Hi
I am trying to use "Android File Transfer" to transfer files between my Xoom and my Mac PPC running OSX 10.5.
It seems to work and load, but when the page opens, it closes straight away.
My Xoom is a UK version Wifi only, 3.2.1, running [ROM] Team Tiamat Xoom Rom 2.2.2 - Moray [9/10/11].
I followed the instructions given on the Motorola pages.
How do others Mac users transfer their files from Xoom to Mac?
Any restrictions with Tiamat Xoom Rom 2.2.2 - Moray?
Thanks
Thomas
I found that the easiest way to manage files is to use sshdroid
https://market.android.com/details?id=berserker.android.apps.sshdroid&feature=search_result
Ones configured , you can reach your files from your pc, mac, o linux machine easily.
I my case I ave a short cut to open the Xoom, or my phone and browse right from my desktop
It works for non rooted android as well as for rooted ones

I have a Fujitsu P1120 touchscreen netbook. I have been trying to dual boot android with the windows xp that is on there but have had no success. I cannot seem to figure out the right way to put android on the hard drive. It keeps coming up with a grub error for invalid filesystem. I have downloaded liveandroid, android 86x. The main problem that I have is that my device doesn't support booting from usb, booting from network, or any usb external drive. So the only way I can get it to work is to manually install android but I don't know how to do that.
Can anyone help me with this please?
i have same problem , i want to install android on fujitsu p1120, but i see installation freezed, now i want to test froyo android

I so happy now.. i found one dvd-rw usb work very fast in the my fujitsu...
Is liteOn Slim USB (have 2 usb) dvd-rw and the bios work..
To put it bluntly you're trying to get your netbooks to do something it isn't intended to do. Those thing are built with the absolute bare minimum to do pretty much nothing more than browse the web, hence "netbook". It's not a full PC. Even the newer ones don't run a full version of Windows 7. Short of knowing how to re-write a BIOS image or finding a modified one and flashing it, which has the risk of perma-bricking your computer.
Волк,
Sorry my bad english..I have a good computer, phone and tablet. However I like to modify my old electronics giving new life to them .... Now for example I'll replace the HDD Fujitsu Lifebook P1120 IDE for SSD and I'll put a PCMCIA card with internal memory to speed up Windows. I installed windows 7 and it is working. So I had to make a modification in winsetup.dll to install.
At the moment I install Android but I am having difficulties.
I am unable to get any screen capture apps to work. They supposedly take pictures, but they are always black screens. I have tried ScreenCapture and DroCap2 locally. I also tried picme which allows you to access your pictures from a browser. All gave me completely black screenshots. I have tried various screens with no success. I have viewed the image files on another computer to make sure they were really black. Any ideas?
Thanks.
I use DDMS, which is part of the Android SDK (the same set of tools that gives you ADB). If you can get ADB to work, then DDMS should work, as well.

What rom are you using? I couldn't get screen cap to work w/ Cyanogen b4 but it works w/ Vegan b3, this was through DDMS.

Good question - cyanogen might not work (I believe I had heard this, before). TnT Lite and VEGAn work, and I believe zPad does as well.

OK, thanks, I tried that and it worked. I guess I can uninstall all those screen capture apps since none of them seem to work.
Thanks.
Need some Andriod SDK help, please.
Curious how you got the DDMS to work from the Andriod SDK? Can you provide some direction, please?
I've got the SDK running through Eclipse. Not sure how I get the SDK to see my Gtablet. I have a AVD defined for my "gtab" but there's no where to setup the connection via USB or WiFi that I can see.
Sorry for the noob questions, my first time with the Andriod SDK.
Thanks for any direction you can give.

Did you do the stuff in here about setting up ADB?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=827209
I guess you are on Windows? In Ubuntu 'it just works' odd I know. Now I had to go into the device manager and delete the drivers that windows assigned to the gtablet before making those mods to the inf file, there were 2 entries I had to delete but YMMV.
good luck

I would love to take a screen cap without using a PC. What is the reason cap apps don't work again?

Got the DDMS working under Android SDK following the instructions referenced above and on the Android Developer's website. Had to block windows 7 from auto updating drivers when I plugged my Gtablet to the USB cable. After installing the Android USB drivers, my Gtablet was found in the Eclipse Android SDK environment and I was able to get a screen shot of the Gtablet.
can we use external internet connection for example in phone, as internet provider via USB caBle???
1st of all, their is no such thing as Android 2.2.5. Please edit your title. I think you mean Android 2.3.5 since CyanogenMod 7 is based on Gingerbread. The answer to your question is yes. Just get PDANet from the market: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.pn.helper&feature=search_result and get the pc application to work alongside with it: http://junefabrics.com/android/download.php . It's very easy to use so you should be able to take it from here.
Hi, I switched from Galaxy Note (running Android 2.3.3) to Note 2. When I was using Galaxy Note, I sometimes used Keis from Samsung. When I got the Note 2 and connected it to my Mac (running Mountain Lion) for charging, I often saw a message on my phone that Android File Transfer is required for file transfer between the Mac and the device. I installed Android File Transfer. However, I always get the message on my Mac that the device cannot be connected. Even I rebooted the Note 2 does not help. I also noticed that after installing this program, my Mac hangs for a few seconds sometime. e.g. unable to see the cursor after waiting up from sleep, sluggish performance, etc. Anybody knows how to fix the issues? What is the difference between Keis and Android File Transfer? Is Android File Transfer necessarily for Note 2 running Jelly Bean? Thanks.
Try download drivers or kies
