Do I have to install some software to make this possible?

If you are looking to install homebrew you need to unlock you device. I would post links to threads but I haven't figured that out, check under development and hacking. You've got a lot of reading to do. If you are looking to install apps from other os's that have not been ported to wp7 you are sol.

well i have purchased an HTC P3400i like 1 year back
now after seeing pawan's rom i was just very much delighted and wanted to get it on my mobile
pawan's ROM for HTC P3400i gene -

so as i've said that i amvery much new and noob to this
so i just dont know what all things are required or what and what all possible damage/harm it would make to my mobile

You will find a bunch of different roms for the Gene. Also, if you haven't done so yet, look at the stickies to learn how to unlock your device. You have to do it right, else you will brick the device. Do not flash a rom until you have unlocked it!!!!

After testing many CUSTUM ROM for my HTC HD7 I prefer finally create my own ROM WP7 from the original with some minor modifications for a stable and bug free. I'm doing well in IT but I'm newbie regarding the windows phone. So I am looking for a tutorial DESCRIBING step how to create my own ROM and incorporate my elements.
So far my searches have failed, is it that someone could show me the way please?

I am having much difficulty rooting my phone. My phone is a Docomo NEC Medias N-06C running Android 2.3.6.
So far I have tried Z4Root, Universal Androot and Gingerbreak. No luck.
I have no computer skills, so trying to use SupeOneClick or other computer programs have proven impossible for me. I have the drivers for the phone, but no idea how to install them in WIndows.
Can anyone recommend a good tool to use to download onto the phone and root from there?
Wow, a week and not a single reply. Either no one knows, or no one cares. Both makes this forum a huge disappointment. I thought this was the place to go for smart advice. I was wrong.

No one here has yet created this for: your device, sadly when it comes to rooting it depends on if a developer owns the device your attempting to mod. In this case No there's no one here at Xda. Be sure to use Google thoroughly and search everything available for device you want to root. If there is nothing out there meaning no dev has ever developed anything for your specific device your next option is this " Search for a device that is similar in specs such as cpu/gpu, processor speeds, firmware versions. Now if you find devices that are similar.
"For example my device Sgh-T679 Samsung Galaxy Exhibit ⁴g has a similar device the Sgh-T679M Samsung GalaxyW they are very similar meaning devs used builds from the Sgh-T679M and ported them to the Sgh-T679 For Example: the sgh-T679 never had anything higher than Android 2.3.6 released in it. Using Sgh-T679M builds we've successfully ported over Android 4.0.4-4.1.*"
All the How To Guides are located on the web(actually if search here at Xda everything you'll need can be found here) If there are no mirror devices for the one you are using then I'm sorry if your not a developer then you may be S.O.L. Hope this has helped you and goodluck, I'm sure some where out there on the web there's someone out there who's already worked towards rooting your device. Find what you need look up the How To's you'll need to achieve what your looking for and read up If your computer literate then you may possibly be able to do it on your own. Also remember there are emulators and Android Sdk that you can use on your PC as a developing tool so you can test out the rom on your PC first. It basically I'd a program that runs your Android device in your computer so you call mod, test see what works and what doesn't work start over mod, reapply and have no risk of bricking your device in the mean time. I have already sent an email to the site email form, so please don't overload them with requests, just wondering if we could gather interest and support for this device, the stock ROM is already laggy and hard to root or even using sometimes with the way they have this ROM set up. Please help, I am in stock ROM H.E.Double hockey sticks.

Hi, sorry to say but it appears to be a bit of a white box brand so it's unlikely to gain support due to it being unknown and present in many variants of the device.
You would be better to look around for ROMs that support specific components in the device in order to have better luck as their will be similar devices using the same components with one of them probably having a ported ROM such as CM

Lot of applications that require root access work fine. Now, how do I do a Nandroid backup? Also, anybody know tried a custom ROM on this device? Hesitant to "just try it" until I have a full Nandroid backup.
I have one of these. Got it for $59.95 on sale via Staples website. A curious thing is that none of the preloaded apps show under My apps and the Store won't automatically update any of them. I had to look them up on the Store and install the latest versions.

1. I'm a complete beginner at rooting (have never rooted any device before but read a few threads) and wanted to ask you guys on how to purge google completly after rooting.
2. Could you please also tell me, since we are flashing the stock firmware, which software is included there? Is everything the same after rooting with the difference of beeing admin and having more oportunities to work on the device?
