Tmobile update?

hello all, nice to be here.
Tmobile sent out a software update to my phone this morning, did any one else get one?
I was about to start modding stuff like taking off touchwiz. Would a software update make doing this harder?
It reads,
'congratulations!
T mobile has sent you a new software update for your device.
To proceed with installation select next.'
It's possible that this update might keep me from modding certain things right?
Any details known about the update?

Is it just KD1? I know that rolled out from tmobile recently.

It's kd1 update. We have had a deodexed and rooted version available for Odin flashing here for a while. I recommend using it instead of the tmo version. Look up Whitehawkx kd1 thread here on the forum and follow the directions in the op if you want to try it out.

Since the galaxy s in the UK got the gingerbread update can we use that as a 2.3 base to build roms on?

So we cant even use it as a base? We are porting vibrant roms now. I'd assume the same process would need to be done and the button mappings changed right?

I doubt it, not yet anyway... as you can tell they're having a bit of trouble porting froyo roms

Whats the latest stock android OTA version?

For the UK area. I think its 2.3.5? Thanks.

Soon? To the GSM version?
Seems like weird timing since ICS is supposedly around the corner. Why would 2.3.7 arrive in two weeks only to have ICS weeks after?
Either way, I want a Prime...

Still hasn't been 100% confirmed it's ICS yet. Nobody has finished (that has posted).
And the fact T-Mobile is dropping theirs honestly would have zero effect on ours. It's all up to AT&T and their bloatware adding department. Besides, any drop at this point is very unlikely to be any different than LE2, so it's really not that exciting until opensource gets updated. At that time it will become "RELEASE THE KRAKEN!" (or at least the kernels! lol)

Why have such a hard on for stock ICS? Whose gonna stay stock anyways?

Our ics roms are built from leaks or ports which is why we have all of the bugs we do. UCLE2 is more stable than the first two, but we won't have perfectly stable roms until our mods have an official base to build from...

With no stock ICS there is no custom ICS ROMS. (Not including AOSP bases)

Looks like it isn't even ICS, they dropped another GB build on them.

I have my Skyrocket flashed with ICS and Kies hasn't received an update yet and still says that the skyrocket does not support upgrading through kies, is this because of the flashed OS or because not everyone has the update yet?

You need to be fully stock for it to update

How do I go back to being stocked again? sorry first time I flashed my phone was last week cause I was tired of waiting to get ICS, oh the Irony lol

Is it worth going to the official release? I have the I727UCLF5 version, does the official/I727UCLF6 make that big of a difference?

Probably not. You can try it out though if you want.

I just redid my phone (redownloaded all my apps, settings, redid home screens etc) not sure if I wanna jump into all that again lol

Just updated via kies, its 4.0.4 - still same old touchwiz fail - its just like the leak.

[Question] Official ICS or JB for G2x

Hi guys im just wondering if there's already a new rom for lg g2x since the official ICS update has been announce lately for the 2x , i both a new phone but i still love my G2x because i know it will be more powerful when i updated it to ICS , im still running on stable build of cyanogenmod 2.3.7 , although i used tonyp's paranoid before and owain's domination rom but still it can't play HD flix , any news or info about the new rom for G2x will be awesome

Full Hardware Accelleration (No Radio/Cell) = Yes
Emulated Hardware Accelleration with Working Radio = Yes
Fully Working ICS for G2X = No, and as great as the people are that are working on it are, I believe their efforts are for naught.
