[Q] official GB for India - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

can anybody know when will be the official gb for india will be out...?
now i am using ddkb2. is it possible to flash xxkpm directly..?
will it void my warranty...?
when the official gb is out can i upgrade to that firmware from xxkpm...?

Just update to DDKF1 and wait for atleast 3 weeks for an official update...flashing XXKPM will void your warranty
Sent from my GT-I9003 using XDA App

How to upgrade to ddkf1...?
When connecting to kies and checking for updates it shows that this version of firmware cannot be upgraded..

does it really matter? gingerbread is so much better, and who knows wen 'official' for india is out. if you wanted to hand in your phone to samsung for example, couldnt you just flash back to ddkf1? they wont know the difference

I think maybe the Service may notice that your phone's factory timer is so low that probably you flashed it. But just shout at them you want your phone fixed. That usually works.

Highly doubt, repartitions are done every firmware flash via kies or odin so the timer will always reset, that's why even when you do a nandroid restore your clock always messes up rofl

[Q] Bootder problem

Well i took my mobile to the service center to get my antenna repaired. But they instantly caught that i flashed a firmware of other country as it was showing i5800 instead of i5801. But now i want to get back to i5801. Is there any way except for flashing bootloader. Also if I flash with bootloader, then am really playing with fire?? Cause i really need to revert back to i5801 as the guys at service center over here are actually smart. So any Idea??

Just flash ddjp6(if you r from india) or dxjpc(other asian countries)
Sent from my GT-I9003 using xda premium
There is no other way. You will have to flash bootloader. Yes its a bit risky. Just don t disconnect until the flashing process is complete.
In between I had flashed ddjp6 from here and I got the i5801 screen. You can try that also.
P.s that might fix your antena prob also as it is optimized for india. I somehow get a better strenght when I use ddjp6 compatef to kyrillos.

Flash the bootloader. I have flashed a bootlaoder twice now with no problems. It's not really that dangerous unless your computer crashes in the flashing process or you disconnect your phone from your computer. With that being said, I don't take any resposibility if your phones blows up
i flashed six times!!

[Q] How to restore original GB rom(to get warranty) when USB only charging works

Hello everyone!
I need to get original GB rom to get on my p500, but my usb mass storage/debugging mode is dead, so my phone is not recognized by any computer using different cables. I have also used hardware reset and i am running out of options.
I know that KDZ updater is used for original software but is there another way to do it other than usb?
Is there any other solution?
Thanks in advance!
Can you enter recovery? If so i can get you a zip of, V20G or V20I they are stock ,but its already deodex ,apps2sd ,rooted, busybox and runparts dixda kitchen tweaks only but if you want one of those p.m. me i send you link.
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
Yes i can enter recovery. That would be a lot easier to get warranty. Thanks a lot i will send you a pm.
If anyone else could share a zip of stock V20x that is not rooted would be very much appriciated.

I don't know how it is in your country but in Romania by rooting a rom you already break standard warrenty.

That is the same in my country, but it is still better to have at least stock UI/rom.
Oh and i forgot i have old baseband radio. Do i need stock froyo now?
U can switch to stock froyo to convince LG to fix ur phone if it is Broken.

Mine got with ICS, but the mainboard was broken... they fixed it free
Sent from my LG-P500
In case of broken mainboards, from what i know, they can't tell if the phone had custom rom or that it was even rooted because your system partition is on that mainboard and it's not cost effective to try and salvage the system partition to prove you broke the warenty.
Stock froyo or gingerbread would not raise any suspicions at the service but then again, they can be installed only via kdz witch needs usb, the thing that is broken in your phone. From my knoledge.
Maybe after you flash the rooted froyo or gb you can unroot? Haven't tried that on flashable gb or froyo. If that would work i think you would be safe and the warenty would remain intact
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
i already send you link you can unroot rom after install it.
I have decided to try to flash stock froyo + stock recovery. Hopefully it will leave no trace of my custom rom and rooting activities
Searching this forum and google I have only found one flashable zip of stock froyo V10e, since almost all links are dead or threads are closed, but for my country it says V10d. Can anyone that still posesses these files, reuploads them somewhere? Since our phone is getting older, people with a problem like mine might still need them. Or this isn't really important?

4.0.4 OTA update for India

I have updated my note (ICS 4.0.3) to 4.0.4 by OTA. I got the software update message in the afternoon (02.35pm IST). I have attached some screenshots below showing the pop up play option in video player, update size (110mb), version information and signature unlock option. It took just about 20 minutes to download and install.
Thanks raghu....

Hi!
I found no observable difference yet, with my moderate use.
For me the ota update fail when it was installing for two times. I got the update yesterday and today but both of them failed. What should I do? My phone was rooted but I uprooted it before update and did a factory reset too. For me kies is so slow.
No OTA available but available via kies, upgrading now.....
EDIT- root is gone and all removed stock apps are back....

