I did a quick search for this but didn't find anything.
Is anyone else having issues with the battery stats after recharging. It seems that my phone never reaches full after recharging but a quick reboot will then show it at full.
Sorry in advance if something like this has already been posted.

Try turning the phone off and letting it charge. Android has it's own power management, but with the phone off it should rely on the hardware fail-safes. When the phone fully charges, reboot it and Android should update the max voltage. You should see the correct battery percentages now.
I could be wrong, but it's worth a shot. You shouldn't have to do this frequently (Or ideally, at all).

Hey, I read that when you flash a new rom onto your device your battery life may not be the best for a little while after due to the memory of the battery being deleted from the phone.
Running the battery down to nothing then charging it up to 100 and beyond (keeping it plugged in) apparently causes your phone to get the new memory in place. This is what im doing now, my battery is at 1% and im about to plug it in to charge.
Could someone explain how this works please? Also, does flashing kernels affect the battery's memory? Thanks a ton!
Search for calibrate android battery. While statement is not exactly correct, but that's how its known. Also search for battery stats android. Once you read all the info available (shouldn't take longer than 50 years) come back here if you want to clarify anything.

Ok guys.. Im new to sensation and to all battery calibration stuff..
Can you please explain to me how to properly calibrate battery ?
I have flashed custom rom (insert coin) and custom kernel (bricked) and now i need battery calibration..
I have 0% of battery on phone at the moment (phone is dead off), and what to do now?
Please tell me ...
thanks in advance

Charge too 100% once it's full turn off and charge till green light on.
Boot up power down and charge till green again. Boot into cwm delete battery stats on advanced and reboot. The then just use your phone for a few full cycles. Don't expect it to be better instantly could take days

Thanks for all answers..
I want to know this because i read somewhere here that when i calibrate my battery, it will all be normal..
And battery drain widget will show correct values..
p.s. And ive read somewhere to use Battery Monitor Widget, because only that battery current drain monitor shows correct values for Sensation..
Is that right ?
What program to use ?
Thanks again
Laynee1
Press the thanks button then lol
Bmw (battery monitor widget) isn't totally accurate either. To get most accurate reading tick mA corrections in bmw settings. I'm still pretty sure it's off tho, try some of the tips in the thread I posted, my battery is going OK

I'm not sure if you've heard of this method but I'm in the process of working on this one as I just flashed a new rom onto my phone.
Charge it up to 100%, use it until it drops to 15% and then fully charge it again. Once it's 100% again, use it and use it past 15% and then fully charge it again. Right now I'm at the finishing part of charging my phone cause I just used it past 15%. Will tell you if I do see any improvements or significant changes.
Probably going to try out whynot's post on battery calibration as well.
I have a known issue.. but with a twist
When.my battery is showing that there is like 90% left. After a while and I reboot, there is only 4% left. That's a.known issue. But here is twist. If I reboot again, its back to 80% orso. And when I do.another reboot there is 75% remaining..
Another reboot shows 74% and so on
I'm sorry if this a known issue.. i don't have much time to search things while I'm working 45h a week.
Anyone knows a.solution for this?
I wiped battery stats. Discharged a few times and the.HTC trick.. non of these work
additional info.

i dont think you can do anything about it. people say that turning off the device instead of restarting helps. i also have battery jumps but not nearly as extreme as yours. maybe ~5-10% jump. if its a drop jump then it will stay there until the real percentage reaches that said level, if its higher then it will drop quickly to the real percentage. from my experience that is, not a big deal

I know that 10-15% drops are normal.
but a drop of 70% is a bit odd.
Its not very serious but its quite anoying, i think its affecting my battery life
Try flashing the battery fix. It helped me out. I had same problem but not so radical.

Use your phone for a while without changing roms or clearing stats, don't charge until your battery is totally dead then don't take of charge until it is totally full, once full turn off and charge till light green, then back on and charge till green then repeat till you feel confident that your battery us full, then go through full discharge and repeat it will settle down but patience us required, remember stay with 1 rom radio and kernel without clearing anything for at least 4 days

Attached is the fix I used to remove the problem with battery percentage changeing after restart.
I do not remember where I found it, but it helped me.
Do i flash this in cwm?

Use battery calibrator fron Play. Run it 100% and press "calibrate" in the app. Can also wipe battery stats as well.

