently rooted my phone. when i used rom manager the app actualy bricked my phone really badly and i have very many regrets.
please help.
So I ended up getting another lg g Stylo with metropcs, however it came with 10j. Is there a way to root it with that software? My previous one was on 10i and was rooted. Just wanted to confirm though before I brick my phone again hahaha
The reason why I'm rooting it is so I can flash the Google emojis... The Lg emojis are garbage.
I rooted my LG OPTIMUS L90 D415 with Kingroot. I am a total beginner at this and now I can't find a Custom Recovery compatible with my phone, so I'm pretty much stuck.
