do you think porting the app from miui to others roms and fix permission would work?

I think its a kernel thing as faux put it that 2way call recording is unstable and isn't really worth implementing(atleast for his kernels). On the other hand, I think bricked kernel supported this, not sure if it still does tho so ur gonna have to go check out the thread, bt you would then have to install some 2 way calling app. So its really Rom independent.

I believe the leedroid rom has 2 way call recording. It says that under the features.
All ROMs support it as long as they have Bricked kernel or you can flash Bricked after install.
I've been trying all the ROMs as Call Recorder is a must for me and I've settled with Hypersensation with the latest Bricked.
Pyramid does work well out of the box as he uses Bricked but I don't want to migrate to it until it's Sense 3.5. Actually, I'd better check if it's 3.5 yet

Coincidentally, I tried ARHD (4.1.4) just after my last post with bricked and it's working a charm!
I had 2 problems.......
Superuser and the auto update which made it FC. You just need to roll is back to the original and it's ok.
The other was with Call Recorder FCing so I rebooted to recovery and fixed permissions.
Battery is good with my Anker 1900 - medium use and it's gone for a day and still at 40% and I haven't calibrated yet.

I think you having the bricked kernal may be enabling it, as that apk did not work for me. I have the Sensation Z710e, completely stock, factory unlocked, S-OFF, but not rooted. I see the current bricked kernal is at 1.50 and people are complaining about bugs (see last page of that thread).

I think I would like to install your version 1.41r, but don't see where to get that versio. Also, I am not sure how to install it. The Bricked Kernal thread says
How to install?
Just flash from recovery. Though it creates a boot.img out of the one on your phone while flashing, it should work with the majority of ROMs out there.

Also, why does the quickstart guide for the phone say this, when it is such an issue to get recording working (no standard app)"
Know about privacy laws
Some countries have strict laws about how and when you can record phone conversations. It’s a good idea to find out what the laws are where you live before you use your phone’s recording feature.

What recording feature? Don't seem to be any in the standard apps and it seems we need a different kernal to get third party apps to work.

I tried this and it didn't work at all until I switched to Bricked Kernal. Then it worked, but very poorly. The other voice was extremely quiet and my voice had additional noise and was loud but not clear.
I tried DSoft CallRecorder and it crashed when I dialed the phone.
Then I tried Total Recall (default settings) and that works. The other voice is still slightly low in volume but nowhere near as bad as I got with the recorder shared in this thread. I am still on Bricked. If I am going to go with Total Recall, do I need to stay on Bricked Kernal? Or should I go back to what I had before, which I think was an HTC kernal?
Also, curious if anyone say good results with any other call recording application?

Sometimes when I look at my phone I will see the icon for data usage at the top of the screen. The wifi has been turned on and the mobile network is using up my credit?
This either has something to so with app synching(but I have auto-sync turned off) or some other sneaky setting.
As of right now I have checked the "restrict background data" box so I will see if that solves the problem.
This usually happens after being connected to my laptop wifi but not only then. Has anyone had this problem or found a solution?
Which ROM and firmware are you on bro? This was an issue with ROM's based on old firmwares. The latest InsertCoin, ARHD and Elegancia ROM's don't have this issue.
My XE does this too, I'm on the standard OTA ICS update. I was wondering if it was something to do with using Juicedefender, do you use it?
If you are on stock ICS, then this problem should be solved with the update after upgrading. It's a setting update, about 15mb. I had the same problem after updating to ICS too. I think somebody posted about it earlier.

And for clarity, I don't use any apps really I just use the base ones that came with the phone.
Thanks for the posts. I turned background data on again because the messaging app was and still is giving me trouble where it stays on "loading..." for one contact. Haven't had the original issue occur since I posted but I also haven't used it on my laptop hotspot.
Are you using a stock rom now..??
I've noticed my phone do this as well (see ROM I'm using in the signature), but only after midnight, like it's got some kind of sleep mode so you wouldn't be bothered by notifications in the middle of the night.
I started noticing this when I first tried OrDroid and it stayed that way when I went back to ARHD. Don't think I've seen the phone do that before using OrDroid for the first time (but maybe it did and I just didn't notice it)

Not that I can see... You don't even use the lg updater tool for this update, they make you download a separate exe file that runs the software update.

