After an update last night the already bad Modern Combat controls went even ****tier, Instead of the natural analog-like aiming, the right touch pad is divided into 4 sections (up,down.left, right) so when i touch a place near middle it will go in a random direction based on my sensitivity, making it absolutely impossible to aim. What's worse,is that when I enter options>controls the game crashes
I'm running 1.0.4,does anyone have an earlier apk?
Oh boy... I gotta see this.
(I have 3.3.9 - widely regarded as the best version before they updated to 1.0.0)
yeah,3.3.9 but my controls suck
Edit: Ok so I figured out that 3.3.9(1.0.4) has horrible controls, but I remembered i had a backup in titanium and now I'm on 3.3.9(339) and the controls are normal

Hey fellas,
I'm a huge fan of the old school LucasArts games like DoTT, Full Throttle, Indiana Jones and games like the Leisure Suit Larry series. I was extremely excited when I read about SCUMMVM for Android. That excitement died when I then read that it currently work only on 1.5/1.6.
Anyone know if any progress has been made with the 2.1/2.2 versions? Can I help in any way?
Thanks! Let's get this ball rolling.
Turns out there IS progress!
http://anddev.at.ua/news/2010-6-2-1-0-1
Testing it out now.
Very interested in this - never really got it set up when I had a G1.
Thanks for reminding me My biggest loss moving to android was no scummvm..
Imagine running it on the nexus, using the trackball for mouse movement
There was some movement around 2.1 with a buggered beta of some sort as far as i remember, but we all need some froyo support now!
Is there still only one dude working on the port?

@rickytenzer: let us know how it works out
****Edit2
I tried the tremor version for no camera (since n1 doesn't have a dedicated cam button)
It takes 25mb worth of space..wow, apk boots fine on froyo, trackball support for mouse with left click. Unfortunately I'm at work and my roms are at home, so i haven't tried a game yet.. very exiting, anybody else tried yet?
Jesus ****ing christ, it's amazing! I was able to boot up DoTT with ease. Didn't get a chance to play with it yet (@ work ) but it seemed to be working well. The back button even acted as escape and skipped the movies! Awesome.
The touchscreen/trackball combo is great because sometimes the trackball moves too slowly so you can generally locate yourself with the touchscreen and then hone in with the ball.
I'll give more updates later!

I tried vorbis no camera. Any reason why you went with tremor?
Most ROMs you can get online legally and for free as they're abandonware. I just downloaded DoTT with no problems! And they're only around 10MB
Omgomgomg, didn't have patience too wait, so i downloaded freeware from scummvm site.. went for bass floppy version and it is beautiful
Sound, menu, everything
Will try my dott CD version and samnmax later..
Just went for tremor version because the dev couldn't get it to work on his Samsung, so i assumed tremor might be better/ tougher on the hardware and n1 has nice hardware
Dunno the difference, has to look into it. Does savegames work? Haven't had time to try (@work)
-e
Haven't tried yet. App settings don't save yet. I realized that the DoTT available online is sans speech so I'm going to get the full versions later, through obviously completely legal means of course
So excited! Have a 5 hour train ride coming in a couple of weeks. This will definite keep me occupied!
As promised, I got my hands on a buttload of games
Day of the Tentacle
Full Throttle
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
The Secret of Monkey Island
Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge
The Curse of Monkey Island eek: I can't believe this is a ScummVM game!)
Sam & Max Hit the Road
Simon the Sorcerer
Simon the Sorcerer 2
And as expected, they ALL run flawlessly! I'm so psyched. HOURS of gameplay. And I have never played the first Indy and I'm not sure about the second Simon.
WOO!
The emulator runs fine on my Nexus One, but when I try to load a game, its can't find the zip in the directory.

Because it's not looking for a zip
Extract the zips to a directory, then choose that directory when adding a game.
Sooo, is this easy to set up? Might just have to put it on my phone tonight.
Ricky - please would you share the place you got your games from?

