Known issues:
=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]
The smartass governor needs some tweaking.
Strange readouts in SetCPU (read below for details).
Video recording seems to be broken; Still need to verify if EI22 100% stock has the problem.
Feature list:
=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]=]
nubernel-2.6.35_v0.0.2
Includes a custom "Nubernel the kernel" bootlogo.
Includes kexec support.
Ensures su is installed properly. (tw build only!)
Ensures superuser is installed properly. (tw build only!)
Ensures busybox is installed properly. (tw build only!)
Installs bash into /system/bin/ (if it is not found). (tw build only!)
Installs bash resources if they do not already exist. (tw build only!)
Includes flash tools (redbend_ua and bmlwrite) in /sbin. (tw build only!)
Includes custom scripts in /vendor/bin. (tw build only!)
Recovery redirector, "reboot recovery" will boot to the recovery kernel (bml8).
Supports the following:
init.d scripts, init.local.rc, RFS, EXT4, CIFS, TUN, Netfilter TCPMSS (init.d scripts = tw build only).
Fully supports VoltageControl and SetCPU (see SetCPU notes below).
SetCPU notes:
SetCPU aparently uses "cpuinfo_cur_freq" rather than "scaling_cur_freq" for it's live readout.
For some reason, "cpuinfo_cur_freq" reports being at some strange frequencies (75MHz, 150MHz, 300MHz).
I have no idea why this is happening, or how to fix it as of now, sorry.
Includes the following I/O schedulers:
noop, deadline, cfq, bfq, sio.Uses deadline as the default I/O scheduler.
Includes the following CPU frequencies:
100MHz, 200MHz, 400MHz, 600MHz, 800MHz, 900MHz, 1000MHz, 1100MHz, 1200MHz, 1300MHz, 1400MHz.The following CPU frequencies are disabled by default (use an app to enable them):
1200MHz, 1300MHz, 1400MHz.
Includes the following CPU governors (see notes below):
smartassV2, smartass, interactiveX, interactive, conservative, userspace, powersave, ondemand, performance.Uses ondemand as the default CPU governor.
CPU governor notes:
There seems to be a scaling problem with smartass (not V2).
It likes to hang out at 900MHz, I'll try to fix it later.Loads the Android logger as a module. (tw build only!)
Supports the following types of bootanimations (See notes):
bootanimation (bootanimation.zip).
samsungani (*.qmg). (tw build only!)
Bootanimation notes:
bootanimation.zip:
If you have both bootanimation.zip and boot*.qmg files, they will fight each other.
It's better than froyo was, in that, it will kind of randomly choose one or the other.
It's best to just remove the boot*.qmg files if using a bootanimation.zip animation. Samsung boot*.qmg boot animations: (tw build only!)
You must still fake out the kernel with a "blank" bootanimation.zip.
You still might see a small glimpse of the framework's animation (blue android logo).
Includes system app mover and remover: (tw build only!)
During boot, the init scripts make room to install root and recovery. (tw build only!)
Apps that are moved will have their data removed (to prevent FC's).
Two list files are checked to determine what will be moved or removed:
/data/local/.mv_sys_apps
/data/local/.rm_sys_apps The format of the list files is as follows:
Each line must contain two strings separated by a space:
#1 - The system app's apk file name with no extension.
#2 - The system app's packagename. Example:
FreeHDGameDemos com.gameloft.microwidget If the list files do not exist, defaults will be created.
Apps that will be moved from /system/app to /data/app by default:
Asphalt5_DEMO_SAMSUNG_D700_Sprint_ML_330 (Asphalt 5 Demo)
FreeHDGameDemos (Promo Widget)
nascar09-prod-release (Sprint Nascar)
qik-8.66-release-ffc (Qik video)
sfl-prod-release (Sprint NFL)
SprintTV
SprintTVWidget
SprintZone
TN6.2-sprint-handset-6201501 (Telenav Navigation) Apps that will be removed by default:
Term1
Term2
Term3
Term4
Term5

How's that ROM working for you? I made that, but have never used it. Is there anything I should add?

I like it a lot so far. I think that's the ROM I'm running. Sorry, it downloaded with a name with a bunch of letters. But I have TW4 Launcher, so I assumed. The only thing that I wish it had was the lockscreen/status bar mod & CRT/Over scroll. But not the yellow overscroll. The like cyan blue or whatever. It would match better with TW. But otherwise, its good. I like it. Thanks so much!!

marcusant.... can you put this in your ROM? just curious, excellent kernel, excellent ROM, seems like a good match

I was thinking the same thing. I'll be trying it out on top of ACS ICS v6 when I get home.