Well I did the "update" and flashed cwm and restored my 2.3.3 backup of bionix and calls work for me now (using grooveIP as my phone is disconnected at the moment) and before I'd get the static noise.
So I'm assuming it worked for me, I'm PRETTY sure I still got the popping noise when using grooveIP? I'll restore another backup and see if anything else changed.
Restored an ICS backup and call works through grooveIP still...
Hmm... wonder if they did just change something minor in the baseband to allow it to work?

I think the most likely thing is that they changed something in the ROM itself (like the RIL, or similar code), so flashing another ROM isn't going to benefit.
Okay, so finally after several hours of installing this and that, I finally got back to a stock rooted 2.3.4 v21y. I figured cool, its working now, no call audio issues. Proceeded to install EB (GB 2.3.7) and now I'm getting the clicking and popping sounds. Going back to stock again and seeing if I can run this update, then reinstall EB to see if call audio is fixed.

What baseband are you on?
And guys this update is most likely supposed to be used on phones that have the latest baseband in conjunction to having the stock 2.3.4 rom. I doubt it's meant to make better audio quality if you're still on the old baseband.
I have gotten the program used to flash the update, smartflash. And the bin it used. And the dlls. It doesn't look very helpful though.

Nandroid backup, update your baseband with any of the guides or the one i have, check my signature, and then provide support for the new baseband to that rom if it does not have it. There is also a guide for this on my signature.

If I do this, then I would have to start with a fresh ROM install correct? When you restore the Nandroid, doesn't that restore the BB also?
Backup your current ROM restore a stock based ROM use the LG update tool to update the baseband, reflash CWM then restore your backup of HFP. Restores don't change baseband you need to use your computer to baseband (LG tool for updating/KDZ method)

I have tried extracting the camera.apk from 4 builds and pushing it to system apps and still doesn't fix it. Does anyone know what's going on or how I can fix this?
Error message says "unfortunately camera has stopped"

I did actually use one of the ics one clicks, but that didn't fix the issue. It's odd because returning to stock using odin doesn't fix it either, yet audio and voip w/ skype still work just fine. One of your nightly builds temporarily gave me audio, but after a couple of hours it stopped working again.

I had the same issue and was only able to find it was something from my titanium backup causing it. I could load any rom and it would work fine. Soon as I ran my batch restore, my camera no longer worked , even on restore to stock. I then did a fresh install of a from, fresh install of all my apps from the play store, and brought over only the most essential data from tibu and haven't had the issue since.

I'd Like to begin by apologizing for making a post about something that may already have been addressed but I'm in a bit of a jam and I hope someone can help me as soon as possible. Yesterday my old phone died and I had to get a new one right away for some club/business meetings I have so i picked up a used g2x on craigslist (Stupid Mistake). The phone looked fine and I tested the speaker i didn't actually try to make a call (Stupid Mistake #2). So when I try to make a call the phone makes this weird "Ticking"(Only way i can describe it) sound and I can't make or receive a call the call connects but all i can hear is the weird ticking. It does this on both T Mobile and over Google voice. Video sound and music are fine through both the speaker and head phone jack. The phone was rooted running ICS 4.0.4 EaglesBlood ROM and is on CWM recovery. I'm new to this phone as my old phone was a Samsung vibrant so any help with this would be much appreciated as I assume there's no way to "Odin back to stock" for this phone and I'm hoping this isn't hardware related and that someone can help me out. I'd try to figure this out for myself but im hurrying to try to contact people through google voice so I'm on a bit of a time crunch. Thanks In advance for any assistance. It is much appreciated.

What ROM are you running and what baseband does it have?(give me the date, ex. July 2012, etc.)
But from what i can see with what you provided, you just have to flash the baseband fix by Owain, just search around in the development forum and you should find it. If not ill post a link.
