hello, i am having a problem unlocking my samsung captivate from the rogers network, i just bought this phone used. i put an active sim card in the phone from the mts network and power the phone on, i get an error message saying "network unlock pin number is entered incorrectly. contact your service provider. Cellphone : Samsung Galaxy S Captivate IMEI : 354182040128892
ive read all the other posts about using odin and such but that is all greek to me, and before i even try to mess with all that i was wondering if anyone had a for sure answer for me that doing all that will even fix this problem.
any and all help is really appreciated!! thanks alot
note: my friend has the same captivate, i896 on the rogers network, if i put my mts sim card in his phone it prompts me for an unlock code like it should, and if i put his fido sim card in my phone it works and makes calls as it should.
does any one have any ideas?

Hi,
I recently unlocked a Vario III. It was successful in the sense I could insert a new SIM card without it barring me from starting the phone, I do end up getting an error when inserting the new SIM, "Phone Not Allowed MM#6". Does anyone know what that means? I inserted a T-Mobile SIM and while it doesn't give me the error, it doesn't connect to the T-Mobile network either.
I'm mostly curious to know if this is a defect in the phone, network, or the unlocking procedure.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Wow........digging in the graveyard.
Have you check with your carrier to make sure that the sim you are trying to use is enabled for the network and not locked . The sim unlocker, unlocks your phone to use any sim. It does not unlock a locked sim card.
Have you ran the sim unlocker?

I'm in Bolivia. I have a samsung galaxy s, I unlocked with SUperOneClick (for rooting) and sgs tool to unlock it. Then after using a local carrier for about two weeks my phone got the mm#6 error. I was looking for solutions, and then my brother realized that I have to register the phone with the line (IMEI with line). Here in Bolivia exists a law that block phones if they are not registered at someones name and Id. So with nothing to lose, I called assitance of the carrier and register the IMEI I found in the Android menu (About phone>status>IMEI) with the GSM chip/line I have. Wait for 20 minutes and voilá! phone got signal and it's working now. I hope still working from now and on. SO IF YOU HAVE THIS TROUBLE CALL YOUR CARRIER AND REGISTER YOUR PHONE'S IMEI WITH THE LINE YOU ARE USING, IT'S SIMPLE. YOU CAN TRY THAT BEFORE GETTING INTO SOFTWARE STUFF.
HOPE THIS HELP SOMEBODY.
GOOD LUCK!
i have problem with my nexus s ii cant get in my carrier network im promoted to write my pin code but when im writing it and press ok the phone cant find nothing stuck with no singal what should i do
i think is general problem i tried my sim card on another device the same and my friends father doesnt have singal on the samsung galaxy 3 in the mornig before leave to the job show its general problem
Have you done anything to your phone since the last time it worked? Any updates? Did you flash your rom/radio? If you tested it on someone else's phone and it didn't work there either I'd say it's your sim card. Try in a 3rd phone just to be sure, but I'd consider taking it to your Cell provider to get the sim card checked out.
Call your carrier.
Hello,
A friend of mine brought me the Infuse from the US. It is rooted and unlocked ( he tried it with a card different than the AT&T and had no problem), however when I insert the sim card of any of my contrie's network providers it asks for a pin and then it starts "unlocking sim". I tried leaving it for the whole night, but it didn't work, also I tried removing the sim lock for the card from a different phone, but that did not work either- there is no unlocking sim massage, but I can't call or text. What could the problem be?

Got the same issue solved it by toggling airplane mode.
BTW every CM (7,9.10) have the same "unlocking sim" stuck issue with my Infuse 4g.
I brought G930FD galaxy s7 in Singapore during my deployment. It worked fine with other countries sim card. Now i'm back in US tried to use my phone with Verizon sim card
and it didn't work. I got signal but there is no network connection, only Emergency call pop up for a minute then gone.
I tried to adjust the APN but didn't work. Also my phone kept saying "Refreshing Sim Card" couple times. I did some reseach if it's actually region lock but I couldn't find a straight
answer for it. I wonder if this phone is really region lock. If not then what could be a problem for it?

From what I know, in order to unlock the region lock, you have to make at least 5 minutes of phone calls in the place you got it. At least this is how it is with the European version I have.
Now about the network issues, if it wasn't a carrier version then it should be unlocked, meaning you can put any Sim card.
My bet, since it's from another country, is that you have to call Verizon and ask them to let it in their network.
I don't believe the G930FD supports CDMA...it is a GSM phone. This is means no compatibility with Verizon or Sprint. You need the US version of the S7 (with the Snapdragon chip) to get CDMA support.