Is this based off official source?

Answered the question I had.

This works awesome with ICS v6. Fixed all my weird issues (especially with Opera Browser). The only problem is that it won't load the custom bootanimation.zip. I just get a blank screen.

Steps for Different Features
Steps for Multi boot:
1) Flash Kernel v1.7+
2) Go to CWM Recovery -> Multiboot -> Backup ROM.
3) Backup your Current ROM to ROM1 (It will backup the system.img at /sdcard/Android/data/g3mod/romname_ROM )
4) Add the system.img of your 2nd ROM to /sdcard/Android/data/g3mod/romname_ROM and similarly for different ROM's.
5) Use the CWM Recovery -> Multiboot -> Switch ROM option to switch between different ROM's.
Note: Ask the developer of the ROM's to provide you with the system.img for their ROM
System Img's:
G3MOD ROM
Grigora ROM
Kyrillos' ROM
Stylooo AOSP Style
DutchMods ROM
XXJPS Stock Deodexed Rooted System.img.rar
Steps for Changing the Max Freq(Dynamic OC):
There is an entry in /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/plls_table where you can put your own value for APLL.
Before doing this, set "PERFORMANCE" governor on and min and max frequencies to the maximum.
Code:
// Do this in adb
echo "0 a[SIZE="5"][B][U]258[/U][/B][/SIZE]0[SIZE="5"][B][U]3[/U][/B][/SIZE]01 a14d0303 c07e13fc cf850240" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/plls_table
You need to replace the 258(Hex Value) with your desired value.
Here 258 means
(2*16*16) + (5*16) + 8 = 600
and 3 means it is 600*2 = 1200
Therefore, a2580301 means 1200MHz.
This is a temporary method. For a permanent Method, add this line to a init.d script. Name the script to something like S10_Dyanmic_OC.
Help Others: If you calculate a Hex Value for a particular frequencies add it here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dG5hdnpsWFdTNExiY2t3dy16VzBvaWc6MQ
You can view all the frequency Hex value's calculated by others over here:

Note:
I am learning how to develop kernels.
I'll add different features as and when i can implement them.
The main goal of this kernel will be to keep the phone stable and fast.
There will be nothing as alpha or beta releases.
I'll give out the kernels directly, but if anything goes wrong and you have to reflash the ROM or kernel, please dont start shouting.
You may give me different ideas on what features to implement. I'll try my best to implement all the features you want
Many of the features implemented in this kernel, are taken from marcellusbe's Fugumod Kernel, and I shall be ever thankful to marcellusbe for the fugumod kernel
Warning:
I am not responsible for any damage caused to your phone (softbrick or hardbrick)

I can do that but the problem is that kernel compiling is easy but modding is difficult.
Even if i post it, there will be a lot of users who dont know stuff, and start complaining about why this is not happening and stuff...
So i would prefer to help but personally not directly on the forums..
So anyone who would like to learn, PM me and i'll guide you as i can

[CWM][SCRIPTS][TWEAKS] ThunderBolt! v2.3.2 - 12/31/11 [Governor Tweaks Again!]

