While I was still using HD2, in order to have fully working NAND rom with A2SD, i had to partition my 16gb SD card to 1 gb ext4 and 14.9 gb other.
Now when i got Sensation, i dont need that 1gb ext4 partition, so im asking you, is there any way i could revert it, and what program to use to do it, and how?
Thanks in advance you good people!

Hey guys,
Im not sure if this has been asked as I've looked as many places as I can. This is the first android phone that i had that uses only internal memory so im not sure how to check the partitions i have made using CWM recovery.
usually i would use adb shell and check my mmcblk0 but that obviously doesnt work.
When i used the partition SD option in CWM i did:
advanced -> partition SD card -> 1024 for the ext -> 32 for the swap
my question is, is the internal memory now partitioned to ext4? as i now have an internal storage or 0.92gb
also if i wanted to increase the partition can i just simply go back and do the process over again? except chose 2048 and etc?
you cant repartition it. this isnt the G1 where you need a
ext2/3/4 partition
swap
hd space
the NS is:
0.98 GB Internal App Space
13.31 GB of USB Storage
1.71 GB reserved for Android OS
other phones have:
internal + sd card space. If this is the case, it follows the same format as the NS BUT the sd card is expanded space for USB storage.
thanks for the reply zephik, so CWM's partition tool shouldnt be used? or it just doesnt do anything for us.
because i now have:
total storage:13.31 GB
internal storage:0.93 GB <-- instead of 0.98
im currently downloading gparted to see if i can check what CWM has done. and perhaps getting rid of the 32mb swap if its not needed

I would just straight up stay away from it. I remember on the Vibrant, "partition sd card" would semi-brick your phone because it would attempt to repartition the internal sdcard (which is what we have) and to fix it would require using Odin.
You also probably have 9020A, I have 9020T so it could be partially different. Swap is not needed.. at least not on 2nd-gen Android phones and above.

OK cool, its good that i didnt get a semi brick from this then. From what i can tell CWM didnt do anything if the total storage is still 13.31 and didnt modify anything on the internal storage as it is still 0.98 ( used up 57mb of it thats why it shows 0.93) still a bit interested as to if the swap got created or not
Hello everyone, I just dowloaded and installed the rom: "Energy™ -.¸¸.·´¯ Sense 3.5 SensationXL". for my HTC HD2 with magldr and I realized that, it had say me, that it only have 30 MB of internal storage . I created a ext 3 partition with 4gb with the clockworkmod recovery for hd2, and adroid say me that. The rom is very good it is the best that I tested, and I like so much, but i can't install my applications. I put the link of the rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=733649
PD: Sorry for my very bad english, if you don't understand everything I wil try to explain it better .
Nobody can answer my question? Please it is important
First, how much is your ext3 partition. It is always better to habe 1GB ext3 ( ext4 is better ).
I have 4gb ext 3 and the android say me that my internal storadge is 900 mb. I check with my computer the partition and it is empty.
ext3 or ext4

Hi, I am new to this ROM to this whole tihng actually..actually was very pleased with opossum 2.3.7 linking my apps w/Link2SD but after some time somehow i found myself searching for new horizons (maybe its becoz i bought a 32 GB Class10 Rocker Baby SD  )
Anyway.. My question is; by the time this ROM is first released, the topic only refers and suggests to use EXT2 or EXT3 partition for EU users..(by the way I cannot perform a TMOUS install (with the help/suggestion of nqkoidrug) by selecting 380-383-385-395-400 MB s and 5 MB Cache to do what ph03n!x and kokotas did for DataOnEXT with DalvikOnNAND)
So that now i have a class10 SD card, is it possible to prefer EXT4 partition instead of EXT2/3 ??
Thnx,
Is there a rom or bootimg or HOPEFULLY script/app that enables actual a2sd on G2X like froyo used to. The native a2sd in GB is ok but I really want to use my EXT partition again. I know draktremors script works on some devices but i cant seem to get it to work on our G2X... Maybe im missing something?
Theres an app called Link2sd http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=919326 that supposedly works with any CM7 rom but i cant get it to work on G2X.
Plus im on weapon rom and its based on OTA GB.
Any help would be appreciated.
IVE SEARCHED!! lol
You probably just need to update the device id the ext partition lives on.
Link2sd works fine on my g2x, I got a 14gb ext3 partition on my 32gb lexar thats almost full with apps.
Sent from my SCH-R720 using xda premium
ok ill keep trying link2sd. what should my ext partition be named? In the old days on my G1 it was mmcblk2 right?
all link2sd did was move all my apps with the naitive apps2sd. EXT3 partition on my external sd is still empty...
normal mount position for my apps is data/app of course. link to sd moves them to mnt/asec not ext3 partition. maybe i need to switch my sd cards around?.. have external as primary use and have the phone move the internal storage to mnt/emmc. then it might work?

how would i do that? if you dont mind explaining.
i think my 3dr partition swap was throwing it of. I created 2 FAT32 partitions instead because its supposedly universal. all apps linked so i guess its working. i lost all my gapps though even though theyre still in system/app .... fml lol
Hello.
Please help me on partitioning my sdcard. I noticed after installing apps, [got so many apps, it's 16gb yeah] my phone got slow when opening some games and applications.
I tried partitioning using 4ext touch, and my storage became small from 16gb to 5+gb.
How can i partition my microsd without losing a big space?
I still need a big space though.
Thank you!
Okey this is what i did, please someone reply if i did something wrong.
1st sd-ext partition -> skip
swap parition -> 256
Is this ok?

Hi All
I'm looking to install this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2234221 on to my galaxy ace and have a question about formatting the SD card for it.
It talks about ext-4 partition and I was wondering what size to format the partition if using an 8gb card?
I was thinking - 1gb for the ext-4 and the rest for fat32?
halp please
What class is your sdcard? Are you planning to use int2sd?

You must used the Fire Kernel because you don't have a 4Ext partition
and with Swap kernel and a Sdcard Class 6, you need a 4Ext partition.
So finally, it will depend of the choice of your kernel, and the better choice if you use the Swap kernel, it's to format all in 4Ext
And if you want an another answer, go to post here, you can do without problem

I am going to get a class 10 8gb card this weekend. the swap kernel is what I was going to use.
Why should I format the whole card in 4ext? If I do that, I won't be able to add files from my windows 7 PC will I??? I just don't know much about ext4. I do store some music and stuff on it.
Thanks so much for your help

Which recovery do you use ?
I wrote a mistake about to format whole sdard to 4Ext
1 - You must have 1 Fat32 partition and 1 EXT4 partition on your sdcard
2 - If you rather use a computer for creating and formatting partitions keep in mind that both partitions must be primary partitions (not logical)
3 - The recommended size of your EXT4 partition is depending on how many roms and apps you are going to install.. 512M is the minimal size
Go to one of the links that I've wrote above and sent your question.

Thanks, I didn't see your links in the first post. Will go check them out. at the moment I have the base CM7 ROM on the phone if that helps with which recovery I use.
again thanks heaps!!! and I will go to those links now
