Database Info

I am new to modding my Sprint hero

I rooted the phone and flashed the ROM. I am looking to get Android market and figure out how to sync my contacts with GMAIL. I am very new to this and actually didn't really want to do it, but why not. I need all kinds of help.
Any help is appreciated.

The best advice I can give you, being pretty new myself, is to search the forum every question has been asked 12 times atleast. And the people here are extremely helpful. From my knowledge I would search for a Google addons zip and flash it. But I could be wrong.

Download the GApps file and flash it to your phone just like you did the ROM, and the Google Apps will all be there

I was able to get what I needed. Now, I am all set. Next is themes. Thanks guys

Make sure you keep the gapps file for future use. ROMS built from source cannot have googles proprietary files included.

[Q&A][ROM] MIUI Infuse Edition [ROM]

This is for general questions about the latest MIUI

Thanks boost for the update i did lose recovery and did the sgs kernel flash trick and it didnt work. i went in to a knarly boot loop and had to reflash. I am currently trying it again i wonder if i got the right kernel or i did something else wrong do u have to fix permissions? Any tips would be greatly appreciated Thanks to you and jordan for all you have done.

When is the new MIUI being made for the infuse? right now i have JordanElliott 1.11.11...any new updates?
I see that 1.11.18 is out & JordanElliott stopped with Miui sad to see that.

What are you talking about? This is the new MIUI? I am porting them now. I also ported the galnet ics edition.

Im sure i used the right kernel. I just flashed your miui ics that same night when i had the issue, things are working good sorry for an unnessasary post appreciate it. I am so pleased with the ICS Miui thanks to you and jordan.

The ICS has the Ice Cream Sandwich framework. Yes, the link you posted is to the ICS version. I am also doing the MIUI from where jordan left off. 1.11.25 is the latest on i am posting today. http://tinyurl.com/bp3ghy7

also...does miui take a loooong time to charge? i tried to install betterbatterystats but it wouldn't work and the miui battery monitor says i'm draining juice as its plugged in

my sceen was waking....but i downloaded a theme off MIUI forum and now it will not. kind of a bummer. great to know if there is a solution.

Custom Ringtones
I have looked through every Miui SAMSUNG Infuse thread I could find, and couldn't find my answer. Has anyone else had any problems with custom ringtones, it seems that I can't get any ringtone other than the standard ringtones to actually apply when the phone is receiving a call except for the standard ringtones loaded with Miui

I recommend a fresh flash. Seems like your the only one so far who has that problem

Actually I had that problem once. I think it had to do with the apps I had to create ringtones. I had more than one app & For some reason i think my ph. Was having a problem with trying to read from more than one app.

Try puting the ringtones in /data there should be a media folder or something....i too have this problem but havent looked into it....i think i read that somewhere tho
My question....what happened to the torch.apk? Its really handy having a flashlight around sometimes

Found a way to fix it, just reflash, but make sure you replace the ringtones with your own as (musicname).ogg in the ringtone folder somewhere on the zip :3 then just rezip it all, and you're good

I know, this question has been asked previously, but the answer wasn't quiet clear.
I am looking for HTC SENSTION ROM with very limited features.
1) To be able to mak/receive calls
2) Check email and surf internet.
nothing else.
No sense what so ever.
Kill everything apart from the above list.
Can someone pelase help me find a such a ROM - Sensation.

IT doesn't actually belong in this forum but Cyanogen mod may be what you're looking for. Give it a shot and you'll see
Edit: You can do more stuff than what you listed above but I can assure you that it's one of the most stable and lightest ROMs out there

I must say that I love that video. I've watched it over and over.

just download CyanogenMod 9 and strip it down yourself using Titanium Backup...probably your best bet

Google Now Update for ICS?

Hey guys!
Im running Viper rom 1.1.1 and I was reading through some of the other forums and I saw that they had a google now update that now includes movie times and emergency events which are both things I would love to have.
I really like google now and the voice commands work amazingly for me. The sports cards also work fine after flashing to viper rom.
Do you guys know where I can get the newest version that is ported to ICS? I have searched for days now and have yet to find anything than what I have. Some other member said to simply get it from someone and push the JB version to my phone but I highly doubt that will work, if not mess up my phone somehow haha.

Yea, I tried that. When I go to the play store and search for "google search" it doesnt even come up.
Below is the said updated version. Im just looking for ways to update it but in no way want to switch to a JB rom just to have it. Viper rom is too good haha
