okay thank you, really looking forward to using this on the asus! as it should be way better then stock browser.
Mines rooted... still won't install.
Moved it to the /system/apps directory and still no go.
Tried the /data/apps directory too and still nothing.
Boo, this would be cool if it would work.
you think someone can modified the apk to get it work? atleast on tablets.
It's most likely not going to work because that version of chrome is assumingly optimised for Intel chips and Google TV boxes only at the moment.
It will come for Android devices eventually though
wow that really sucks, it would've been awesome to see it working on tablets.
The built-in browser is essentially Chrome but without plug-in support.
It could be, but chrome is 10x better then the stock browser. everytime I use the stock browser it crashes.

by this, do you mean the desktop version? because if it is, then you might be comparing apples and oranges.
but comparing apples to apples, chrome and the stock browser does use the same rendering engines. the actual apps are merely shells for the rendering engine. if you want to try another webkit browser, try dolphin.
and if you want to try something else, try opera (very good browser).
anywho, if you find that the apk doesn't work, i bet it has framework dependencies that are only in that specific version of honeycomb. try uploading the entire rom, and maybe someone might be able to figure out what else it needs.

Thanks for the reply, but no I wasnt talking about the Desktop version that would be even better lol im comparing it to the google tv and the stock on the transformer. i've been using the latest Chrome since I update the unit(Google tv) and it hasnt force close or crash once. it works very well.

Chrome browser is out
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.android.chrome
Got it running on existz's aospX rom. Liking it so far, seems at least a bit faster than default browser.
Cool! I've been waiting for this, I use Chromium on both of my computers so I was looking forward to chromsync. It's good to see it being developed even if it isn't quite perfect yet. Flash support and add-ons are all they need to add for me to be happy.
Has anyone had any issues with this browser?
I downloaded it, and it seemed to work fine at first, but upon typing in a website, Chrome would freeze and my entire phone would reboot. I've never had any smartphone react so badly to an app. I'm running it on my Inspire 4g with LC's Icecoldsandwich 1.4 .
Posting this from the chrome browser on the same rom, must just be you. You should clear data and cache in chrome and the default browser and see what happens.
Is there any chance you could give me a quick rundown on how to do that? I'm familiar with wiping caches for flashing roms, but don't have the slightest idea how to do it for individual apps
EDIT* Never mind. I figured out how to clear the caches. Still the same problem. First I loaded XDA and it worked fine. Then I typed in boingboing.net (which is the site I used to test it every time I had this problem) and it crashed, again... My phone reboots and every app is gone from my drawer (Except for Cordy). This time, for curiosity's sake I tried to run that game. Started it up, then hit the home button. Trebuchet crashes and the phone works again.
I'm pretty bummed, honestly. Chrome has been my favorite browser for years on the computer and I was really hoping it would come to android (Lucky for me, it did only 2 weeks after I got my first android device). Maybe the next beta update or the next LC update will make them play nicer together. Any other recommendations for the meantime would be appreciated

A lot of small issues that pop up with apps can be solved by clearing data. Its one of the most useful tricks, IMO

I like it, but it doesn't really offer much more than the stock browser in ICS. I like the UI of stock and the speed boost isn't massive. Also the fact that the search bar/ url bar stays in place while scrolling is an annoyance. I have it for fun, but its not ready to be my everyday browser

Chrome for Android will not get flash support.

I checked it out. Seemed to work well enough. I'm running the aospX rom
So excited to check this out! I'll post what I think later. It seems that no flash support is a killer for me though.
I installed a Chrome Beta apk I got from some of the other forums here at XDA, but I seem to be getting FCs every time I launch the app, was wondering if anyone got it working or if anyone has found a fix for this issue.
It requires hw acceleration. Won't work for us yet until we get that achieved.

That makes sense, I did manage to download an apk that does not FC every time, but I can't really says it's usable.
Here's hoping the CM9 team or some other dev manages to make it work someday.

I got it directly from the market and it loads but all pages are blank.

I can't download it from the market since I don't live in the US, but I get the same results as you, it loads but all pages are blank, and I can see the synced results on the omnibox but no page returns.
I have it installed. No FC's, but it doesn't work. As stated, it needs hardware acceleration. It went through the entire setup, sign in, and import of all normal information. But when you try to load anything, you stare at a blank screen.
have u try texasice' ROM, igoogle chrome beta work great with ICS AOSP

Update to 1.4.2 fixes Chrome beta so you may want to give it a go.
I tryied once downloaded from dropbox and it works fine but a little slow

Sorry if this has been solved before with ICS, but I'm stumped. I had a Moto Triumph before this. It had Gingerbread, and I installed CM7 onto it. Rooted, overclocked, the whole nine yards. I tried to install Flash from Play but it said it's not supported in my country (WTF, thanks, Adobe!) So I found an APK elsewhere and installed it. Bam! Flash works in Dolphin Browser. It's pretty slow, but it works.
Now, I did the same thing for my Photon Q and its preinstalled ICS. Any browser I try, including Opera Mini Next, Chrome, Firefox, Dolphin Browser and the default Android browser, I just get a blue cube icon where the flash object should be. I downloaded an app from Play that runs .SWF files and it displays the exact same blue cube.
Is there a workaround that anyone is aware of? If Adobe doesn't start supporting mobile devices, I think we'll be seeing Flash replaced before very long. By an open standard.
Officially Adobe has stopped supporting Flash via mobile going forward....but I believe you can still download/install the apk for whatever the last released version for each Android version via this link (you'll have to scroll down to where it lists 'Flash player for Android 4.0 archives' and grab the one at the top of that list in the case of the Q):
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html#main_Archived_Flash_Player_versions_for_developers
And that worked perfectly. Plays nice and smooth, too. Thanks a ton!

