regarding wifi, try the wifi static app. search the forum on how to use it.
if u meant install instead of "port" then u can install whichever theme you want as long as its supported by the fw.
no need for unrooting n odexing

Yes im using the theme supported by my fw..its the ics theme, which according to the maker of the theme is supported with my fw.
So whn I will install another theme by flashing through cwm I wont have problems..I mean like overlapping or smthng..this theme will be gone and the new theme will be appeared..??

yes, installing a new theme through cwm removes the current theme and installs the new one (make sure to wipe cache afterwards!). no, that doesn't guarantee it'll fix the wireless, unless there was a bug in the theme. if two or even three different themes have the same wifi issue, it's like fw related, not theme related.

If the new theme overwrites all the files that have been previously themed.
Tanks guys.....
Any advice about the upgrading my fw via kies..?
Why do you want to upgrade your FW via KIES if you are already using Odin?
I would install XXKPQ, deodex the ROM, root, apply ext4 conversion and install UtterChaos Kernel and flash a nice theme:

i would love to install xxkpq, but im afraid as some people complaint they get wifi problems, disconnects every other second, cause now my situation is that i updated my phone to ginger 2.5 via kies...then i got bored so rooted then deodexed then installed a theme too..
BUT if you give me assurance by using your way i wont have any problems, plus the uc kernal will make my phone much better ..i will do it your way...its just that i dont understand that much in technical stuffs..noob.
Hey all,
I just recently acquired my new Samsung Infuse 4g and downloaded the latest SuperOneClick. It said that it successfully rooted and installed busybox on my system. Went to use titanium backup and when ran it says that my phone is not rooted. Any suggestions?

Try Skin's port from the same thread
Im using that.it doesn't really work for me. the restore option in skin's cwm alpha also doesn't work for other SGY users. They get an error message like mine saying "Error while flashing boot image". maybe new releases of SGY has something to do about it. Im not sure though.
U might have installed some port using rom manager earlier or after that.. Just a thought..

Nope. i also tried using the SGY of my sister. but i recieved the same error message. We bought this phone on december 2012. maybe somethings wrong with the new releases of SGY. so frustrating

thanks for your help ill try it
EDIT: hey. A very big thanks for your help! It worked. I can't believe it. I spent days trying to figure out what's causing the problem. tried redownloading the backup file. flashing stock rom. updating stock rom to the latest version 1st before flashing the back up file via CWM alpha. etc etc...
And now I can't believe the only problem is the cwm alpha that I'm using. maybe the one that i've been using is the old version of skin's cwm alpha?
nwei A BIG THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP!

Refer to CM A8 Main page, you can find reference to newer Google Play installation.
Well there is CM9 in the forum then why to install CM 7?? U mean why to use bullock cart when the Ferrari is available???
Well anyway , its ICS. so I prefer it
Anyways you can use odin to flash it. Apply update.zip if you want to upgrade the version of CM. That can be done in CWM recovery mode.

That is because CM7 (which you refer to as a bullock cart) is actually very smooth, stable and more complete than CM9. The handling on the ferrari is bad now. so some tune ups are required till it becomes stable and most of the things work.

I just DG to GB from ICS.... i totally fogot to take the precaution of asking experts here, and now its gone.....
i just flashed stock 2.3.6. indian rom to SGR, and it successfully passed...
phone boots, and it say touch android to continue, from then on it just shows loads of Process.xxxxxx.xxxxxxx has stopped....around 15 to 20 FC's...
phone doesnt work at all...just stuck there,,,,,
i flashed ICS rom again, in that also same problem....same FC's...but atleast i can seee the homescreen....
now what to do ???
P.S- Ignore the spells, i am tensed, i shud give ma phone to SSC tomo, thats why i was flashing a stock ROM -_-
also searched a bit about this issue, didnt get an perfect answer..
Please help me fast
first of all did you formated u'r partitions (factory reset) after flashing STOCK rom 2.3.5 Indian rom ?
now to your problem
flash ardatdat ICS kernel 4.2 as you are using ICS and then try the whole process again.
make sure after flashing stock Rom you should wipe cache, dalvik cache and factory restore.
I did same when I was Downgraded my SGR from ICS to GB
