If you are unable to execute the idea, please join hands with DEVS. to complete the task. If you are unable to do so, just help the DEVS. test out what even is built. COme up with different custom ROMS and everything! I, as a DEV., will contribute all my BEST on keeping this device into the Main Forum.

Just for info..i hav tried overclocked kernel from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1311583 on my fit on vishvanath patil cm7.1rom(2.3.7) and those kernels worked BUT those touch keys were not working and camera wasnt working too and screen became a little colourless too...except abov everything was working i tried setcpu and confirmed that it was overclocked

That's because the oc kernel is for mini....apart from the touch keys, screen and camera everything else is identical with fit and hence those features not working...a huge thanks for testing the same....am pretty sure one of our devs can pick up the work of changing the required in the mini oc kernel....the same way in which we got CM7.1 working for our fit....

Requirements:
Any of the following supported devices
Phone needs to be rooted with Busybox installed

1: Download the update.zip (its flashable via recovery) and save on sdcard
2: Reboot into recovery and flash the update.zip

1: Locate "Xperia Reboot Options" and select it

i dont know if MrHassel updated the sources after our discussions but basically we are trying to implement SED commands based on v3 (reboot_into_rec_univ_xperia_v3.zip) of add-on_installer.sh script from here... in java..
may be he will upload the latest files in a few hours...
Zoz33 sorry for delay response, Australian time zones.. Had to undo something yesterday, working at cross purposes on mount points and ended up with a buffer problem. Using Apache Commons isn't working nice due to fifo..
Stream EDit (sed) is much better way as DooMLoRD said. So I will be modifying and reissue sources now.

@junixquiaoit good question. This app is not ready for release, it is still being developed. The reason I posted to the developer forum is that I have put this together based on DooMLoRD's scripts, with his assistance and guidance.
Mr Clown relocated rightly, as this is an APP but still in development and not ready for public testing just yet - this maybe causing some.. you have my apologies.
For now perhaps it is best to stick with scripts. When ready the widget / app could potentially replace scripts, although both will be maintained by DooMLoRD and myself.
I will continue to provide assistance and support for as long as I am able, life hopefully

Hi Aydee Great to hear from you, presently it has one single Transparent PNG, 72 x 72 px - created in Adobe Illustrator CS5, no filters or effects, attached at the top of this thread.

Ideally it should continue to have a 72x72px graphic, for the App drawer and a very small icon for the Widget selection panel and desktop.. HOWEVER what would be really nice imho is to have a few options, one as a spanning 4 column 2 row desktop widget, which can display important state of chargemon (modified / stock), recovery version (ie; xRecovery 0.3 / 0.2 etc..), root active, uptime or some system info..

As it turns out neither was the development of Zdzihu's kernel, that he released on April 1.
All I've done amounts to nothing. Just create an open source development project at SourceFoge, prepared a guide for zoz33 (with a lot of redundant java code, which is obviously just an APP or theme or something)... the fact you can't install it means nothing I guess.
@Mr Clown - as this is apparently no longer an active development and isn't any longer a part of the development thread. Why not just remove it altogether?
It's never going to get released when it's sitting in an App or Theme thread, without any input from developers.. so just delete this ok?
I'll do the same with my XDA account and everyone can just be happy.

Custom kernel selection on reboot menu - now that the bootloader has been bypassed newer custom kernels will be released... wouldnt it be great to have an app to select which custom kernel u want to reboot into? we can have overclock/undervolt/etc kernels...
Multi-boot menu - slightly far fetched and will need help from the devs who create the ROMs
Having this in apps & themes, is like having a car frame, a few boxes of nuts & bolts, 4 wheels and a horn.. then saying "let's go for a drive!".
That is obviously how some people roll.. so anyway.. since mostly all thread's are getting hijacked, you're going to see less postings from me. If any - thanks to J.Anderson this place is like a ghost town and the moderator's have become annoyed so much, they don't want to see new development projects, just finnished results. Fair enough..

i have tried the echo thing but it doesnt work coz we have only overlay0 which is the normal display .. whereas the overlay1 shud b enabled using echo which is not available in our devices..
the best thing which we can try is just using droid X kernel and using its tv out module ..

ya...u are going in right direction. I think we should look into galaxy s2 kernal coz it has all those which we want. And.most imp that we have very less developer support. Means we have only few developers who are expert in kernal like skin, amit etc. We cant expect everything from them to mod easily. It needs time to develope everything perfectly. But we should always.request developers.what mods we want because it keeps informing them that what users want from them.

truly speaking if usb otg was possible den it wud have come long back on the galaxy s , even they have similar pbm wid the voltage and kernal..soo the only possibility is to halt the usb otg till we get tv out ..
tv out shud b more easy dan otg .
@vishal i m unable to get the stock droid x roms for gb..
if we can get it den we can directly copy the modules i guess ..

Only modules wont work. It is related to kernal which require deep modding. Actually main problem is we dont have correct gb source code. Droid x is similar to our device but its not clone. We can take their kernal for reference only.
I think tv out will be more difficult as it not only requires correct source code support but hardware knowledge also that how signal get transferred to tv & in which format. Comparative to that usb otg is more easy coz we have few examples like experia arc, lg optimus one, nexus one. I know that samsung galaxy s is somewhat similar to our device but why we should depend on their developement??? Look lg optimus one phone which is such a low featured phone comparative to our phone but they have successfully enabled usb otg feature which is even not possible for great galaxy s developers.
The point is that only we need kernal developers with so much passionate about these features. Because if they get attracted to such features then & only then they will work on it to successful it in any way.

