[Q] p999 to p990 - T-Mobile LG G2x

my phone which was a p999 completely bricked and I used the Nvflash to restore it, I didn't know that my phone was a p999. I thought it was a p990 because wind advertises it as it is a p990. So I Nvflashed the phone to a p990 and now I have no connection to the network and many apps don't even work properly. Is there anyway to revert back to p999?

If it was completely bricked, then there would have been no chance of reviving it. Just wondering.

If it is indeed a p999 model, why don't you just flash a ROM made for the G2x?

JUST did that and it worked like a charm, I can't believe my service is also up and running. I live in Canada (Toronto), so anyone that lives here use the link below and everything will be alright

Wind Mobile does not advertise it as a P990. They advertise it as an LG 2X, which it is. Only T-Mobile USA is legally allowed to use the "G2X" name. The LG 2X comes in three hardware version, P990, P999 and SU660. You need to make sure which hardware version you have before you flash any rom. Currently there is no way to fix what you did. You have corrupted the baseband code with the P990 baseband code which uses an Infineon baseband chip and is not compatible with the Qualcomm baseband chip in the P999. At this time nobody has come up with a way to flash the correct baseband to the device. The only thing you can try is to find the thread about using KDZ method to reflash the phone. If you are lucky that might restore everythng including your baseband. You need to search the forums for this method.

If you dump nvram from one phone and flash it to another, you will most likely then need to do an IMEI repair, because I believe that is where the IMEI is stored along with the network lock/unlock status.
His problem though is that he flashed the wrong baseband to the phone and changed the partitioning. You will need to restore the P999 parition structure and somehow flash the correct baseband to the phone, which nobody has succeeded in doing yet.

i try to find jtag conector but is very small and can't find one to place easy.
only solution is to solder wires. is not first one i connect to jtag. the last one was p500 and this one have another type conector for jtag. for another phones have jig testpoint but for lg can't find.
i have very skilled electronic hand. i'm doing this job for many years, my friend is make a very known gsm box.
we know what we are doing and will repair that. , if you see i'm very confident.
don't have very much time to work at this project.
bye.

Samsung Galaxy S phones are the same way. Most variants don't have a jtag header and have very small solder pads. You need a very skilled hand to solder to them.

With all due respect, your request makes no sense. Devices have either GSM radios (which include IMEI numbers) or CDMA radios (which include MEID numbers). What does your device have?
There is no way to wipe this number by flashing the device, period. What is it that you want to accomplish/get?

Which software you used to flash your phone?
If you used LGNPST, search for any .nv files
else
you'll have to approach any LG Service Center.
Please Note that It is not possible to edit/change from Others NVs.
I may be talking out my a$$ but it sounds like you need to reprogram/activate the phone. Have you tried dialing that?

LG P920 "no network" solution here...

Had one P920 in my service store and after hard reseting, I wanted to upgrade it to 2.3.5 for my customer and after upgrade, P920 had no network any more...
Spent whole yesterday and whole today to find a solution, tried every single solution found in this section and none worked. Phone still had no network...
So it fell to my mind, since we are a service shop, to use SE Tool's LG service add-on called LG Tool, made the P920 cable as specified by the makers of this tool, connected the networkless P920 to the tool, clicked to repair IMEI, repair bluetooth and finnaly clicked the Unlock button...
And voila, phone back to life, fully operating with full 2G/3G network and unlocked in less than five minutes...
Hope this help somebody with the same problem...
Regards
.
not work for my !!!!!!! i try this solution many time, lgtool show repair and ulock ok, if read info is ok, must be in the phone, *"06" ,ot show imei and the phone not read any sim card !

Does repairing IMEI change your imei? and if yes it is even legal?
Repairing your IMEI is legal as long as you use your original IMEI.

No network , no IMEI.. BASEBAND NEEDED lg su760

No network , no IMEI.. BASEBAND NEEDED LG su760
HI Guys
My Rom is ICS,
I have been struggling for the past 5 days to resolve this issue on my O3D.
Im new to flashing Roms and basebands so please bear with me.
The phone just stopped reading my sim card and no network. I took it into an LG shop they advised that i upgrade from Gingerbread to ICS, so i used the LG support tool to update to 4.0.4
After this it reads my sim card, but no Network, No IMEI.
Tried 3 different sim cards to no avail.
I called LG and they said i need to update from the country i received the phone from. I dont know which country the device comes from as i got it as a gift.
What i noticed is that while flashing all these diff roms the baseband stays the same: XMM6260
KERNEL: 3.0.21
I am in Mongolia and not sure what baseband to use or how to flash just the baseband.
Any help would be highly appreciated please, im getting desperate!LG says i need to get the IMEI showing to fix the issue.
Somebody updload v30b_00.kdz file

hope this can help. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1734330

I can't find my imei under the battery. Where is it? is it hexadecimal?
By the way, Flashing a baseband file (fls) won't fix imei. You still get no signal no imei nothing.
Go back to GB over the KDZ UPDATE. ONLINE!!!
after that flash the KDZ you like over the OFFLINE method.

Where is IMEI ? i have this problem too
It should be a long number (something like 12 or 15 digits) in the battery compartment, unless someone removed it to steal it or for some other reason.

I know we've chatted about this prior, but did the SIM card work when you first got the phone? Even tho all ROMs are reporting your device as P500, check under your battery to ensure that is is a P500. I think it's a P509 as that is the variant that is provisioned for TMobile. The P500 was originally provisioned for AT&T.

I don't think the phone is fully unlocked from TMobile. That's the only explanation I can think of. Family Mobile, as in from WalMart? Doesn't that operate on AT&T's networks?
EDIT:
Sorry, just checked. It operates on T-Mobiles network. As I said, it must not be fully unlocked from TMobile. Or there is something wrong with the SIM slot on the phone. Try cleaning the contacts on the SIM with a pencil eraser. Do the same for the contacts on the SIM slot and see if that doesn't help. Just a thought.

Another thought too. Did you try using KDZ with the SIM in the phone? If so, it's possible KDZ screwed up the SIM. That's how I bricked one of my P506's.
No,the previous owner probably did it Ill bet and plus I cant even flash a P509 rom only P500.

That's more than likely because of the recovery you are using. Download a P509 ROM, Rashed has CM10 build for the P509. Use OOne ROM Editor, in my signature, to remove the assert() statement from the updater-script( in Tools -> Build -> Build Options ). All that statement is for is to ensure that the ROM gets installed on the correct device. We know it's correct, so we can safely remove it.

That's the wrong baseband bro. And now I know why your device is saying no SIM. It's looking for an AT&T SIM card. That phone has been flashed with either KDZ or LGMDP to change the baseband and they used a P500's files to do it with. I'm not on a CM10 ROM right now, so I can't give you an exact answer, but the V10e should be V10s.

You will need to get a hold of KDZ and a file named V10S_00.kdz. I'm assuming you already have drivers installed on your PC and have a data cable.
Before using KDZ, remove the SIM and SDCARD from the device or you will brick it for sure.
Or take it to a local cell phone shop that flashes phones and have them do it.
According to my phone with Rashed's Build#7 CM10, baseband is -> LGP509AT-00-V10s-OPEN-COM-APR-23-2011+0
I found LGP509AT-00-V10s-310-260-APR-23-2011-0-DZ can you use that?

Please provide solution to revive my mobile .
Thanks in advance.
I dnt remember the IMEI number nor do I have the mobile box. Stuck with a Brick.
I am not too familiar with that model, but your IMEI should be under the battery. Should be a sticker. There is most likely a newer dll file you can use and make sure that you are using a USB 2.0 port. Some users said somewhere that they has issues on a 3.0 port.
