I've been having network issues for the past 4 days (ever since I updated to 2.3.6) and have been scouring XDA and the internet trying to fix it...
Tried flashing stock roms, cyanogen roms, backtracking to 2.3.3, updating roms, flashing different radios, stock radios, nothings working.
I'm on the FIDO network with an unlocked nexus s
I even bought a new sim card today to see if it could fix it, and it was only "fixed" for a bit, because the reception was **** (0-1 bars) and i was on EDGE all the time.
I reflashed some radios and now I don't get network at all.
If anyone has any idea of how I could fix this, it'd be nice. As of right now I still can't seem to flash this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1056062 so I assume something about my phone still isn't stock...
2.3.6 is ruining my life. =[

There is advice on restoring your data connection in the radio thread in the dev section.
Sent from the future to put right what once went wrong.
I was assuming you meant this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116884
I had already been on there and I've tried all the radios on the first few pages multiple times and none of them were working for me.
But since you posted your reply, I decided to try scouring the entire thread and I happened on a few random radios that other users posted.
I found one that actually worked!! and I got my signal back. THANKS.
Here is the one I used if anyone else is having the same problem as me.

Hi all. First post so please be gentle. I have bought myself an Optus GT-I9000 and am using it on the Telstra network. I am currently working on an island that only has WCDMA 850mhz signal. I believe i had no issue back in perth till i upgraded to Froyo. I can speculate but I don't want to waste your time. In my efforts to fix this as I need my phone to tether and to also call home I have upgraded from stock Froyo to Darky's v8.1 in the hope it would somehow restore signal. Unfortunately... with no luck. I have been reading up on what I need in the way of a modem file/firmware/whatever. I would really appreciate some help as I am at a loss and the comms guy is taking the piss for spending so much time researching why this has happened. Thanks in advance.
and i forgot the most important details lol...

I'm not sure if I can help but after I flashed my i9000 to Darky's ROM, I lost my 3G. I managed to locate the original modem driver and reflashed the modem driver only. It worked for me. Good luck.
Hi all,
I got a Nexus S a few days ago. It was an original rogers phone that was working on ATT in the US for the last month.
The phone is rooted. But it is not working properly on Rogers (Apparently it worked fine on ATT).
Does anyone have a rooted rogers Nexus S that is working properly on 3G?
If so, what are you running for ROM, Radio, CWM, etc?
Thanks in advance,
I have been pulling my hair trying to get this fixed.

Rogers Wireless Nexus S
Rom: SuperAOSP 8.0 Android 2.3.4
Build #: GRJ22
Baseband: NO DGSXXKD1
Kernel: Netarchy Nexus S 1.3.0.12 CFS 2.3.4
Recovery: Clockwork Mod v 3.0.2.4
Runs perfect on Rogers here in Vancouver. Check your other thread to see if the radio i posted fixes your 3G problem. It happened to me too when i originally flashed SuperAOSP, but finding the right radio will definitely fix it.
I have an I9020a running on Rogers. I've run stock, cyanogenmod, and a couple other custom ROMs without any loss of 3G. I am currently using CM Nightly 84.
I've also experimented with the various NS radios available and haven't experienced any loss of 3G connectivity. I am currently using the 2.3.4 radio.
Have you checked your APN settings to make sure that you have the Roger's access points inputted?
Thanks for your responses, Guys.

Hey everyone, ive searched and searched, but havent found a solution yet !!
Im running: build5-ASOP
Kernel: 3.0.34-EGB_P999-5
build #: Imm76D
My wifi calling icon is there as its supposed to be, and when I click to enable all it does it say enabling, but never initates?
all my other tmobile phones work great on wifi calling, but I just bought this one already rooted, thought it may have been a programmers
error, so I re rooted the same build back onto the phone, still doing the same thing, any help would be greatly appreciated....

Have you looked at the date and time? cause sometimes that could change things
I had the same issue with my phone but I just reset it and it was ok.

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, or if it's been resolved, but I have tried all the radios that are supposed to work with WIND Mobile, only to have completely garbled signal, I can hear others perfectly but they hear a robot/garbled noise. Here are my exact phone specs
Non rooted as of right now, no custom recovery right now either.
Rogers phone, factory unlocked.

How's your signal? Does the same thing happen with different phones? Trying to eliminate a few trees before you go digging around an entire forest.

Signal is always 3-5 Bars and connecting to 3G, and I haven't tried a different phone because I only have my SII and that's the phone I want on Wind, tons of people on here have reported their SII running flawlessly on the wind network, I just need someone to show me the best radio to use.
try the ics stock and see if its better, howto in my sig

This. There are a handful of Rogers radios out there, all linked from the superb stickies in vincom's signature.

I need this radio to pick up WIND Mobile though.
Seems like a hardware issue , if you say many with SR on wind around you report good connectivity (if you're completely stock , to eleminate custom roms problems) , other radios will not be magical solution ...

flash each radio yourself and test it out. you could test all the radios in about 30-45 min, rather than waiting for someone to tell you that a radio works good for them.
head to the sticky that vincom suggested and give each a radio a shot.

The modem keeps disappearing and I have to reflash it to get a signal again.
The phone will just lose the signal and rebooting etc, does not help it get back. You have to reflash the modem file again. This is very strange. I have never read any posts about this issue either.
carrier- Wind Mobile Canada - AWS network like T-Mobile.
It's Slim Rom 4.1.2 on a Skyrocket.
Modem is Blaze 4G LB7 (T-Mobile)

Everything works great but this issue turned up about 2 days after flashing. I wiped and formatted everything before I flashed the ROM.
Baseband version on an SGH-T959, Samsung Vibrant
Greetings XDA Community!
Thank you for providing such an outstanding service. I have been lurking for quite awhile now and have been successful in rooting and customizing several phones using the information found here. I could not have done so without you... so thank you again!
Onto my question, and forgive me if my google-fu isn't up to snuff and I missed the answer in another thread...
I have an older Samsung Vibrant (SGH-959) Android Phone with the T959UVKA7 baseband version.
I have found a later baseband available for install: as seen on TMO's page... (as a new user, I cannot post URL. Sorry)
I performed the update on the Vibrant via the “Kies Mini” application and successfully booted into the updated OS, with baseband T959UVKB5.
However, whenever I install the ClockWorkMod Recovery, and flash CyanogenMod OS (I've tried all the versions (7.2, 10.0, 10.1, 10.1.2, 10.1.3RC) the baseband gets reverted back to the A7 over the B5. So... I re-installed (Oden'ed) back to factory OS, and Kies back to B5 to try again... but no deal, still reverts after flash.
My question is do I care? I am of the understanding that my crappy GPS performance, and related buggy behavior has been somewhat addressed by the later baseband... If I do care, how do I keep the phone at the later baseband when I flash ClockWorkMod or CyanogenMod?
I respectfully await some clarity on the issue. Thank you in advance! Cheers!