pikachu01 said:
News
Updated ThunderBolt! to v2.3.2 with governor tweaks and bugfixes.
Introduction
ThunderBolt! is a script package by me, pikachu01 that combines a few notable tweaks shamelessly modified to the max as well as hacks and scripts that I came up on my own(and added tonnes of things over the months of development and testing). Without further delay, please read the rest of the OP
Features
Zach's modified system_tweak (I/O Sched, Readahead, VM, TCP, 3G, BFS/CFS tweaks)
Zach's modified screenstate_scaling script - VM Scaling
Darky's Zipalign script that actually works (modified it a bit to get it actually working. It was broken as is before this.)
Patched libsqlite that disables the need to fsync. Extremely fast database writes.
app_process from Fugutweaks and system_server from Honeycomb 3.2
Quasi-charged! - Only using Supercharger's script but with ThunderBolt!'s own LMK/ADJ/OOM. Supercharger Update9 RC3.2.
zipalign binary
sqlite3 binary
remount script - Included in /sdcard/bolt_scripts/
sqlite_optimize script - Included in /sdcard/bolt_scripts/
Benefits
Better performance, better battery life through Linux kernel tweaks catered for Android OS and flash memory.
Better battery life and performance through usage of screenstate_scaling whereby it switches governors/thresholds/VM depending on your screen state.
Better performance and battery life for database writes as fsync is not utilized anymore.
Better network throughput from TCP tweaks and 3G tweaks
Less RAM usage through zipalign. I found that market apps like Viber and PlantsVsZombies aren't zipaligned. Oh and Swype too. Surprised? Me too.
Reduced /dbdata, /data, /sdcard usage of *.db files and faster database access through defragmentization of sqlite db files (a lot of apps use Database to store data like Swype dictionaries, Game saves etc)
Faster disk access through remount script (noatime, disable barrier etc)
Less lags through Quasi-charger, with mutltasking (e.g. NFS shift + Opera mobile with 5 tabs fully opened and no lags)
Requirements
Android Gingerbread 2.3.x
At least 2MB free on /system (Delete unused ringtones or useless apps like Aldiko/Allshare etc).
Root
Kernel that supports init.d
Ext4 lagfix if you want to use the remount script
Downloads and changelogs are in the:
Original ThunderBolt! thread
Any support for Galaxy S SLC must be placed here rather than the original thread.
A few Galaxy SLC owners kindly asked me to post here so that the goodness of ThunderBolt! is shared to the masses.
Note: Some addons are device specific (labelled with i9000 for example). You can try using it, but it is not guaranteed to work. Something like 3G for i9000 should ring some bells as i9000 supports a lower speed compared to Galaxy SL.

Shamelessly copied xD
Just FLASH THESE!

Add-ons are not for our phone. They are device-specific
MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE FLASHING.
This looks useful... But the original thread is very long and confusing, and it has many many files..didn't see the specific file for i9003. Can you please post link to the exact file with simplified instructions.
Thanks

This looks useful... But the original thread is very long and confusing, and it has many many files..didn't see the specific file for i9003. Can you please post link to the exact file with simplified instructions.
Thanks

For noobs like me, i dont understand how to use the script but want to use it. Maybe a simple instruction and single link to download the script is helpful.
Thanks in advanced for those who willing to help and sharing information.

as-is and already tested and confirmed working? or needs to be modified to work on our phone?
after spending some times reading the original thread...
the first post I still can understand how it works.
There are many files attached in the first post, those with "restore" is to revert back to original if you already tweaks it. But none of them is for i9003.
the files "ThunderBolt-CWM v2.3.2.zip" is the main files for thunderbolt tweaks. Flashing instructions already included in the first post.
So, the second post...stuck at half way reading...confuse and confuse...
basically doesn't understand what will each script doing...
Why post a thread like this thats has been copied from the original op.you can just post the link..this could lead the adventurerous mind of sl user as per script is diffrent depending on the phone..copy pasting is a not good manner as the op did a hard job on making it..

Rohan has given all cedits to original developer so no problem in posting thread. I just want to ask that which files we should use or we have to modify as per our phone??? Also what is meaning of addon??? Rohan I think u should describe OP just a little bit.
Please send us the links(only) which we are going to download... i might get the wrong one and ruin my phone....