Who is it made by I see a lot of results when I search that.

Any of them will do. They all delete the same file to calibrate.
Once you calbrate, let the battery dtain all the way to power off for the first cycle.
Also, its not unusual for the battery percentage to jump alot on reboot. It will drop down ro the correct amount pretty quickly.

It could be the first signs of a dying battery as well.

You do not need to drain your battery completely down (until the phone powers off) to get an accurate calibration. Anything below about 15% will be good enough.
Although it is rare, letting a li-ion battery drain completely to zero can sometimes cause it to fail. There are sensors in these batteries that makes sure that they don't ever drain completely (even when we see zero, there is still some power left - similar to when your car gas light comes on but you still have a few gallons of 'reserve fuel) Sometimes these sensors can fail. If that happens, you have a bad battery.
Also, after calibrating give it a few full cycles to gain top accuracy. The jump you see after a reboot is normal, though it shouldn't be as severe as you mentioned.
Hi my friend,
Some say "battery calibration" app works some says it doesn't, don't really know but "wipe battery datas" in recovery does the same.
this happens when you flash different roms and some roms does not include battery calibration scrips. My rom does and i never have this issue, works very well.
this issue resolves by itself when wiping data and giving it 2 or 3 complete cycles.
Be patient then , all will comme back to normal.
I also saw a new app called "battery repair", i just bought it on market, but can not tell the results now because too early. i took it because it repair yes but most of all give you more time of use ...
cheers
Hi everyone,
I'm currently running CM10 on my AT&T One X. It runs great, but when I hit 6% battery, it suddenly jumps to 1% and shuts off a few seconds later. I've tried recalibrating by using the app available on Google Play, as well as letting it shut off and recharging all the way. Neither have seemed to fix the issue. My question is; are there any other ways to recalibrate the battery, or simply cause the battery indicator to display the proper percentage?
Thanks to anyone with advice!
Have you looked to see if anyone else on CM10 reporting anything similar?
In any case, the battery meter is not all that accurate in the best of conditions. I wouldn't trust the meter being below 10% to mean you have much significant battery. Really, by the time you hit 20% or so, you should be looking to charge.
Why you letting it get that low? Normally around 10% I plug in.

It's not habitual or anything. I just normally don't plug it in until I go to sleep, and sometimes it dies before that time comes.

This isn't based on facts but my 2 cents is that because the calibration of the battery isn't wiped, it's not accurate. There's no wipe battery stats in TwRP. If you ever notice the battery percentage in TWRP after flashing many ROM, it differs from the actual phone.
I wipe the batterystats.bin in data/system when full then reboot but who knows if that even works. I had my phone turn off @ 3% once so who knows but charge it as soon as it gets in the teens. Its bad for the battery if it keeps powering off when low.

You're right: that isn't based on facts.
Battery stats get reset every time you charge your phone. Manually wiping them does nothing.

This issue has been discussed in other threads. Seems to be specific To CM roms only.
Some report steep declines from 40% to zero in seconds. You seem lucky.

I wouldn't worry about it. Mine turns off anywhere from 5 to 15%. The battery percentage is just an estimate based on the software, it's not an actual indicator. As such there are tons of variables that can affect when the phone is actually out of battery.
TWRP also doesnt report battery correctly and it has nothing to do with the stats. It is taking more of an educated guess as to where it's at. Believe it has something to do with are phones.
thanks for the info.. i have experienced this issue also
Battery percentage is guessed at based on voltage. As the battery drains, voltage decreases slightly. Yes it is an educated guess. Every battery behaves slightly differently and has a unique profile or discharge curve. Some may be steeper than others at the end, but the device should learn this and adjust accordingly. An internal short in a composite battery like this would also exhibit this behavior, only exhibiting itself at certain voltage levels(dependant on location of physical short in battery) where voltage drops to 0 at that moment. I have seen this issue in defective packs where they work fine most of the time, but then zero all of a sudden. I'm not saying this is your problem, but the case design/new soft shell battery(no hard plastic shell to protect against the internal layers from being squeezed together) is wide open to physical damage from the phone being compressed.
Try a stock ROM and verify it works normally. If not, the battery is damaged.
My One X has never shut off before it reached 1%. I unlocked it 4 days after getting it in the beginning of June and have been running CR ever since and never had a steep battery decline.