Check your PMs. As for installation, it's a joke! Just download the apk, get the files on your SD card and you'll figure it out from there.
I think it's best to put them all in a folder on your SD card root called "ScummVM". I don't recall settings being saved until I had everything in that folder.
Thanks again, that's my evening sorted!
Thanks guys, I figured I had to unzip them. Works great!
Version 1.00 (beta) is on the Market: https://market.android.com/details?id=magory.marbleshd - still a beta because there is no sound and requires some more testing on different devices.
What it is?
Marble Lines HD (I changed the title a litte) is a simple game where you have to move color balls to make a row of 5 or more - I didn't find anything similar on the market and it's a game I enjoy playing, so I'm working for a version for Android.
What is the status
Marbles HD is close to completion - there is no sound yet, and four game types could be a little unbalanced (too easy or too hard).
Features
- four game types (small, crazy, easy and classic)
- highscore (only local right now, I'll maybe add OpenFeint or sth similar later),
- dynamite, question marks (replace any color) and stones (cannot be removed),
The game should work on everything with Android 2.0+.
wrong section...
Why would 'apps and games' be the wrong section?
Anyway, d/l and installed. It gave me an error when I first loaded it, but I just hit wait and it loaded up. Since then it loads without any problems. I have never played a game of this type before, but it is quite fun. I didn't find any problem with the game play. I did notice that at times the balls were a little hard to choose. I like the planned features that you listed. All in all, I like what you have going here. Keep up the good work. I am running a HTC Vision with the latest Cyanogen nightly.

Interesting. It looks like the first start was too slow, I'll look into that.

Thanks. I'll check that.
black screen and then Crash on open SGS I9000 CM7.1..
also cause my phone to vibrate like crazy on black screen.
Wow, someone moved this thread to Android Apps and Games. It should be in Transformer Apps section. It's not ready for phones yet, I didn't even test it on mine phone. Thanks for the info though. I'll look into it, I hope I can repeat it on my phone.
EDIT: After some thinking I maybe posted it completely in the wrong session. I had to be a little absent-minded. Still, no harm done. I tested it on my phone and it works without problems. It will be really hard to find the bug that caused a crash on your system. I'll probably just post beta version to the Market soon - then I will have crash reports.
I posted a new version in the first post. It's much closer to completion and was tested on my phone (previously the problem was probably with too large textures - because of HD graphics for tablets).
Cool
That is nice
Thanks! I posted the first version on the Market - https://market.android.com/details?id=magory.marbleshd - it's still beta because there is no sound and requires some more testing on different devices. (if you installed for apk, it's best if you uninstall it first, then install from the market)

that's because the game is basically running on a Emulator, the game itself is the same as the original one on the PC
same with the R-Type game
might as well run mame, or any other emu and then run the original R Type ROM
I already figured out that pc mods will work in android version of game because the folder structure is the same.
I have an LG Optimus One and I really wanna play this on my phone, but it lags and it is barely playable.
I have 2 ideas to make it playable.
1. Reduce texture size. Like you modedd the exhaust stuff,we can retexture everything in-game for armv6 phones.
I would do it by myself, but I need some help,as I never done this thing before.
2. Somehow if I could reduce the view distance to a smaller area,I could drastically reduce lag.
Any1 help?
You can try modifying timecyc.dat, I think that lets you modify the draw distance.
Definitely buying this game now lol, modding makes the game last longer lol.
Timecyc.dat is only for the time cycle. It adjusts the sun according to the time.
I haven't found draw distance option to set yet.
Right now I'm trying to resize all 64x64 textures to 32x32
Hopefully it won't lag the game so much.
I will reply here if it works
IMG TOOL
use img tool to use mods. Where i can get the cache? Someone please pm me with the cache. please<3
wow!!!its great...going
pm me with the modified cache