You're quite welcome....its not often I'm in a position to be able to help someone rather than being one of the ones asking questions but I was prepared on that one, I read that elsewhere and bookmarked it in my Photon Q folder for later use myself when I get one. I almost did this past weekend but decided to hold off still for now....then when I read in one of the other threads that Roam Control isn't (at least currently) working on it, that's kind of a deal breaker for me until that's fixed. Forcing roaming while at work is just shy of an absolute must unfortunately. :/
The G2 (AT&T) stock Browser supports Adobe Flash Player. Just go to Adobe's Archived Flash Player versions and download the latest version under Android 4.0. It didn't work on the Galaxy S4 4.2.2 stock browser so I thought it was worth mentioning.
Remember this works only on the stock Browser. It does NOT work in Chrome. Chrome does NOT support Flash!
And make sure that the option Enable plug-ins is set to Always on in the Browser Settings.
Very nice. I'm jealous. The Verizon version only has Chrome, no stock browser.

Verizon and their stuff....
I love Chrome but sometimes I just NEED to see websites that include Flash content and its awesome to have the option to see them if needed.
If you're on Verizon you can still get the AOSP Browser and add Flash. I just did it, but I'm rooted and I don't know if it would work on non-rooted phones or not.
Install the [ROOT]AOSP Browser Installer from the Play Store. Ignore the warnings and have it install the AOSP Browser. Then go into your App maager and remove [ROOT]AOSP Browser Installer just to clean things up. You'll now have the stock browser that works fine.
Then just follow the instructions in the OP to install Flash. Works great.

On my Verzion G2 there is no LG browser... just Chrome (which won't use Flash). Other versions of the G2 use the AOSP browser. You can have multiple browsers on the same device... no problem.

Does Capture Plus work with this browser?
Also, I've been using Dolphin Browser and it seems to support all my flash needs as well give it a try.
Does International version support flash?
Another workaround (Works on Verizon)
I also have got this to work with Dolphin Browser on my LG G2 Verizon flavor.
Doet the aosp browser from the play store have the PIE controls you can swipe in from the left? I hate having that adressbar popping up when I scroll up.
I tried the aosp installer last week, but didnt get it to work. Also tried some other ways of pushing it, but then broke the default browser in the progress. Dont want to reflash my rom again, but if it can get me the PIE controls I will keep trying it.
I've got the international version and the browser seems to have lots of bugs. Double tapping a column of text doesn't always resize it or align it with the screen properly, after a week my bookmarks disappeared and refused to come back so I had to do a factory reset, now the top and bottom bars no longer auto hide. I like the browser because it has extra features not found in Chrome but it feels like a beta product. I'm going to give dolphin and firefox a go.
Hi there... I have a new D800 and am trying to get flash installed by following the above tips. Even though I've tried several times, it's not happening. Could someone please tell me which flash version in the archived list you were able to get working using the default browser, unrooted, on the AT&T G2?
Thanks.... I am very hard of hearing and need to be able to watch the ASL videos online.

It works now but only on some videos.
Thank you !!
Thanks
Awesome. I had assumed that the stock player would have flash plugin installed, and when I tried to open a site with flash, was surprised to find that it couldn't handle it. Now I am able to. Thanks for the info.
AWESOME! Just wish I had seen this over the weekend when I was trying to watch college football on CBS while on my way to my outlaws! I couldn't get flash to work on anything.
I'm on Verizon and I just installed the Flash for Android 4.0 and this browser:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.android.browser
and Dolphin and both work just fine with Flash sites and the G2 has enough power to actually handle it. I have a feeling it would destroy battery life if used too much but for times when you need it, it's great to know it works, for now.
Not sure how many of you are Sprint users; but there was a software update released for the Sprint G2 last week that apparently (at least for my slightly disgusted experience) has REMOVED the flash capability from the built-in browser. Can anyone confirm?
Stock Browser KitKat
Verizon KitKat is missing stock browser, of course. Tried using the stock LG Browser from JellyBean, but it FC's. Does any variant have LG Browser on KitKat? If so, could someone please post the APK + ODEX files?
Good information.
I've heard this is possible for the Note Pro but cannot find an actual working process for either.
Any luck out there for others?

There's a thread here somewhere on using a hacked flash apk with dolphin and jet pack. Works great. As for Java? No idea.
Working java binaries (runtime environment, not a browser plugin...) were distributed with android apktool:
https://code.google.com/p/apktool/
However since kitkat i cant get it to work. The binaries structure is very messy and it would take some time to catch how to launch java vm in an appropriate way, ie. letting it use associated so libs. Didnt have time yet.
They are also seem to be redistribuded with AIDE app. Didnt checked out that yet, too.
Above may let you execute jar applications from command line.
Browser plugin not available atm.
Um what do you want with java on an android tablet?

Because Adobe do not care about Android Flash users.
KitKat version is working at all thanks to community, not to the developer... Adobe depreciated Flash some time ago (a year or something?). It's not optimized, that's it.
It's not a drama after all, as the whole world seems to be switching to HTML5...
PS: you may want to try turning on GPU acceleration in developer options...
PS2: you may also want to try Puffin Browser from Google Play store, which has newer version of flash included (and really works!), however I cannot guarantee if the performance will be better...