[Kernel][GB][OC/UV][HDMI-MHL] !NEW! Synthesis Kernels <2013-04-30>, plus Infusion-Z
Please post only bugs and testing results on this thread. For general questions and answers visit ---> Infusion-Z and Zen kernel Q&A
*** Synthesis: The only GB kernel you need for your Infuse ***
New features
This set of kernels is a combination of the stock UCLB3 kernel, with all mods from the Infusion-Z kernel (see below), some mods from Entropy's DD, and more. New features include:
- Fix for the wifi drain bug (aka bt-amp bug). In the event that this bug occurs, the kernel triggers a reset of the wifi interface, which stops the bug and saves battery.
- Wifi roaming code from the international SGS2 (roam_api) replacing the stock bcmccx logic. Reduces the incidence of the wifi drain bug. This config is less agressive in seeking out new access points, so you may need to open the wifi config screen in settings to speed up the connection process.
- External SD card (/sdcard/external_sd) is now available in CWM recovery and can be used as a source to flash CWM zip packages
- Entropy512's fast charging hack is included (thanks!)
- SIO and BFQ I/O schedulers added from Entropy's DD (thanks!)
- Voodoo lagfix lady 2.0 :good::good:
- Kernels are attached to this post (CWM flashables) including stock CPU frequencies - 1.2Ghz - and two OC options - 1.4Ghz and 1.6Ghz. If you prefer to flash them using SGS Kernel Flasher, you can download a bundle containing all three >>here<<
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Overclocking and Undervolt support - thanks to bedwa's prior work
- CoreA cpu speeds - 1600, 1200, 800, 400, 200, 100
- CoreB cpu speeds - 1400, 1000, 800, 400, 200, 100
- Voodoo sound driver, voodoo lagfix - courtesy of project voodoo
+ [cifs support] see post #29 for info on how to use cifs
+ [Removed auto-install of superuser] you can get the current su cwm flashable here: http://androidsu.com/superuser/
+ [HDMI/MHL support] using mhl adapter you can play video on most TVs and monitors with a HDMI port
+ [Video support] newer roms no longer need video reverts to allow video to record or playback
+ [External sdcard fix] corrected issue which prevented external sdcard access in some cases
+ [cfq i/o scheduler tweaks] added optimization tweaks for cfq scheduler
+ [Boot animation fix - partial] this is a work in progress - see notes below
NOTES:
Intended for use *ONLY* with stock-based GB ROMs. For CM7, CM9, and CM10 check project OPs for proper setups.
OC/UV requires use of an app like Voltage Control, CPU master, or SetCPU. Read up before jumping in - you can lock or damage your phone with incorrect settings. Remember to save your boot settings in Voltage Control menu to ensure your settings stick.
To get boot animations to show correctly: In /system/media copy sanim.zip to bootanimation.zip. I plan to automate this in a future release. For tips on overclocking and related performance and battery tweaks see the q&a thread.
Important! - Video restore and revert packages are intended only for users of current ROMs with stock library files who have previously applied a revert package to get video to work. If you haven't done this, or are unsure, flash only the kernel package of your choice.
Links to install packages for the first release can be found on post #3.
Source code is available on my github (see signature).
Be safe and always make a backup before flashing!Standard Disclaimer: All packaged builds are provided with no guarantees as to their safety. By flashing, you assume any and all potential risks that running a custom kernel might entail.
Recommendations: Wipe cache and dalvik-cache when flashing a new kernel. Disable any oc/uv settings from phone before flashing a new kernel.
Overclockers/Undervolters: If your phone is unstable when running at a particular overclock speed, choose a lower max cpu speed - not all phones have the same ability to handle oc speeds. When undervolting, do your research first and make small changes.

Known Issue log
- Flashlight function disabled in quick panel after use of video record or playback (restored by taking a flash photo, turning on flash using "Tiny Flashlight" app, or reboot)
- Some reports of random screen color change after disconnecting charger (restored by lock/unlock or reboot aka "faerie snot") [Fixed with the UCLB3 base - 4/30/13]
- Some reports of racing CPU on ROMs with tweaks [Racing CPU issues appear to be caused by modifying "ro.ril.xxxxx" cellular radio settings in build.prop. To fix, remove those tweaks (referencing a standard UCLB3 build.prop), or flash a near stock rom like r.e.v.e.n.a.n.t ]

Nice, bro. First.
edit: Alright. Now that I got the 1st post after op claimed, I will add some more relevant info.
Nice work, Zen. I know you've been putting a lot of time into this.
Let me be the first to say thank you.
I hope this will be the first of several new additions.
Kernel development is a task onto itself.
Kernel devs are a rare breed indeed.
Thank you for taking the time to give us some options.
Now we have the options of OC and retained some video capacity, even though we are using older libs.
Can't want to see what you can do. It will be a beautiful moment to see a stable OC with MHL fix.
Awesome work, bro.
edit: 6.5.2012: Well..MHL works. OC works.
Can you make me look cool so the hot chicks will dig me?
really nice job, zen, keep it up
Outstanding Zen thanks for all the hard work.

Steps are literally on every help thread.
1. Copy the zip "CWM-Infusion-GB-Z-CoreA2-VideoFix.zip" to internal SD
2. Boot into CWM
3. Select install zip from sd card, and select select the zip you downloaded.
Thank you Zen for your hard work. This is essentially what GPL and git is about. Thank you to everyone else for your patience as well.

