Ok guys.. Im new to sensation and to all battery calibration stuff..
Can you please explain to me how to properly calibrate battery ?
I have flashed custom rom (insert coin) and custom kernel (bricked) and now i need battery calibration..
I have 0% of battery on phone at the moment (phone is dead off), and what to do now?
Please tell me ...
thanks in advance
Laynee1
Charge too 100% once it's full turn off and charge till green light on.
Boot up power down and charge till green again. Boot into cwm delete battery stats on advanced and reboot. The then just use your phone for a few full cycles. Don't expect it to be better instantly could take days

Is that same way like some 1 mentioning in some thread, app for battery calibration ? Will i get same results with calibration app ?
The app just wipes the stats for you

Thanks for all answers..
I want to know this because i read somewhere here that when i calibrate my battery, it will all be normal..
And battery drain widget will show correct values..
p.s. And ive read somewhere to use Battery Monitor Widget, because only that battery current drain monitor shows correct values for Sensation..
Is that right ?
What program to use ?
Thanks again
Laynee1
Press the thanks button then lol
Bmw (battery monitor widget) isn't totally accurate either. To get most accurate reading tick mA corrections in bmw settings. I'm still pretty sure it's off tho, try some of the tips in the thread I posted, my battery is going OK

Cheers mate
I'm not sure if you've heard of this method but I'm in the process of working on this one as I just flashed a new rom onto my phone.
Charge it up to 100%, use it until it drops to 15% and then fully charge it again. Once it's 100% again, use it and use it past 15% and then fully charge it again. Right now I'm at the finishing part of charging my phone cause I just used it past 15%. Will tell you if I do see any improvements or significant changes.
Probably going to try out whynot's post on battery calibration as well.

I did a quick search for this but didn't find anything.
Is anyone else having issues with the battery stats after recharging. It seems that my phone never reaches full after recharging but a quick reboot will then show it at full.
Sorry in advance if something like this has already been posted.

Note: I don't own a Sensation
Try turning the phone off and letting it charge. Android has it's own power management, but with the phone off it should rely on the hardware fail-safes. When the phone fully charges, reboot it and Android should update the max voltage. You should see the correct battery percentages now.
I could be wrong, but it's worth a shot. You shouldn't have to do this frequently (Or ideally, at all).
hey im using leedroid v1.3 and the battery life on my phone is horrendous, i left the house at 11am this morning with 98 percent and after a 10 minute phone call i had 75 percent battery by 12 oclock. do you guys have any tips or things i can flash to get the phone through a day and a half or even 2 days somehow?
also having an issue with the speakerphone, its the lowest volume of any phone i think ive ever owned, ive got to put the phone to my head, so its basically like making a call but using the back as an earpiece. thanks for the help.
I'm having the same problem with my phone, on any rom. According to CurrentWidget, the Ma being used by my phone will not drop below 150, even while idling. I'm starting to believe that my battery is faulty.
Are u guys calibrating the battety?

I thought I was, but apparently I'm not. Can you point me in the right direction?
Download the battery calibration app from the market. Charge to full run the app calibrate.....drain than calibrate again and you should be fine.

Upgraded to v2 and ran the battery calibrator. Phone finally lasts a day. Thanks. Am I supposed to run the calibrator at like 10% or should I let it die and run it after a 100% charge?
Battery calibration + managing screen brightness massively increases battery life. You need root to be able to clear battery stats, right?

I believe the calibration tools want you to use them at 100% charge. I got a chichitec 1900mA/Hr battery, calibrated (i guess it is now) and my phone went for more than 24 hours before hitting the 49% mark. This was with light use (checking email, checking web forums, playing some Angry Birds, and making some phone calls) but still a HUGE difference from the stock battery. Also, I turn off data connection via quick settings when I am at home. I do turn on wifi though while at home. Calibration ought to help out big time, as these phones are reporting a dead battery long before it is really dead.
Also, dont pay attention to the current battery monitor's report for standby current. It isnt accurate.
Matt
That's the one reason I keep going back to the stock setup I just seem to get better battery life out of is than any of the custom ones I've tried. I've only tried a couple. Has anyone found a ROM that gets better battery life than stock?
I have a known issue.. but with a twist
When.my battery is showing that there is like 90% left. After a while and I reboot, there is only 4% left. That's a.known issue. But here is twist. If I reboot again, its back to 80% orso. And when I do.another reboot there is 75% remaining..
Another reboot shows 74% and so on
I'm sorry if this a known issue.. i don't have much time to search things while I'm working 45h a week.
Anyone knows a.solution for this?
I wiped battery stats. Discharged a few times and the.HTC trick.. non of these work
additional info.

i dont think you can do anything about it. people say that turning off the device instead of restarting helps. i also have battery jumps but not nearly as extreme as yours. maybe ~5-10% jump. if its a drop jump then it will stay there until the real percentage reaches that said level, if its higher then it will drop quickly to the real percentage. from my experience that is, not a big deal

I know that 10-15% drops are normal.
but a drop of 70% is a bit odd.
Its not very serious but its quite anoying, i think its affecting my battery life
Try flashing the battery fix. It helped me out. I had same problem but not so radical.

Use your phone for a while without changing roms or clearing stats, don't charge until your battery is totally dead then don't take of charge until it is totally full, once full turn off and charge till light green, then back on and charge till green then repeat till you feel confident that your battery us full, then go through full discharge and repeat it will settle down but patience us required, remember stay with 1 rom radio and kernel without clearing anything for at least 4 days

Ok, I'm having this issue where the battery reading is off or something, on my bike ride my phone was at %4 at 11:15p I came home and plugged it up an charged it and by the time I was done eating at 11:20p the battery was already @ 74%?! I remember GB had a fix for that, but I haven't found it for ICS, its very annoying.
So question is, is there a flashable fix for this? BTW I'm on Ordroid

wipe the stats and calibrate the battery again
there are couple of apps (battery moniter widget)
use that to properly calibrate the battery
also remember this jumps are common when you freshly flash a rom

Hi,
Battery calibration is a myth
But cycling it(charge/deplete/charge/deplete) does work.
I find 100% --> 5% several times "trains" the battery, and there are fewer jumps.
Also, when you reach 100%,leave it charging for fifteen minutes.

Now if i charge the battery when the phone is off it takes regular time to charge fully and lasts 2 days!! Its not convinient to turn off the phone and charge!! help???

there's apps to do it or the better option in my opinion is to use zeppelinrox's script to do it. just Google search for it there's a thread on xda with all his scripts.

I have a severe battery problem. The phone automatically turn off itself when there is still 4000mV left
(this is the voltage the battery calibration app says, i've confirmed it with an actual voltage-meter)
Wipeing batterystats.bin (calibrate the battery), doing a factory reset or switching back to cm7 does not help

I got a battery from Samsung with my new phone that wouldn't hold a charge. I phoned them up, they asked me some questions, were happy that I wasn't trying to scam them, and they sent me a new battery. It wouldn't solve your problem, but at least you could have a spare!
Get an app from market called CurrentWidget, after installing plug in charger and check amps, it Must be 999 mA not higher nor lower. If it is higher then get other charger.
