I need some help here. - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Well, I bought the HTC 7 Surround 2-3 weeks ago and I first had one problem at the time. Previously, the phone never used to boot past the white HTC boot screen. After a few huff-n-puffs and taking the phone to a friend, was that problem fixed. Now I have a problem with two things. Firstly, by playing games on the Surround, the phone heats up, just like it used to do on my HTC Sensation 4G. The second problem is that the phone keeps on randomly freezing for no apparent reason. Also, the speakers weren't all that up to the mark as the descriptions were describing them to be, which was the main reason for me buying the HTC 7 Surround in the first place. Other than that, it's a pretty good phone and even though it was my first time using a W7 phone, I found the interface really good and I want to use them to the full extent that I can. I found W7 much more a better experience than the Android. Though, I do not dislike Android developments either.
I might have spare cash to spend on a phone, after selling some junk I had been meaning to get rid of, in a month or so. Which one of these W7 phones should I get?:
HTC HD7
HTC Titan
Dell Venue
Samsung Focus
Oh and if there is an android that someone likes, I might go in that direction as well as long as it's a phone looking at and giving a wow on. Thanks for all the help and long live XDA Developers!

Wow, I thought at least one person would have thought of replying to this.

First, take your phone back for the manufacture warranty, I highly suspect that is hardware problems.

That highly depends on your taste. Big screen, medium screen. I prefer Trophy over HD7. The screen is too big. 3.7" is enough here. So no HD7 and Titan. Maybe, HD7.
Dell Venue I wouldnt even try. The hardware is ugly and, well, Dell is not meant to be phones.
Focus is pretty nice, I think. But Titan has the best hardware.
Your choice.

If you like big screens, the Titan is the way to go at the moment at least

Wait a week and see what Nokia world says and if any of those phones are going to be released in the US (or if you'd be able to import one over from Europe).

Samsung Focus S will be out soon. It will doubtlessly be the best WP7 device on the market.

Hmm.. that seems like a good idea. I figured it as much but I really wanted to see if it is was something else that was creating the fuss on the phone.

Well, I am more of a big screen guy, but the Trophy is looking kind of interesting to me. I never noticed it yet. Yeah, I heard good things about Focus as well. I might just end up with HD7 or Titan. I will have to think this over. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the comment. I agree on this. Big screen = Titan. I just have to see if I really want the Titan or I want something smaller. I get real messed up in the last moment of buying a phone that I buy something that I never planned on buying. This time, I have ample time for thinking it over.

I might be waiting a month to get cash in hand to buy whatever phone that I finally decide on buying. I heard of the new Nokia 800 phone that is going to be released. I hear it's really good. I have yet to check it out. I have a cousin that lives in the UK so it's not a big issue importing the phone from there. Thanks for the post.

Yes, I heard of it from a few friends that are eager for it as well. A few are either going for the Mozart, Focus or Titan. I have a friend with an iPhone 4G who is not at all happy with the phone constantly dropping its signals and losing connections to calls because of it. Thanks for the post. I will take a look at the Focus again.

I have the same phone.
The phone does heat up. But i don't have any of the other problems. Did you press the button on the speaker? It makes the sound much better.
I don't have any freezing or booting problems.
Did you update to 7.5

Please recommend a phone to me...

I have had the iphone 2g for a while now and would like to get a new phone... I am on USA Tmobile and would like a touch screen phone which has 3G capabilities (with Tmobile USA)...
I have tried the HD2, but I returned it because of its lack of quality games (especially with that nice Hardware you might think it has some games to work with it, but no -sadly).... I also tried the Nexus One, but I cannot seem to justify it is worth almost $600 especially when the Multitouch is not as good as my old beat up iPhone 2G (the N1 gets confused when you have two fingers on the same axis)....
so now I was thinking about getting a G1, but I cannot find one for under $100 in decent condition... I would like an android phone, or a WM phone capable of a nice android port.... I am not looking to spend too much because it will be a used phone (most likely) and I will probably get another phone next year (hopefully there will be some decent phones which live up to my expectations AND would be compatible with Tmobile USA...
I was thinking of getting a G1 with a cracked screen (but still working fine other than that) for around 60$....do any of you think that is worth it?...I see new screens for $35, and I know the whole LCD is not bad if it still works then it must just be the digitizer so maybe I can get that cheaper....I am pretty sure I can repair it myself, but then again it might be fine enough with the crack since I will change phones anyways....
Any suggestions or recommendations / advice ?
Thanks in advance....
I would say either the Nexus or the Incredible.
The nexus is going to be having a update that makes it run 450% faster (No thats not a typo)
But the incredible is also very very nice. Its really up to you.
EDIT: Do not buy that g1. =)

see the thing is I am looking for a USA Tmobile compatible phone (stated in OP), so Incredible = no go...next I said I tried the nexus one and I do not want it because I cannot stand that it cannot out perform my old iPhone 2g on multitouch (also stated in OP).... so I was looking for something cheap for the time being, until next year or so when some new phone comes out...
Thanks for your suggestions though!....
so on those lines... I think the g1 is my best bet right now....
please advise me with your insights

