Just want to know if anyone in India has got this update..

No OTA update yet..
Still have not got the update.. I think as of now only european countries are getting it...
Yes buddy....so all we can do is wait....
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
In regards to the OTA, if you had chosen to use some logic and had a browse of the desire s forum, you would have come to the conclusion that the OTA is I'm pretty sure isolated to certain handsets in Europe currently.
HTC as far as I am aware of has also not officially announced this update.
This should answer your question.
But if you so desperately need this update there is an RUU you could use to flash your phone without voiding your precious warranty. This would happen to be located in the HTC Desire S Development subforum.
I have been reading everything in this forum about the new sense update....I do know its not officially announced yet and even about the bugs as this update seems to be a beta testing........wanted to know if any Asian or Indian got it.........I would have tried many custom ROMs even within warranty but cannot as HTC has arranged a full body replacement for my phone.....and don't want to mess or screw up the phone before this.....yes I am new to Android but have done a lot of mods with many Nokia's.....
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
I really don't see much point in this thread then. Also it seems this is more or less a question as opposed to a general thread, in which, you should have used the Q&A forum.
Well didn't know where to ask this question as u are a senior in this forum and feel this thread is not required please tell me how do I remove it using DS as no option to remove and also tell me which RUU should I use for and Indian DS phone...
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
i sent a mail to HTC customers service asking the same..
To clarify your issue, you stated that: You want the upgrade ROM Android 2.3.5 and Sense 3.0 upgrade for your device HTC Desire S.
In this regard we would like to inform you that our goal is to give every customer the best possible experience on every phone. Every HTC phone is a combination of a unique HTC hardware and software experience and a core operating system. We only update our phones if it will provide an overall improved user experience as we balance features, performance and usability.currently ROM upgrade Android 2.3.5 and sense 3.0 is not available for HTC Desire S and we don’t have tentative date of launching in India.

Did you get the OTA update in Pakistan? Is your phone an Asian version?
What languages does it support?

The number .206 in the firmware version indicates the the phone is from UK O2 network. The asian version should have .707(Asia), .720(for india) or .832(Hong Kong), etc. in it's name.
@hamedunix
Yes, i got the update here.
Probably it's a uk version as i purchased it 'used' from the market. The languages list i've captured and attaching here.

Nope, nothing definite yet. You'll know it is getting close when you see a leaked ROM come up as a story on the tech sites, as you see with most other phones who get their updated ROMs leaked.

I hear ya on that! A leaked ROM would tell me that it is in the pipeline and would be released in a couple, or a few months afterwards. After seeing all the other HTC phones get leaks of gingerbread, (Evo, Evo Shift, Desire, Desire HD, and Thunderbolt), getting official announcements, or actually receiving the updates, I'm wondering where our leak is. I'm not complaining, just would like to see a leak soon to know it is coming. I just would like us to get word of a leaked ROM, preferably before they officially announce the rumored Holiday. Especially since the Holiday is gonna be my next phone after I hit my upgrade.

There was a leaked ROM for the unbranded DHD a weeks or so ago. Surprised I haven't seen any ROMs based on it yet. I've been running it for a week or so and it seems super stable.

This will be useful for future HTC Devices
One thing that concerns me is that HTC say they will not provide official ROMs (RUUs)
What does this mean for me?
You now have the ability to change the way the bootloader works, meaning that you can customize software on your device. HTC will not provide this customized software for your device, and we will not provide our official ROMs for customers to download. Once you have unlocked your device, you have agreed to the disclaimer that states that in the event of your rendering your device unusable, you will have to bear the responsibility for the recovery of your device, whether by repair or by other means.
Click to collapse
I'm hoping that all the RUUs we get are leaked, and that we will (presumably) still continue to get them?
EDIT
Looks like HTC have updated their website, it no longer says this. It said it earlier today but they have now changed it.
I dont care!!!
Who cares???
I already have it..
Yup... most incredible thing is how little anyone gives a f*%k.
Particularly anyone here.
They opened the stable door... but long after the horses bolted anyway.
There state some very interesting things in the disclaimer:
It is our responsibility to caution you that not all claims resulting or caused by or from the unlocking of the bootloader may be covered under warranty.
Click to collapse
They do not drop the warranty immediately. Only if you damage your phone caused by bad software.
Some content on your device may also be invalidated and cannot be accessed any more because of invalid DRM security keys.
Click to collapse
Content will probably not be available anymore, like HTC Watch.
We do not guarantee that updating your device via FOTA will not render your device unusable.