Thats great. I think u should try for simple kernal modding. Then u can proceed for tv out.

Hey guys, We are going to try something new for our china phones - cyanogenmod.
But we need some more devs to get everything going.
For now we have:
-Github tree for Lenovo P700i(mediatek 6577, android 4.0.4, kernel 3.0.8)
-Lens_flare - original port author(may work with system folder and configs)
-some kernel source from other devices like liquid gallant
The main problem is getting adb to work that could help a lot on remaining development. For now even zygote not starting, but all partitions seems mounted successfully.
We need more devs (especially that could assemble working kernel for device), working with p700i may lead to following porting for other mtk devices, as sources are nearly the same.

Well that source in the OP is ICS... JB sources are still a mess... Nothing more that a Cyanogen 9 is possible I believe!
People make their own device tree's also! Instead of consuming that Nothing other than CM9 is possible instead help or GTFO! We will make it possible one day I believe!

Nopes! I am not making a CM Kernel instead directly building CM9! The Prebuilt Kernel will boot CM9! Though.... @DanceOff was also working to get CM10.1 Booting :cyclops: Now, That he knows about already available CM9 Sources we could get CM9 Booted first then think about fixing bugs etc. Plus, Most of the people are ready to sacrifice 1 sim to get a Working CM on their MTK Device

Well I am still working upon this matter in the background. Somehow I messed up my build environment and god knows why, my recovery builds aren't booting as seen on the thread even though my device trees are untouched. Will be starting cleanly once I finish my exams on 16 May.
And regarding CyanogenMod, I have made a pretty good progress here. I have been studying the android ICS sources since they were discovered. Till now I have succeeded to frontport the MTK Gemini support, FEATUREOPTION builder, MTK GPS, MTK Camera HAL to the AOSP 4.2. But all of them are untested because I don't have the device,everyone knows. For this purpose I am going to buy the upcoming Xperia C3, which upon using as a medium for testing I can do this stuff a bit faster which will be beneficial to all MTK devices throughout. I have more than 30 commit patchsets lying on my machine which I will outsource soon.
I will suggest to use AOSP as base for these experiments because its always good to understand the pure upstream code. Once we have done noticable progress here, we can diff and merge them in projects like CM.

So I realised after searching for 6 months that there is no interest of developers in this device. so I have taken up the initiative to 1) Build CM 10, 2) Port CWM, 3) Root the device myself. However I don't have much idea about building android. I've rooted and flashed Custom recovery n ROMs to my dad's phone before and I'm a geek so I learn things quickly about computers n phones. So I'm nor a complete newbie neither a Master developer. Therefore I need help of those devlopers who will be kind enough not to discourage me. Anyone can root a device which is more popular because it gets vulnarable too quickly so there is no point in telling me that "you should have bought a device which has developer support". I am interested to be a developer myself n that challenge is really so tempting to me. So here are my questions which I don't have exact idea about.
1) I have a computer of the config -> AMD fx 6100 hexacore buldozer 3.3 GHz/4 GB RAM/500 GB HDD/Windows7(32) & Ubnuntu 13.04(64). Can I do the job of building roms from the source with this config in the first place?
2) Does galaxy chat B5330 support 'fastboot'? if yes then How can I boot into fastboot mode? I've tried with adb 'reboot-bootloader' but the device just restarted normally. So I don't know How can I get into the fastboot mode?
3) CM developers are really kind enough that they have put alot effort into making the wiki. I've got precious informations about building android from source and all. But I have a confusion. There was mentioned fastboot is necessery for building CM. So if my phone does not have fastboot should it mean that I can't build CM for my device at all?
4) How much data do I have to download? Do I need to be connected to the internet always while editing local file? n If I use 'repo sync' to update the code always won't my editings get overwritten by stock code again?

The best way to start is to use another Rom as base (get permission first) then start tweaking it with scripts, apps and build.prop tweaks. Once you start to get familiar with the basics, start experimenting with different tweaks. Since you are going to create a Cyanogenmod 10 Rom from scratch, I give you best of luck and hope many people will use it!

I'm currently working on it. It still does not support audio/bluetooth/wifi/phone/usb nothing. It just supports full touch n can run games. You can't use it for calls/internet! I just sideloaded few apk files via adb. So it ran them smoothly. N don't call me sir please. I hate formalities.. just chill

Good News for everyone. I have decided to maintain a help thread at Xperia L community in order to keep the threads for development/general section more clean and better organised. I have been noticing for a long time that whenever new users join, they still are not sure about the rules and thus mistakenly post in the wrong sections too often. If any senior member points it out to them, mostly it is either ignored or taken personally. Thus I have decided a combined help section would be very helpful to the community and the questions which are sometimes left unanswered and lost in question answer forums, that would not happen again for all of you.
I would be personally answering all your questions and shall refer you to someone in case I feel someone else would be able to answer the same question in a more detailed way. Although everyone likes to have their own customisation in a ROM and what features they are looking for, it is very hard to pin point which would suit you best. For now , the best thing you can do is test few roms like Resurrection Remix, PACMAN etc and see what suits you best.
As far as your stablility issues are concern, the BSOD is major problem in 12.1. I suggest you go back to CM12 nightlies from official website.
next request: remove this repartitioning guide! its the best methode to hardbrick your device...

@SdtBarbarossa you could also add flashing supersu zip for #2. Your method is easier, of course, but personally i run to some issues with cm's default (ie titanium backup seems to prefer supersu). Not sure if it's just me though.

I've been using UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.45.zip since cm12 and have had no issues. I did have problems with another version (i can't remember which, unfortunately). [emoji4]