I have an HTC Evo mine lags as well. I hope you can figure something out, that'll be cool! good luck
Some problems with mods
I have a LG Optimus Speed (O2X) and the game works great. I tried to change some cars but IMG Tool seems to have some problems with windows 7 and i can not get the cars into the img. But i found an interesting weaponpackage (Uzi, Beretta 92, Remington Shotgun and more) mod that works quite well, but the weapons are all white on the display. It would be very nice, if someone could help me.
Indeed, the timecyc is and for draw distance except for the lighting. I tried several with limited distance. I had great amount of fps (over 30-40) but below the middle of the screen if you have no visible graphics is a bit bugged.
??
works the modes ????
So the pc games is ported as it is on the Android OS! Great! :-O
Hi,
since I'm an old GTA Modder, too first thing I've tried was of course modding the game. I was very happy to see that the file structure is the same as on PC.
BUT - Maybe I'm stupid, but how the hell did you do that? I used the IMG tool 2.0 to replace a car (sentinel), but after copying the img files, handling.cfg, carcols.dat and default.ide (all modded) back to my phone GTA did not start anymore. The game even did not start after using my original files I've backed up before...
What is wrong here?
Can you give us a short explanation how you did that? Used tools? which files? etc...
Thanks and cheers
Zap
GTA3 will turn now to GTA Vice City .
Pretty possible thing if modding works.
BTW. OMG cache for sd is 350MB, really huge for mobile device. I downloaded recently 200MB PC RIP with patch and translation integrated, just without radio
i tried to install Real GTA3 Final mod (search it on google because i can't post links yet -_-) to the mobile version of GTA III and it works ! . just tell the wizzard to install te mod in x:\Android\data\com.rockstar.gta3\files\GTA3 (sd-card) and it will work
BUT ONE THING I NOTICED FOR NOW: THE RIMS FROM CARS DOESNT SEEM TO WORK !!! they are either invissible or too big xD
With regards to draw distance is this of any help?

Have any users of this ROM tried the Bard's Tale? On the Main menu screen (which looks like an opened book) I get graphic glitches and the display doesn't change when I click on any options. I hear the game respond to my click and seems like it is running in the back ground, but the display remains on this opened book with the bottom of it stuttering/flashing.
Any ideas?
I'm also interested in the results of anyone playing it on the Stock ROM because my wife's tablet is still stock, and that is an option for me.
Update: Tried game again last night and it seems to be working fine now.
Hi, I'm new to XDA, and french, so excuse me for my bad english...
Had the same problem on stock rom (ICS 4.0.3) on my transformer. It has been solved with a cold boot, It seems to be a known problem for asus, who is working on it...
source : can't post links yet, but visit the android support page on the inXile entertainment website...
After playing 7 hours, Bard's Tale refused to launch, I tried to reinstall the apk and redownload the entire 3,5 Go HD data after a TB backup, and this was not the solution.. the only thing I got was losing my savedgames that Titanium didn't backup... (savedgames are not saved with the data in TB, they are placed in the Android/Data/com.inXile.BardTale/files/SavedGames folder.)
Now, the game works perfectly, unfortunately, I'm too lazy to play again the 7 hours I have already done... may be I would keep playing if someone could share his savedgames. Before losing my savedgames folder, I just had finished the chapter V, forest tower. This game is awesome :good:
Hope this will help...
Not sure what the deal is, but the two Square Enix games I have tried (and successfully played on HTC One S with CM11) do not work on my OPO with CM11 M11 Snapshot or CM11s 38R.
Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy 2 both have different issues. Havent tried any others yet.
FF1 just freezes, doesnt force close or do anything but just sit at a white screen, while loading into the world map after a battle. Song continues though.
FF2 force closes and freezes at random times during gameplay. (Refunded the game just to try and see if it was isolated to just FF1)
I did not have Franco kernel on the One S, could that be the issue?
Shadowrun runs find, Strikers 1941, House of the Dead Overkill, all Angry Birds games including the racing seem to have no issues.
Although I am completely new to the OPO (still waiting for my shipment actually) I HAVE noticed that in the past, with almost all android devices I've owned (and there's been A LOT), whenever I flash a cyanogen based rom, all square enix games don't work. I've contacted square enix support about the problem and they said it may have something to do with the nav bar tweaks. I know it's not much help but I can just say that I feel ya. It sucks.
Same here with FFIII. It just locks the game. Plays fine on my Sony Tablet S, but not on my OPO with CM11s.
