How To: Check if your phone is S-OFF or S-ON and your HBOOT version
1. Disable Fast Boot. (Setting > Power > uncheck Fast Boot)
2. Turn off your phone.
3. Turn on your phone by pressing the power button and volume down button together.
4. You will see a white screen with "S-OFF" or "S-ON" and your hboot version on top of the screen.
OK - how do I get out of it to turn the phone?
EDIT - fooled by the fact that reboot doesn't appear in that menu.
To get out of this screen:
1. hit the Power button
2. then the VOLUME DOWN to select REBOOT
3. then hit the POWER button
choose reboot

Hi,
I installed Android (Donut) on NAND on my HTC Polaris.
Now I would like to flash a NBH with a more recent version.
But I can't access to bootloader (screen with different colors) reseting the Polaris with holding the "camera" button. I can only access the install menu of Android (holding "power button")
How can I retrieve the screen with different colors ? Or can I flash a new NBH with an other solution ?
Thank you for your help.

Hi
Please do a search in the future for your question. Your answer is over here:
For your convenience i will paste it over here:

•Press reset while you hold the camera button. Release it (the reset button).
•Hold the camera button until de colored bars screen appears.
•If it doesn't work, remove the battery, wait for some seconds, put it back and try again.
•When the colored screen (Hard SPL) is shown, you are ready to flash it using the flashing application (CustomRUU.exe, for example).
1. Power off your device
2. Press and hold camera button
3. Press power button
4. Use CustomRUU.exe for flash device
Go Go Go!!!
Bootloader
1. Remove battery
2. Replace battery
3. Press and hold camera button
4. Press power button
Procedure works just in time.

as instructed. want to get my Key. It asked for HBOOT version.
How do I find out?
Thanks!
You need to go in to your bootloader screen.
1. Shutdown phone (first disable fastboot from settings power menu)
2. Press Power and volume down until you see your screen powers on.
3. It will search for default (certified update package just wait until it stop)
4. On top of the screen you will see a line with Hboot 1.x.x.x.x this is your Hboot (bootloader) verison. (like Bios version on PC)
Be carefull on S-Off and rooting, read the guides in detail
Cheers
Remove your battery, reinsert battery. Hold down vol - button, push power button,, keep pressing vol - and let go of power button, h boot screen should show up in a few seconds.

1 .backup all with titanium back up.
2. Then turn off your device, after it is turned off you have to remove the battery and put it back again
3. press both volume buttons and the turn up button simultaneously (if that dont work try with only one volume button)
4. then it will boot up to recovery mode
5. the touch screen doesn't work so you have to move with volume buttons, and select with the power button
6. then you will see ''wipe data/factory reset, scroll to that
7. select it by pressing the power button
8. scroll down to where it says ''yes delete all user data'' and press the power button
9. then wait til it reebots (if it don't do that manually by pressing reebot now
10. and voila the device is good as new (i think so)
press thx button if it helped

I have been using the phone for a while and then the device rebooted suddenly..Next time it didnt boot and i cant even wipe or factory reset the phone..Anyone please help me?:crying:
Enter the recovery mode: Press and hold power and volume - buttons until the bootloader appears on screen, after that scroll with the volume buttons throught the options until you select "recovery" and now press the power button..
Wait ubtil an android logo appear onscreen and now press and hold the poser button, then press and hold the volume + and let go both at the same time, now you can wipe your device.
Did you get it wet or drop it?
I'm kinda stuck here, praticing how to go right to TWRP from Download Mode. I did the Volume Down + Power to Reboot, then Volume Up + Power Straight away when the screen turns off.
The trouble is, there is a root warning that requires me to release all buttons and press Power to continue, which messes up going to Recovery. I'm on S9080, any tips would be apperciated, trying to upgrade to Android 13
In order to go to TWRP:
a) Power off you phone, i.e. if you are in Download Mode you go for "reboot" and then you power down your phone manually
b) if you want to somehow go "straigt" from Download Mode to TWRP (e.g. because you are stuck in a boot loop, like me) you can try the following:
1) You are in Downlod mode
2) You attach (or keep attached) the USB cable!
3) You tell Download mode to reboot
4) You wait for the moment when you phone has powered down during the reboot cycle (the phone should vibrate for a sec)
5) Then you press the home + volume up button.
Note: It is important that during step 5 the USB cable is connected, because starting TWRP needs *three* things: USB attached + Home button + Volume up
Maybe this works.