TUNING SCRIPTS

For Gov/OC/UV/UC tuning scripts for various governors. If you don't like to use an app (as lot of them cannot do fine grained tuning) you would like to use init scripts, then please see @ReedX50v scripts in this thread. The only requirement is "busybox run-parts init.d supports", most custom ROM's with modified Ramdisk kernel image should have that built-in. If it not, then bang your ROM author to provide one.
* For Cymbaline 2.6 and above (any ramdisk version, i.e. any of the RDNN) use the information in following post #574. You might also read the post #249, for some background information. Please thanks ReedX50v.
* For Cymbaline 2.5 and BELOW (any ramdisk version). use the scripts (again thank Reed50Xv). Use the scripts from the following post #249.

You can use 3rd Party APPS for CPU and Voltage Control. For Voltage, it is using the Faux VDD tables, so the app MUST be able to understand that. (See ADDONS section below).
[RD04][2.8]
updated to linux 3.0.46 upstream.
Experimental, ported CM10 bln with blink support (updates your lights lib in ROM). Not sure how great this is but feedback is appreciated.
WiFi sensitivity restored to stock.
[RD04][2.7]
updated to linux 3.0.42 upstream.
Ramdisk updated to support boot sounds. (remove /system/etc/PowerOn.ogg if you don't want it)
merged to latest (09/09/2012) CAF relevant changes.
[RD03][2.6]
Changed Ramdisk (def. governor changed from "ondemand_sammy" to "ondemand".
updated to linux 3.0.40 upstream.
updated WiFi stack to 1.15.55
Skipped internal releases 2.4 and 2.5.
FIX: Now overclock should be fully supported.
[RD02][2.3] Minor release, only one version now. Hacked to ensure that the max. boot ramp up is only 1.566GHz. If your phone can't handle that, sorry return it .
Added two more governors as modules : "savagedzen" and "hotplug"
Unified release, hack in place to not ramp up to the MAX allowed i.e. (1.836Ghz) so all phones should boot, as the boot max is set to 1.566GHz.
merged some bt code from Cymbaline 1.5 branch.
[RD02-2.2] Please note RAMDISK change, see below
Samsung ondemand governor moved as "ondemand_sammy", did this so that I can merge the standard ondemand and mods w/o creating a merge headache. Due, to this, the SAMMY settings in the RAMDISK modified to reflect the new name.
using linux ondemand with faux mods. (thanks faux123)
added faux's intellidemand as a built-in gov, since I like it (thanks faux123).
reverted the wi-fi optimization, which was causing tethering issues. (hopefully this is fixed)
pre-emptive strike: merged all Govs from 1.5. Please don't complain that I am missing one. As usual all these are in /system/lib/modules. so you would need to "insmod" (see ReedX50v scripts for samples). Here is the remaining ones (please see RD01-2.1 ChangeLog for others)
Code:
/system/lib/modules/cpufreq_brazilianwax.ko
/system/lib/modules/cpufreq_lionheart.ko
/system/lib/modules/cpufreq_lulzactive.ko
/system/lib/modules/cpufreq_ondemandx.ko
/system/lib/modules/cpufreq_wheatley.ko
[RD01-2.1]
BLN Fix: reverted 2.0 changes, should work now
Providing two CWM flashable zips. One OC to 1.8366GHz and another with OC Capped at 1.566GHz.
Upped the voltage to 1350mV as per ReedX50v testing results and recommendation (hit his thanks button).
IMPORTANT: ALL CUSTOM GOVERNORS are compiled a Kernel Modules. Please use init script to enable the ones you want. I have done this so as to eliminate any interference from them.
This version has the following Governors: (Please see Post #420)
Code:
/system/lib/modules/cpufreq_adaptive.ko
/system/lib/modules/cpufreq_badass.ko
/system/lib/modules/cpufreq_lagfree.ko
/system/lib/modules/cpufreq_lazy.ko
/system/lib/modules/cpufreq_pegasusq.ko
/system/lib/modules/cpufreq_smartass2.ko
[RD01-2.0] Major version change. REMOVED SOME GOVERNORS, please restore to stock ondemand before flashing (i.e. disable init scripts or apply on boot settings in whatever app you are using).
Updated to upstream Kernel 3.0.38
Bunch of NetFilter kernel modules in /system/lib/modules for the interested users.
I have removed some governors, please reset to default governor "ondemand", before flashing.
cherry-picked key changes from CAF.
GPU OC (NOTE: please use sysfs interface to change the frequency the default is stock values, see post #2)
3D Mode: 320000000, 300000000, 266667000, 228571000, 200000000, 177778000, 27000000
2D Mode: 266667000, 228571000, 200000000, 160000000, 96000000, 27000000
Cherry Picked various bits from Samsung Code released for our device.
CPU OC: 192KHz - 186300KHz.
Cleaned up BLN code.
Added some WiFi fixes.
This is mainly a release based of the major overhaul.
Added more I/O Schedulers: BFQ (v3r4), Simple I/O, VR.
[1.5] Please see the posts for the evolution of this version, the last post should detail the final changes (208) #151 , #161 and #208
[1.4] Scaled down the defaul ondemand governor to 1.566 (slight oc). Should perform really well for people satisfied with the defaults.
[1.4] Added more governors for people to play around with, note, I would like to trim it down in futures versions of cymbaline. The newly added ones are (thanks to whoever developed them):
brazilianwax
ondemandx
lionheart
SavagedZen
wheatley
scary
[1.4] Moved init.qcom.post_boot.sh into the ramdisk, to not depend on ROM variances. You should use the /system/etc/init.d hook (of course busybox must be installed).
[1.3] bugfix: the max. freq. was not enabled in 1.2, fixed in this release.
[1.3] some compiler tweaks added building this version of kernel.
[1.2] Restored settings to Stock Governor & I/O scheduler.(ondemand/cfq)
[1.2] BUGFIX: BLN and TouchKey backlight interactions for the "on" settings were conflicting. restored to UCLD2 behavior.
[1.1] Default Governor is tegraks lulzactive.
[1.1] Default CPU Scaling Max. is 1.566MHz.
[1.1] Available Governors (Most governors tuning via sysfs interface please google)
smartass V2
badass
lazy
intellidemand
lagfree

