this thread might lead to your answer http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1300644&highlight=contacts+force+closing and if you have google+ installed from ICS that might be another problem, uninstall it. Try to use search button also on the top to find out your answers.

Have you tried this?

Stock Rom Q&A

As some of you have come from the captivate know what I did there with Rom Q&A threads. I am doing the same here. In an effort to clean up the site. All Rom related question shall from now on be posted in the proper Q&A or will be deleted on sight.
[Q] gingerbread 2.3.3 calendar issue
before updating to 2.3.3 I was able to click on either a address link or phone number in the calendar and it would open google maps or the keypad.
after updating the address and phone number link it opens "Verify the phone number"
is there a way to fix this?

HTC Sync problem now...
I am rooted and have loaded the rooted 2.3.3 rom, and flashed the radio/ril.
When trying to sync my calendar & contacts with HTC Sync, it connects but won't sync. I get "Your device does not have enough free memory."
I have 1.7gb free on sdcard, and .92gb free on phone. ALL I have checked is People & Calendar. Any ideas???
I was able to sync right after downgrading with AHK, but not now after flashing the latest rooted stock rom.
I need my contacts & calendar... on my phone... and like being able to use sync on my desktop, because Outlook has some calendar options that aren't on the phone calendar.

Yes. First I clicked "check for update" on sync, and it said "up to date". So I uninstalled, and noticed the version # on the HTC site was later than what I had. But still no worky... It connects and shows my device, when I click sync now, the bar goes to the end then says not enough mem.
I ended up exporting my contacts to a vCard file and putting on my sdCard and loading them that way.
Still wish sync would work though...

Stock rom root beore update or update then root?
I'm a noob and this question may have been asked but not finding it if it has. I have a stock htc inspire with 2.2.1 and baseband ver. 12.39a60.19u_26.06.06.30_M. I want to update it to the new 2.3.3 GB but not sure if I need to root and down grade radio first then update or do the update and then root it. I have been reading and I believe its safe to go a head and update then root and install a custom rom or a rooted stock rom with alot of bloat ware removed. I just want to make sure before doing anything cause really not sure if you need to down grade radio first then root or update then down grade radio if you have to. Plus it does make sense to update then root seeing you loose root once updated but really not sure if it matters. Just want to be able to root once I update to 2.3.3. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Root first since it'll wipe out whatever you've got on the phone anyway. If you do the update, then you've just added an additional unneeded step.
The ace hack kit will work with either version so don't worry about that.
Gene Poole Thanks for your reply. You say

So root the stock 2.2.1 then put the rooted 2.3.3 rom on it and it will down grade the radio and be rooted to the 2.3.3.

Android.process.acore Crashing when In Contacts

i have an annoying problem in the last days, any time i try to edit some contacts i got error message "the process androide.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly" i faced it with many stock roms like KPH, JPC & even the new one KPM, also with the custom roms
now i am unable to call some of my friends because of it, and i am unable to edit any info related to them, i have to log into my gmail account in order to do it, it makes me hate my phone.
What can this possibly be..., please give me some suggestions.

I've only had that issue with a certain modded phone or contact apk. you say you're having problems even with stock ROMs, but are you putting a modded apk in a stock ROM? if so, that's your problem. just use a different apk, preferably stock, to avoid that fc.
now i am using a stock rom which is KPM, and i still have FC in Contact item.

stock kpm has its own issues, but you said it also happens with STOCK kpe, STOCK kph, etc. what about those? you didn't answer whether or not you're using a STOCK app or modded...
@supergaijin
Stock one
Please next time, post in the Q&A Thread. Also do you use Titanium Backup? The problem why your Contact's or such is FC'ing is probably because you restored contact data+app, that's the only reasonable explanation to why your contact's will FC. Since you are on stock. Next time you restore. You only restore data, Never the app.
Sorry, i am using App Manager to resotre my app back, so maybe the problem from it.
flash again n this time don't replace any system apps during restore. Only data

[Q] Can't connect to Google services [WiFi icon is gray] and can't add Google account

Hello everyone,
I've searched like every post/thread on Xda-developers and other Android forums, but I couldn't find a solution to my problem. First of all the WiFi icon is grayed out. Solutions to this were: adding/removing Google accounts, resetting/restarting router, restarting phone, factory data reset. I tried EVERYTHING, but it wouldn't work. The second thing is, I can't add Google account after removing it. Solutions were: logging in via YouTube, cleaning data of: Google Play Store, Google Services Framework and Downloadmanager app. Resetted phone for the second time. But nothing works. I'm able to browse the internet and receive WhatsApp messages. The only that doesn't work are the Google apps. I hope someone with knowledge of this can help me, because i'm getting really frustrated and nothing helps.
Thanks in advance

I just flashed a new rom and have all the recent Google Apps, but it's still the same.
I now have the same problem on my Nexus 7
The rom I flashed is PACman version 19.0.0, Android version 4.1.2
I hope someone can help me.
OK, everything is good now, because I flashed cyanogenmod 10.1.2 on Nexus 7 and Alcatel OT-995.
