[Q] [Help] IMG Custom Roms

When I downloaded the shipped-roms, there are lots of .img files
I want to open them, but I dont know how to open, can anyone tell me?
How to open and edit the .img files.

On Linux you can mount the file if your kernel supports the yaffs filesystem, the other (easy) way is with a tool called unyaffs.

Hi all,
Is it possible to edit an .rfs or .img file?
I downloaded a ROM for my Samsung Galaxy S from samfirmware, I extracted the file and I found inside 6-7 files like boot.bin, factoryfs.rfs, cache.rfs, param.lfs etc.
Also some ROMs I downloaded doesn't have .rfs files, instead they have .img files.
Im using Ubuntu and Windows 7.
How can I access and edit those files?

I use MagicISO to view/extract .rfs files.

Magic ISO works only on 'untouched' RFS images.
If the FS get defragmented, it will not works anymore...
...that's why you cant read /data and /cache rfs images (they got written and writtena nd written...)
There is a solution ALWAYS working ?

Try ext2explore. It works flawlessly with Z5's ext4 file.

i want to edit android .img but i do not know what tools used i've tried some tools but can not for repack if for unpack it can
and I also want to edit some bin files in the fimware folder that I downloaded
is there any application to edit android.img file and .bin file?
or is there a way to edit the file?

Same problem here, the tool I use easily unpacks .dat file but can't repack .img to .dat! So wierd but the problem is with nougat/oreo. You found any solution?