lulzactive (default)
[1.1] Using Faux's CPU and Voltage table
[1.1] Faux's GPU Overclock (not tunable from userspace)
[1.1] Max Overclockable Frequency: 1.728MHz
[1.0] BLN support.
[1.0] UTF-8 Support.
[1.0] Kernel symbols enabled (some apps require it)
[1.0] init.d: via busybox run-parts, place your scripts in /system/etc/init.d/ (chown root.shell) (chmod 755)
[1.0] insecure (ro.secure=0)
[1.0] adb root
[1.0] adb default shell bash.
[1.0] All IPV6 options enabled.
[1.0] CIFS is a kernel module (/lib/modules/cifs.ko)
[1.0] bootanimation support, drop your favorite bootanimation.zip in /system/media.
[0.0-0.6] Front Camera fully functional WITHOUT any lib hacks for Skyrocket ICS ROMS. Which means keep dont change the libs.
[0.0-0.6] Back Camera working.
[0.0-0.6] Completely removed MMC_ERASE capability, that means with the running kernel any erase to internal sdcard will error out. This is implemented as per the "brickbug" recommendation.
[0.0-0.6] General code merges and cleanup.

As far as I know (not tried it), only SystemTuner provides the "lipstick" for reading the voltage table and allowing you granular control of the voltage for each frequency.
Most of the other apps, can I believe allow you to change the CPU/IO scheduler/Govs, safely.
Or, if you are hardcore, please see this post 249 by ReedX50v (hit his thanks button), for graciously providing flashable init scripts, you can use one as a template to what works for you.

Although, there was a lot of effort involved in bringing this kernel, but without the following people doing the heavy lifting, it would not be possible..to bring it so quickly.
Faux123 (for majority of the heavy lifting) (gov, oc, uv and gpu). I just ported it over to our device kernel.
tegrak (lulzactive governors)
creams (bln)
romanbb (bln)
DaG (bln)
ReedX50v for providing flashable scripts.
samsung, for at least releasing the source for a similar device, so i could bring this..
whoever were the original authors for the governors included, that were not part of the source.

