[Q] Help choosing tablet between Toshiba Folio 100 and Advent Vega & clones - General Questions and Answers

Hi all. I´m new here, I´ve used the Search but I couldn´t fine any post comparing these tablets nor here nor under their respective sub-forums.
I´m searching for a new tablet (my first tablet was a crappy chinese Mid V7 mounting a Via wm8650) and my budget is a bit limited. I wouldn´t spend more than 200€ or a little more, that´s around 300$.
The thing is, I´ve got the chance to get one of the above tablets for a reasonable price but i´m not sure which one to pick.
I can get the toshiba in an auction for less than 200€, 2nd hand. And a mobii point of View new for 210€. I´ve read the forums here, about the Toshiba and the Advent Vega (as the PoV seems to be a clone) and still, I cannot decide.
Not sure the toshiba is another clone of the Advent vega, but it really looks like. I see no big differences apart from the 16GB of storage on the Tosihiba versus the 4GB on the PoV.
So here are my questions,
¿Are both tablets basically the same one? ¿Are they able to run the same customized rooms, like the Vegacomb etc...?
¿Which one is more reliable, if I can use that term? ¿Which one is easier to root/customize/update with new roms etc...?
To sum up, ¿which one would you pick?
Thanks!

Sorry to bother but I´d really appreciate any help here.
i´m running out of time as both auctions I´m following for the Toshiba end tonight, and I really don´t want to pick the wrong tablet.

Hello people.
I need to buy a new device/phone, and i like android.
Than i need one with touchscreen(obvious, lol), and keyboard (slide, flip or like blackberry).
I want minimum android 2.0, simple, stable and fast device.
I don't need rotation/menu animations or something like that.
Do you have an ideia? please share it with me?

Hi, the main things to ask yourself as well is, what budget do you have?
Are you wanting to buy just the handset or do you want a contract?
Do you want it on Pay as you Go?
Have a look on this forum for a number of handsets that take your fancy and find out what other people's opinions are.
Read reviews on the internet.
Hope that helps?
it's a phone for 1 year, not contract, i allready have one, but, my htc magic is bricked!
than it's to replace the sapphire for 1 year!
my budget is 250.- Swiss francs, it could be used!
with this details, i can buy a motorola flipout, sony ericsson x10 mini pro...
but there is others? thanks
Have a look here for any pre-owned handsets..http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=476
Just to get some ideas in case you can't find anything brand new.
Why don't you try getting a ZTE Blade. I used to own one myself and it is a very powerful, but very low priced phone. It's also winning the best non-HTC phone of 2010.

[Q]What Smartphone should I get?

So I'm pretty new to this Smartphone thingie, actually I come from a Nokia 5800. Says quite alot dosent it?
I've been looking every single test I could get my hands on the last few days, and at best, it only confused me more.
I've been having a really really hard time deciding what my first real venture into Smartphones should be. I'm not a software geek nor a software newbie, so I like to fiddle around with stuff to make it suit me the best.
What I'm looking for in a phone:
Big screen
Good colors
Easy to text
Good camera
Easy to browse on
These phones are the ones I'm currently interested in:
Samsung Galaxy S
Samsung Nexus S
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc
HTC Desire
HTC Desire S
As I said, a big screen means alot to me. Its just a jungle out there, and its really really hard to choose a new phone now.
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this sort of question, but I havent been able to find a topic for it. If something like that exists, then please point me in the right direction.
On the other hand, maybe I should wait for the Samsung Galaxy 2

[Completed] Looking for a good "development/test" phone

Hi Guys , (sorry if this post is at the wrong place im pretty new here and this was the only place where I could find the "new post " button )
What exactly am I looking for?
- An android smartphone that is easy to root (maybe also supports cyanogen mod?)
-with which I can use apps like faceniff and similar tools properly
- The price: I don’t care if it’s a brand or noname phone I even considered to buy it from china via aliexpress
But I think it should not exceed 150 dollars
- What I thought is needed (maybe im totally wrong with this please tell me):
-Quad core processor
-2 GB Ram
-16GB Rom
Do you have any suggestions?
All phones that I thought would be nice (Doogee, viewsonic etc.) can’t be rooted or you have to be an expert to do it

Hi and thank you for using XDA Assist
This should be a your choice, we all got different tastes, just take the phones which you consider the most and then check all of them here on XDA and see how is the development going

Hiya,
Just read your post and believe i can be of help to you. If you are dead set against Apple, there are various other tablets around such as Sony Xperia and Nokia/Microsoft Lumia, but if you want a leading tablet it would be best to stick with Samsung maybe?
The S2 would probably be a suitable replacement for you as being samsung, you will already be familiar with its functions etc, and the S2 comes in different screen sizes. The closest to your old 10.1 being the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 - the 9.7 being the screen size in inches.
As to the confusion over the bunch of numbers after the name, they are just its model number. The t815 would be the 9.7inch S2 that I just mentioned with wifi and 4g connectivity. Also depending on your budget, brand new these can be £370-400 I have found, yet you can get an excellent quality second hand device for around £280-300 from sites such as 4gadgets
I hope you found this helpful, but if you require any further information feel free to ask (^_^)
thanks for the info much appreciated...

[Completed] Tab needed for ebook reader

My wife has destroyed her old Nook and needs a new ebook reader in the 7" to 8" range.
With so many tabs out there to choose from, I'm needing some help.
The Galaxy tabs seem to get good reviews but there are so many I'm horribly confused as to how to choose one.
I've personally owned several different tabs and rooted them all so that is not the issue it's just trying to get her a good foundation tab that will be around for a while.
TNX for your thoughts.