I was rooted and upgraded through kies, I do not think root actually makes any difference, all happened is that I lost root after updating via kies.
Also, I was on official stock ICS 4.0.3 updated through kies and OTA was not available.

Flash any custom Kernel of your choice using odin and you will get root and recovery again, the root only method has been reported unsafe, so better you go with kernel way. For example you can find speedmod here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1673072 , It will raise custom binary count and yellow triangle, it can be removed with triangle away app from chainfire.
Download kernel .tar file, select in PDA and flash.
Updated. Only icon change is visible. Yet to see any significant change in battery life. BTW I don't like the new Phone log. It's almost entirely grayish and colorless
Battery life seems better, 3-4 days experience. And you can use some modified contacts.apk if you dont like the stock one, I am using multi dpi contacts.apk (240-320 dpi)

I will always suggest everyone to download firmware from sammobile and then flash it via mobile odin pro as this will retain root. Basically while updating via kies it downloads same firmware as on sammobile, i mean its of same SIZE and after flashing through kies the downloaded firmware gets deleted from PC so better dwnld it from sammobile and have it 24x7 in our PC so no need to worry when something went wrong with phone.
BTW anyone is getting SECURITY POLICY RESTRICTS USE OF EXTERNAL SD CARD message while switching on phone?
+1 yes I m getting this on left side of status bar as soon as my phone boots up....any idea why this so??

having used this for a few days now, I have noticed a HUGE improvement in battery life
yes battery life has increased for sure plus the annoying handwriting tab next to the spacebar has gone, call list as everyone says has gone a bit bland but doesnt matter and the UI is lot more snappir than before, plus the design of the options tab everywhere has changed. all in all a nice improvement but then it might be me only who finds this to be nice as this is only my 2nd android and i dont know much

[Q] Changing baseband version of stock ROM

HI GUYs, it's me again.
Now we know we have Germany android 4.2.2 official
but the baseband version isn't our own country's
but i still wanna flash it to my phone without losing warranty
so..
is it possible if any developers change the baseband version of this stock ROM, without rooting or cwm and without further modification? like, only change the baseband version of the ROM and then make it look like my own country's ROM (the samsung guy only checks your root state and baseband version if i'm right) so if any awesome developer would make it possible, then it's beneficial to everyone who wanna flash the ROM, but don't wanna lose warranty)
so...
is it able to:
1) Change the baseband version without bricking or further modifying?
thanks
I think its possible but its hard stuff cause u have to change the radio.
And if u not 100% sure what u doing u will brick ur phone.

thanks i dunno why i always think too much about failing the flashing process ==" though i successfully used odin 5 times
wish me good luck, im always very nervous about odin
Look at this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1658809
I don't know if it is a problem to flash a baseband from a 4.1.2 rom to 4.2.2??
But I think you lost your warrenty because it is a modification. Normaly there is no 4.2.2 rom for your country Samsung know your provider knows, so when you have a problem with the device an send it to repair, people know that there isnt't a 4.2.2 rom available but you have - maybe they don't accept the warrenty. So wait for 4.2.2 or have fun!

I want my Note 3 back.

First of all apologies if this has been asked or spoken about before.
I want to go back to my previous firmware MJ3, after the update I feel like my Note 3 is gone it literally feels like a different phone.
I have friends with the same phone irl and they say the same thing.
And also alot of people here seems to feel the same in various threads.
The battery is drained after 1 day and before it could take up to 3 days for the battery to totally die.
Is there any way at all to downgrade or flash an older version, I would really want the previous version, I so so regret updating it to the latest.
Any good suggestions or comments will be appreciated.
Cheers.
Try factory reset it might fix it

Same here! Calibrated my Phone many times, no luck! Was already thinking of buying a new battery... I will do TOTAL wipe tomorrow, including internal sd then flash Stock MJ7 I hope it gets better.
If you update via OTA, Kies or PC Odin. Sorry you can't go back as new bootloader is not compatible with MJ3 firmware.
If you update all the while via Mobile Odin, then yes as Mobile Odin never update bootloader.
Just finished restoring all my apps and settings after a full system recovery. (couldn't wait hehe).
Will report back if I notice any significant difference in the battery life.
Btw can anyone give some advice on battery calibration?
Cheers.

If your phone already update to latest bootloader, it can't downgrade firmware to MJ1. I never try, but base on user report, you get bootloop only.
Mj7 is the best FW yet.
It has great kernel with battery tweaks.
Don't try to go back for older FW.
First you can't.
Second every upgrade has some fixes for more stability.
I have MJ 7. Its wonderful.
You need to di the following :
1- factory reset.
2- go to application manager and disable the unwanted Apps.
It will save your battery more coz you are not rooted so its the only way to stop and turn off some craps apps.
3- wifi:
Go to advanced options and untick the allow scanning option and put your wifi as never during sleep.
Check your battery life then.
It will be double..
I Promise.
