lol why bother when you have muc better roms here, for example Sense 2.1+2.0 mix from Baadnewz, or RCMix, and coolexe and damo are working on sense 3 ROMs, all of them already have gb 2.3.3 or 2.3.4...
It's my personal opinion, but even if they updated to 2.3.4 I would have a custom ROM on my phone... Why not be original?

makes me that much more appreciative of all the Devs work here on xda!
Epic fail
Oho, what a surprise
Oh well i'not jealous anyway, Oxygen is good enough, so close to stock that it's probably even better then the buggy port they would have fed us with. The only thing i'd want from google is launcher and a browser rewritten so that they can use our gpu...other than that any update sounds quite pointless to me.
If we're not getting any "revelations" about that coming to ics (and then i SEE it working with my own eyes, because they LIED about 3.0 getting it), then wp7 here i come babe...
For those asking : "Why so interested in the official update ?"
Our great Devs will take it, and then modd it, it'll be SO fast, as like everything is perfect, then a custom kernel, then a DAMN GREAT ROM....

Hi!
Who be the first on port ICS to Desire HD??????? I`m nervous!!!!
Regards,
Good luck devs. I hope that you will have easy job.
LorD ClockaN says we might need a 3.0 kernel.
This is a bad omen
Still... 3.0 is a natural evolution to 2.6.. not such a HUGE difference (as there was with 2.4 -> 2.6) IMHO
Is this useable for devs or do we have to wait for a port or whatever when it comes out on another device?

3.0 really is just a new tag, there were no major changes involved. at least not in the vanilla linux kernel. i don't know about android as i haven't done any kernel development for android in a while, but i'm sure the same applies..
FUD.
The emulator runs it on 2.6.29
Looks like source wont arrive until "a couple weeks after nexus ships" straight from Rubins lips. You guys remember the honeycomb fiasco. I for one am not gonna wait till december-never its time to start cookin

The one X ROM is at a very early stage. You'll have to wait a bit longer

i know its dumb, and its just a little update dosnt even add anything major.people are stupid.
New notification bar is great, but I will enjoy it on new phone around Christmas maybe if it won´t come to desire s somehow
We've waited long enough for ICS,
Got to experience JB on a new phone! Cuz, i guess even our devs would move on to something new by then... Leaving our beloved DS deserted!
if you want to use jelly bean, try cm10 or blindbean - both are early stage alpha versions
but most of the options and settings are working already
there are just a few things not working on these roms
they run very smooth
that covers up the not working parts a lot

at the moment there are good ICS roms and super smooth, but plenty of bugs, JB roms I think we've just to wait updates.

I can suggest you ice ds 4.1 to get ics on your device after rooting and recovery stuff. I'm testing it and seems really fast and stable. You will find an updated version here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1567715 but install 4.1 because 4.2 has some bugs. If you don't find a thing tell me. If I can I'll help you.

Old Good Roms

I'm trying to find some of the old good ROMs and all links seem to be down. Namely I was hoping to find TDJ's darkside sense, faux123's orangeglacier, and any of the gingerbread sense ROMs that were stable. I went back to Royal Ginger a while back and while I love it for the most part, but the camera feels like it uses about 20 pixels to create an image.
Does anyone have these stashed away that could maybe upload them to a file sharing site for me?
I would greatly appreciate it.
Orical might have them. PM him. Also, you might try Insert Coin. It's a pretty good GB Sense ROM. I never had a single issue with it.
Ordered my Nexus 4 on Nov. 13th. Still waiting.

The OEM device support for this phone makes me furious. It could still be considered a flagship device because of its camera alone, and HTC basically now pretends that the phone doesn't exist. I'm kind of tired of not just the Android experience, in a lot of ways I'm tired of the smartphone experience all together. I charged up my old Nokia to use as an MP3 player when I go running and marveled at how it stayed charged for 5 days before it gave me a low batt warning.
I dunno. I have the MT, a tablet, 4 laptops (yeah really), a home server, a media center, and a play computer with a 30" screen. Just starting to question how "connected" I really need to be vs. having a phone that works as a phone really well.
