[Q] miui logo disapers - Samsung Infuse 4G

Why does my custom carrier always disapear when I open my phone after being locked on miui. I always have to toggle the carrier logo tab to see it but once my phone screen locks and I open my phone back up my logo is gone.

Do you have any notification or background apps using the top left of the status bar? My juice defender notification always hides the carrier text, but not seeing "MIUI" (the custom text i put) never really bothered me lol

Sweetness, that worked. So basically if we want the custome logo than we can't have anything running on the top left side of the status bar?

I haven't really looked into it but ya pretty much, must be a bug or something in extended settings. That's the main reason I never got around to DLing a logo, I like my notifications lol

Interesting find.

I'm not sure if anyone else knows about this, but if you hold your finger on the status bar until the notification tray starts to open and then stops opening, you can slide your finger back and forth on the status bar to adjust brightness without going into your settings. I just found this out and thought it was cool and worth sharing

I kept noticing it changing brightness randomly sometimes since I got it back in August, and I just figured it out, haha. Oh well, eitherway, I'm sure there are people out there who will be pleased to learn this trick

its a touchwiz 3 original feature from android 2.1 on thw galaxy s. but the aosp guys musta copied it.
Before people say it doesn't work, allow me to state the obvious. You have to turn off auto-contrast.

While the idea is nice, I find it a bit tedious. I'll go with a switch widget instead.

Notification icon?

Just upgraded to att official pics 4.0.4 and I have a new icon I've never seen before that won't go away. Its a box with a minus sign on the far left of the status bar.
I've searched and found out its telling me my notification is disabled? Is this true? I've only seen 1 post saying this.
And the directions to turn notification on don't work. They said to pull down the bar and toggle notification.... I don't have that option.
Help me make it go away please.

It seems to have gone away on its own. I'd still like to know what it was and why.

install cm10? afaik thats part of sense and you can't change it unless you go to aosp rom.
That was one of my peeves when I switched from the GS II to the One X, too.
I can't find a way to change it on sense based ROMs.

To me this is insignificant... And in my mind I'm thinking really?
You have to pull it a little more than half way down to see it, plus the way HTC has it you actually see more notifications because you see from the bottom up
You can just flick downwards to pull it down quick and flick it back up to get rid of it
Otherwise switch to a aosp Rom, put your touchwiz launcher and enjoy

Notification bar turns grey

I am not a n00b about stuff but I still don't understand why sometimes when I open an app like this one or chrome the notification bar turns grey... any ideas? Not that its a problem just curious. Don't do it every time
Sent from my XT897 using xda app-developers app
The entire notification bar...? Or just the 3g/wifi/signal bars?
If the color of the signal is changing (blue vs. gray) this indicates connectivity to the internet... or, more specifically, connectivity to Google's servers. If it's blue (used to be green), you're connected. If not, there is some issue (or it's in the middle of trying to connect).
he means the entire bar. I have this "problem" also on my device.
On stock firmware it is transparent. As chrome puts white under it, it will be grey.

Anyone noticing burn-in?

I just did the KitKat up so my notification bar went transparent and now I'm noticing some burn-in. My screen is always on auto and never left sitting around w/ the screen on. Is any one else see this? Opening th books app and letting it go full screen is a good way to test.

My notification bar is black as well.. and is only transparent on the lock screen. Are you sure it's transparent?
However, on topic, I do not see any sort of burn-in. I wasn't even sure that was possible on these types of screens? But I could be wrong.

Are you using nova launcher? With 4.4 it has a setting under look and feel to enable transparent bar
Sent from my XT1080 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
If you're on stock 4.4 you should NOT have a transparent notification bar...
If you're using Nova there is an option to set it to transparent
Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
Guys, the transparent notification bar is not the default with 4.4. I have GEL but other 3rd party launchers like Nova also enable this.
OP, are you sure that you're actually seeing burn-in? The bar is transparent but fades to black.

Not that it's particularly relevant to the OPs question, but the KitKat update does, in fact, have the transparent status bar.
Unfortunately, what it doesn't have is the resized launcher to support it so it still looks black.
