I'm using Tasker to disable the key guard when connected to home wifi. Most of the time this works. But quite often after I've connected to wifi and the key guard has been disabled it will become enabled again (usually after I press the "Home" button on the phone).
Have you guys experienced this and is there a way to prevent this from happening?
i have same problem on desire, villainrom 3.3
And if i turn screen off it dissapears ,but after another home button press, it appears again.

If someone is interested:
I had an issue with AEButton+ and the Device lock as the green/red buttons are not locked. As my green button turns by multiple clicking WiFi on/off and BT on/of my TouchPro kept turning WiFi/BT on/off in my pocket (if the power button was pressed so the screen is actually on but device locked) and for some reason - see below - the buttons aren't locked at all.
So here is the registry key to lock all the buttons:
Anyone who wants to act the keylock as the device lock:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\KeyLock]
"SameAsDeviceLock"=dword:00000001
Seems that it doesnt work that way either
Is there any way, when using the default windows lock program that comes with the Verizon Wireless Touch Pro2, to make the phone lock when pressing the power button on top?
I'm struggling to find a program that will prevent my phone from powering down when I have it in my belt holster. Most of the replacement programs out there do NOT prevent the phone from turning off by holding down the end key when the screen is locked. The only lock program that I found that can is the default lock program. But that won't automatically lock the phone when I press the power button on top. It will only lock if it tap the 'lock' soft key.
Any suggestions?
Found my solution! A little program that causes the lock to happen whenever the phone goes into standby.

Precursors to behaviour:
-Pin security is set (required by exhange email policy)
-an ap in full screen (such as google clock) stays open past the security timeout
When I close that ap and return to the homescreen and subsequently fast press the power button to lock the screen the following happens:
-Screen goes blank (as it should) BUT...
-Fast press the power button fails to wake the phone
-Long press of the power button does not power off the phone
-Touch buttons light but the phone is otherwise blank/black and unresponsive
Ultimately, a battery pull is required to reboot the phone.
This has happened with both cognition and di11igaf's rom (the one I am currently using) and seems to be 2.2 related as rogers 2.1 only required the pin when powering up and used the slider for sleep.
Any ideas on how to resolve this?
Cheers!
I should also add that using SGS Info to change the "Power" button action in your phone will fix this, but only because it removes the lock screen entirely, negating any security you might want to implement (including the plain swipe option)
Wrong forum category perhaps?
Hey there,
I am looking for a way to remap my power button to launch a shortcut.
My goal is to make Tasker hibernate all 'greenified' apps, and turn off the screen when I press the power button.
This way I can turn off automatic hibernation in Greenify, and only 'greenify' apps when I explicitly turn off my screen, and not when it times out.
I've looked into several apps, but they all lack the ability to either remap the power button, or making it launch a shortcut.
I am running CyanogenMod 11 on my Samsung GT-I9300.
Hope someone could help me out!
You really don't want to do anything that would make you use the power button more. That is the first thing to die and you've got problems if it does. Much better to map a soft button or gesture to do what you want.
I thought about your comment, but it won't make me use the button more, because I use it anyway to lock my phone.
But nevertheless I could try to use it less. The problem is I use touch to wake the screen, and only if I lock it with the power button touch wil not wake the screen. If I wear the phone in my pocket, my leg wakes the screen trough the pocket.
I now made two profiles. One with proximity sensor, screen off and orientation upside down. And one the same, but orientation face down.
This way it will greenify apps when I put the phone in my pocket, standing or sitting.
I might look into gestures because then the sensors won't have to run when the screen is off saving me some precious juice am I right?
Still like to hear about remapping hw keys.
you can remap your power button here
System/usr/keylayout
then edit with text editor "Generic.kl"

Can I also map a shortcut to it? And do I have to remap again after an update?
GT-i9300, CM10.2, Googy-Max kernel
I accidentaly found out that there's a difference between the 'Tasker lock system' and the 'Secure Settings lock' actions.
With the Tasker action, touch to wake still works, but with the Secure Settings one it won't.
I now set up two profiles, screen on + proximity + upside down and screen on + proximity + face down. These greenify all apps and turn my screen off with Secure Settings. Also long pressing the menu (touch)key will do the same.
This way, when I put the phone in my pocket it will lock the screen and not wake up when still in my pocket.
But if I leave it face up and the screen times out my apps won't be greenified. I also made a double tap gesture in Nova Launcher that turns my screen off by the default Tasker system lock, so I can wake it by touch and my apps won't greenify.
Not really the idea that I started with, but maybe even better!

Hello All. I just enabled the function to unlock the phone by hard pressing the home button under Settings- Display- Navigation Bar. I find that this only works if your screen timed out and not if you shut the display off with power button on side. Is this working as it should or do you see this as a bug? Personally I think it should unlock with a home button hard press no matter what. Thanks.
Mine goes to unlock every time. Iris/Face Recog or pattern....
I am using no security, just swipe to unlock.
I do think that that is a bug, I'm using the hard press to unlock feature without security too, and the hard press works even after locking the screen manually.
Screen timeout and screen lock have to different settings.
So if you screen times out at 30sec
But the lock kicks in at 1min.
Then your be able to simple press the home button and go right back into the home menu after the 30sec but before the 1min mark.
If you press the power button it normally auto locks.
Meaning you cant press the home button to launch into the home screen.
Now this is all if you have no Security on.
I had the exact same issue as you did after I installed Samsung Oreo Beta Program. Then I found out that for some reason that the option got turned off. So you might want to double check and see if it is still enabled. To do this, do the following two things below:
1. Enable Unlock with Home Button
• Settings
• Display
• Navigation Bar
• Buttons
• Unlock with Home Button
*Then make sure Unlock with Home Button is enabled*
2. Then I would double check your phones Lock Screen & Security by doing the following:
• Settings
• Lock screen and security
• Screen Lock type
*Make sure Swipe is enabled*
Worst 8+ option...
1. Home button on AOD is disabled.
2. Unlock with home button (hard press to unlock) is disabled.
Still, hard press on home button area on lock screen (AOD), unlock the phone?!
Does anyone have a clue how to disable this crappy option?