They will even drop support for their own updates.
However, due to some of our carrier customers concerns, certain models with specific restrictions may not be able to be unlocked.

Phones with branding will probably not be able to be unlocked.
So, they stil provide warranty for hardware parts, fair enough, judging by the posts regular users are making here it will be totaly insane from them to offer software support also.

any news about the 1.45.(707).x update?
I love how everyone here is so concerned about their little warranty. HTC has stated that it will not completely void your warranty.
In other news, I don't see the Canadian version on that list. Are we getting screwed over?

"If Samsung does indeed announce the update, we’re guessing it will still take time for it to float its way down to U.S. carrier-branded Galaxy S III units. Software updates need to be approved by each carrier individually, and that’s why we usually need to wait a few months for the updates to officially launch"

I wouldn't get all that depressed. I haven't noticed a whole lot of difference between my HOX running CR4.5 (based on 4.0.4) and my Nexus 7. Main differences are cosmetic.
Project butter doesn't appear to make much of a difference. The two seem equally fast, though the Nexus sometimes opens certain apps a bit faster.

Likely soon. The new phablet is reportedly using JB and to be launched on Big V. Plus with HTC having the recent email its likely they are going to refocus some.

figured the HOX would be getting JB before the s3. last place i read said HOX would most likely get it first.

Hello XDA, just popping in to say hello. Sorry if there's an introduction thread and I didn't see it, but I just thought I'd formally say hello.
Just got my One S on Friday of last week, and I am madly in love with it so far. This is my 4th HTC device in a row on T-Mobile (Shadow, G1, G2, and now the One S).
I've been coming here lurking for a few years now for info on my various phones, and decided to actually register today. Have always gotten nothing but solid info here.

Welcome. I'm relatively new myself having acquired my first HTC indeed my first Android on in May. Loving the experience. You are right, there's some good posters on these fora, if you are into pimping your dial, you can do worse than stick around.
FWIW I had a very good experience with Klins Unofficial AOKP Jelly Bean ROM. I've returned completely to stock now with locked bootloader and a later hboot because I was spending too much time flashing ROMs. Becomes addictive. Now doubt once the OTA JB update has been and gone, I'll get itchy fingers again.
Hope your experience is as good as mine.

If they came out with a 200mhz phone 1mb ram an sf 3.7inch screen just because it looks pretty you would say its the best phone in the world its just not about looks its about what it packs under the hood like Samsung good luck waiting a year to unlock your boot loader while us Samsung people is running the latest version of android LOL

I don't think you understand what HTC means to smartphones and Xda-developers. HTC was the company that started it all long before Apple came out with the I-phone. I am not sure how old you are but way back in the day around the 2004-2005 era. We used to have these things PDAs (personal digital assistant). Basically it was the first hand held computers. Well HTC came along and reinvented the phone world with something similar to these PDAs. What HTC did was take the idea of a PDA and build it into a phone. On top of that they thought it would be a good Idea to add a data connection to this new "smart" phone that way it had access to the internet. This evolutionary idea of crossing a phone line with a data line in one phone became known as the HTC XDA (x meaning the cross of data and a phone line). There is a reason HTC is highly regarded on xda and that's because HTC started this all. So lets get one thing straight, if it wasn't for HTC this website and smartphones in general wouldn't exist they way we know them now. Better show a little respect lol