1) ROM Developers Info.
If you are planning to bundle this kernel in your ROM. The Samsung init.qcom.post_boot.sh has been disabled and moved to the ramdisk. Your changes should be incorporated in /system/etc/init.d scripts (of course need busybox installed). NOTE: the init scripts always execute after the above script, so you can always override the values there.
2) How do I find the available governors?
Below adb command, will tell you what the available governors in the kernel are (assumes adb/rooted) (shown in 1.4 kernel):
Code:
$ adb shell cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_available_governors
brazilianwax ondemandx SavagedZen wheatley scary smartassV2 badass lazy intellidemand lagfree lulzactive interactive conservative ondemand userspace powersave Lionheart performance
3) Sysfs interface for GPU OC?
The GPU OC Modes are supported:
Available frequencies:
Code:
3D: 320000000, 300000000, 266667000, 228571000, 200000000, 177778000, 27000000
2D: 266667000, 228571000, 200000000, 160000000, 96000000, 27000000
The default (and the default in CYMBALINE Version 2.0 and above) stock values are:
Code:
3D @266MHz and [email protected]
To change the values use the sysfs interface here are the relevant samples to max it all out. (you can make an init script to make it permanent)
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
echo "Overclocking GPU"
echo 320000000 > /sys/devices/platform/kgsl-3d0.0/kgsl/kgsl-3d0/max_gpuclk
echo 266667000 > /sys/devices/platform/kgsl-2d0.0/kgsl/kgsl-2d0/max_gpuclk
echo 266667000 > /sys/devices/platform/kgsl-2d1.1/kgsl/kgsl-2d1/max_gpuclk
echo "End"
exit 0
4) Why does the CPUSpy show reaching max. CPU frequency, even though the bundled values 1.52GHz?
This is caused by SAMMY ROM ramping up the CPU's to the Max. during boot. I am looking for a clean way for this to not happen, once I find the source (I have few things narrowed down)...
This is really exciting! Read about this in your other thread and started to pitch a tent.
Bluetooth is not a deal breaker for me so let me know if you need a tester for camera.
Can test on whatever rom needed. Stock, etc.

Well, good thing folks like the OP are still around then...
Thought I was noticing a theme in your rom/kernel names and was going to ask if this (and Embryo) were named for Pink Floyd songs.
But then I thought I'd use Google before asking and I found your post stating that Embryo was in fact named as a dedication to the Pink Floyd song (here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25925976&postcount=287 ).
Would love to see you do something -- anything -- with the song, "Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict"

[KERNEL] Phantom Kernel for Android 6.0.1 TouchWiz Roms

Mod edit: thread closed due to missing kernel sources.
Your warranty is now void. Knox 0x1.
I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed.
Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this kernel.

* Kernel Features *
Based on idle kernel by jcadduono/lss1977 source code.
Linux version 3.4.113,
Arch Power, Gentle Fair Sleepers ,
F2FS support - I recomend using F2FS for /system and /cache partitions only, but supports /data partition too - EXPERIMENTAL
Added Phantom Governor as default
(based on yankactive - optimized to use CPU frequencies for reduced battery consumtion with a little loss of performance.)
Added alucard, arteractive, intelimm, intellidemand, ondemandplus, impulse, smartmax, smartmax_eps, Lionheart, biosock, nightmare and zzmoove governors beside performace and conservative.
Added Phantom, zen, tripndroid, sioplus, bfq, fiops, deadline I/O Schedulers beside row, cfq, sio, fifo and noop.
Phantom I/O Scheduler set as defualt for Internal memory and External SD Card (if phone has one)
(Phantom I/O Scheduler is based on Maple, has Zen, VR and SIO I/O schedulers code in it, uses a first come first serve style algorithm with seperated read/write handling to allow for read biases. By prioritizing reads, simple tasks should improve in performance. Phantom I/O also uses hooks for the powersuspend driver to increase expirations when power is suspended to decrease workload.)
Max CPU frequency is 2265 mhz
Min CPU frequency is 288 mhz
CPU has 28 frequency steps.
No CPU OC - Stock CPU frequency table used for better stability
Added Fast Charging by Yank555.
Added 100, 500, 533, 578 mhz GPU steps.
7 CPU hotpluging managers: MSM, Bricked, Intelli-hotplug, Zen Decision, AutoSMP, Fast Hotplug and LazyPlug
Intelli-hotplug tweaked ,modded and added a special Lazy profile for videos, phone calls and screen off (set as default)
iotop.sh script support
Added battery power consumtion (average and current) information (mAh).
Added per CPU core control (governor and frequency)
Added Adaptive LMK
Added DoubleTap2Wake (Full/Half screen modes available)
Added Phantom Log, Phantom LED and Phantom Swap features
- LKM - Loadable Kernel Modules support
- Intelli-Hotplug update (more balanced now)
- Intelli-Hotplug (4 cores only) profiles update:
0 balanced 4 cores (default)
1 performance 4 cores (more aggesive)
2 conservative 4 cores (saves battery)
3 disable
(* Any other value other then 0-3 will set it to 3.)
(** Tweak is available at this path: /sys/kernel/intelli_plug/full_mode_profile)
- added custom suspend: enable freeze timeout configuration
(*Tweak is available at this path: /sys/power/pm_freeze_timeout)
- Fixes for DoubleTap2Wake.
- FS performance gain by 10%, in benchmark test at least.
- Modem performance tweak
- Fix for LTE only as preferred mode causing FC after a reboot;
- Fixed Call Delay;

