Any idea why the Market states, "Your device is not compatible with this item." ?And will not let me download or install Adobe Flash Player 11.
No idea...especially since I downloaded it just fine from the market.
Oh well, just downloaded the apk and installed it fine manually. Seemed to do the trick.

okay, i dont know if this has to do with sky raider, so please correct me if im wrong...im new to rooting and all that
but anyway, i tried to install the update and it told me the package was not signed correctly
SkyRaider 3.5 has a custom modified version of Flash 10.1 so that the included Hulu app works properly. It's the same as the market version.
HOWEVER, if you're really hell-bent on installing the version from the market. You must first uninstall Flash 10.1, then download and install the market "update"
Thanks, I was just wondering...like I said I'm new to all this stuff
Is there a way to remove the update notification? When I go into the market and look under my apps it shows an update available for flash. I dont want to do the update.
Hi, Just got my TF and attempted to install flash player. However, i get a message saying it cannot be installed because of my country (Trinidad and Tobago).
Flash capability was an important feature for me, so I would like to know what can I do to overcome this problem...short of moving to another country.
You could search for flash player apk and you should be able to get it that way.
edit: I've uploaded Flash 10.1 here, the latest version is 10.3.

Okay, sorry but I'm new to android...first day actually. I understand the concept of this. The file is the android package file for flash player. If I DL it to my TF, how do I install/setup on the device?
And also...do you recommend searching for 10.3 apk, because an initial google search gave a few results for 10.3, or should i stick with 10.1 that you posted. Thanks.
just go to where you stored it with the file manager app included and open it. Also 10.3 is better.
Okay, thanks for the quick solutions. Off to try.
One thing you will need to do before you can just install it is to go to settings>applications then put a check mark in the 'unknown sources' box. You probably wont be able to install that file unless you do. Then use the inbuilt file manager to install the apk file as seshmaru said above.
And Flash 10.3 is here:

No worries, when you try to install an app from the file manager without having it enabled it tells you and asks you if you want it to redirect you to settings to allow it.

Cool. They've thought of everything then.
Success
Tried it and it worked. Got a message saying it was successfully installed.
Or maybe not....there isn't any icon for the flash player app and websites using flash tell me that I need flash player.
After DLing the apk file, i went to the location and opened it. It said installing, than said successfully installed. Any ideas??
Enable the plugin in the browser.

Sorry ....but...how exactly do I do that?
browser settings>advanced>enable plug-ins. Set to either always on, or on demand if you prefer to click and select the things that load.
Ok, got it to work! Nice.
But, can it work in firefox as well? Pages with flash work in the browser, but in my firefox app
I flashed with "VEGAn-TAB GingerEdition STABLE RC1". I'm impressed how everything works smooth and great. Market downloads and installs if I connect to google talk first.
The adobe flash player downloads but cannot install, it gives : "package file is invalid". Other apps installs.
I tried the suggestions that I found in the forum, including rebooting, reseting trying to install from file, trying to install different versions 10.1 10.2 or 10.3 without any luck.
Still the same error. Before trying to flash it again, I wanted to as if anybody have a suggestion ?
thanks in advance.
i also have the same problem. went to download flash player 10.3 from android market, for my htc wildfire. it just wont install
Phoned HTC up and they said it means the device dosent support flash
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA Premium App
Use Task Manager, or 'Manage Application', or Uninstaller, etc . . . to check and uninstall any flash player version that was already installed in/with the rom. Then download and install a later version of your choice. I had to do it once before. Hope that it would be the same in your cases.
Dave,
Hi guys,
I tried installing "Gameboid" on my Galaxy Player 4.0 US version, but when i hit "install" after the processing was done, it said "Application Not Installed." By the way, Gameboid is not an app from Google Play. I downloaded the app from their official website. After that, I tried again downloading an ".apk" file from 4shared but again, it said the same thing.. do you guys have any idea of how to fix this??
this is only happening on this app... I downloaded many other apps from the internet and the all worked fine except for this.
Hope you guys reply!
PS. do you guys know if there is an ICS port for the Galaxy Player 4.0 yet?
do you have an older version of gameboid already installed? if so, remove it first, then try reinstalling.
have tried.

Sorry for the LATE reply and thanks for the idea. But unfortunately it didn't work. Gameboid is an app which you find off the internet, it is not in Google Play. This is what I did.
1) Installed the .apk from google on the player, not from the official website.
2) Installed the app from the official website
3) Installed the app from the official website and copied to sd and tried to run from there.
I have tried all three things and NONE of them have worked. It is not an incompatibility issue because my friend also has the app running on his Galaxy Player 4.0. And YES I do have the latest version of Gameboid
Uninstall whichever version you have on your phone right now, wipe dalvik cache, and then re-install
I just tried to install an apk I downloaded that wasn't available on GPlay, but when I tried to install it via firefox or dropbox, it won't let me. But it a different story when I saved it to the phone and installed from there. Did they change it or is something different?
Yes, I have this issue also. I have use my file manager to install downloaded apps. Started with Android 10.