How to use LKM - Loadable Kernel Modules:
The kernel comes in a basic version without all the governors, schedules, hotplugers and FS supported types of partitions, only the most common used.
If you want to use other features that aren't enabled anymore, you need to edit the /system/etc/init.d/00modules file and remove the "#" from the beginning of the lines related to the module (feature) you want to use/enable and reboot. You can activate all of them if you want.
If you want to use the basic version again, you can remove the 00modules file, if any changes were made. It will reappear on reboot, but all modules will be disabled, as default. If the file is missing after a reboot you can copy it from /sbin/scripts folder to init.d.

1.What does Phantom LED do?
It makes the phone's LED blink upon Wifi, Internal SD, ExtSD activity.
(Disable ROM Led notifications for this feature to work properly)
__________________________________
2.What does Phantom Swap do?
It creates a swapfile on the /data partition and starts the swapping process on boot.
The size of the swapfile is 768MB.
If /data/.phantom.swap is removed it will clean the /data partition of the swapfile remains.
__________________________________
3.What does Phantom Log do?
It enables ROM's logs, that are disabled by default.
To enable ROM's logging (logs) you need to create an empty file named '.phantom.log' in /data and reboot. (The name starts with a dot and without quotes.)
After reboot you can check if everything it's working by opening /data/.phantom.log file, with a text editor, and find this text inside: 'Logs are active and available for debugging now.'.
If the text is there you have done the procedure correctly and all logs should be available.
You can't activate logging from Kernel Adiutor-mod anymore!
__________________________________
Kernel add-on scripts can be found in /=Phantom Scripts= folder, if ramdisk/boot image is not altered (e.g. Magisk is installed).
Simple way to use a script is to copy the script from /=Phantom Scripts= to /system/etc/init.d. and reboot, except iotop.sh !
Alternative method is with Kernel Adiutor-mod or SManager or similar apps.
You can edit, save and delete the scripts from /=Phantom Scripts= folder, but all changes will be gone upon reboot! (Even if you delete all/any of the scripts). Most info on how and what to edit is inside of the scripts.

For best compatibility and experience I recommend using [C9 Pro Port][N900X] AspireTeam C9 Pro V4.0.
(Why? ... it's because my testing was done on to this ROM)

Change Max CPU speed to 2.26 Ghz. Use yankactive governor if phantom is not doing the job, or try other governors.
Stock frequency table is used for stability. When booting, about 5 sec. or even more, CPU goes to max frequency. If the max frequency is 2.8 Ghz for exemple, some phones will reboot.
...
Use LSpeed app with performance tweaks but don't optimize CPU if you use phantom/yankactive governors.
Use a 30 sec delay to apply tweaks.
Another thing is temperature. If you OC you will need to activate thermal monitoring or else you might damage your CPU, but by doing that you will get a performance loss. This way a lot of the extra power from CPU you get by OC-ing, will go to thermal monitoring.
Plus the thermal monitor will limit frequencies / cores when overheating. So you will be able to use OC extra power for a short while because of overheating, giving you in fact worse performance overall. OC is generally used for benchmarking, not daily use.

How is your experience with kernel? You seem you dont like the performance, that is why you want OC, right?
Sent from my Note 3 using XDA Labs
Thanks 6h0st.
I wanted OC for a little more responsivness. I am no gamer. 2267 got used very rarely and just for a short time. I don't think the phone would overheat.
You aren't using CPU Boost right?
Performance is very good. Still testing. I turned off Arch power.
How to flash this kernel ????
First,
Remove previous kernel and it's depending apps like auditor or synapse and.......
In twrp recovery, instead of choosing zip file we should select imag.
Am I right?
If not , please explane( in detail ) how to flash this kernel.
Big thank.