Uhhh the Incredible is out for the US. (Ive played with one, And i live in Hawaii.)
The nexus one is still fairly new and when Android 2.2 comes out it's probably gonna out perform any HTC phone hands down.
I have a g1 and I love it and i highly suggest. It has never let me down. But it does feel a bit outdated.

see the incredible is not available for GSM networks... so that is where it fails for me because I do not want to switch companies right now at least
now as for the nexus one -it is a hardware problem I am referring to...it has a synaptic multitouch sensor which limits it permanently (no software update will solve this)...therefore I am just waiting for a new iteration of one of those or something new all together (even wm 7 may do...we will see though)
Now so I guess that leaves me with options like the tilt(s), g1, mytouch (I prefer really not to get this though), or the touch pro 2 (overpriced)...
any ideas ? I guess the g1 is the way to go for me ... I may get one with a broken screen, change the screen and the housing and even get a new trackball...it would be clean and would also not be more than about 120 or so....which doesn't seem too bad considering it would be in like new condition (hopefully)....

If you want a windows 7 laggy phone with a 1st gen processor compared to a 2nd gen, and less memory. Then go for it... if you want an android phone that has a really nice Sense UI and will have lots of development for it in the future as far as rooting and ROM'S, get the MyTouch 4G
The hd7 isn't laggy. It works quite well, and the media player is far superior to anything android is offering. However, it is CLEARLY a work in progress. For this reason, steer clear for now. Give it a year.
I beg to differ about the hd7. I just got done playing with it and all I can say is just NICE. The devise is really nice, built quality and screen. Switching through is very fast and smooth. The only downside, not an andriod phone
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
The HD7 hardware is already outdated and it's 1st gen OS. Sure, the media player is nice. MS has been in that game for a while now (WMP and Zune). The source is totally closed, though. In my book, I wouldn't go near it until v2 of the OS is out. Even then, if you like to mod like I do, go with the MT4.

I have been waiting for the MT4G as I had a free upgrade and went to my local t-mobile store to compare it with my current Vibrant. I was totally disappointed to see how laggy it was while web browsing. Also noticed the screen response to be really poor as compared to the vibrant as I sometimes had to touch the screen multiple times to get a result. So does my experience alone make the MT4G a piece of crap? Also if you check out reviews whether from professional sites or users, the WP7 being laggy has never been mentioned.
I can understand if you said well the HD7 doesn't have a FFC or no HSPA+ or no tethering option or no flash player then I could understand and agree, but WP7 being laggy? That's a first. To those who are on the fence, asking others for their opinion about MT4G vs HD7 in a MT4G forum will more than often get a biased response and vice versa. Best thing is to go to a store and check it out for yourself. Even if you have to buy it I'm sure you can return it if you think the WP7 is not for you.
I went in the store today and played with an HD7, it was a nice device. MSFT lost me forever though (unless they give me a free phone). Netflix is a pimp feature, I wish I had that on my MT4G. But that is about the only up I give it.
Funny thing though. I logged into my NF account, and couldn't log out. So I put the phone in bootloader mode so no one could use my account until I got back to change the password.
As I put it in BL, an alarm started going off. I thought it was something else til the guy came up to me and asked what I was doing. "I don't know I was just pushing buttons and this screen popped up". He told me he had to let the phone die and reboot it cause the battery was glued in. I liked that it gave me plenty of time to change the password.
Okkkk so I was at tmobile first thing monday morning to get the HD7! last night I went ahead and exchanged if for a sexy plum MT4G!
Honestly using the HD7 was like using the iphone 2g again there is absotuley no multitasking....so for example if u leave ur instant messenger app to go text....it logs u completely out....if u leave slacker radio to text....slacker radio stops playing and u have to start all over when u go back...u never know when u have twitter new mentions or messages causes there's no notifications.....the camara button is down on the side where u hold the phone while ur talking on it so when Im taking a call I'm also taking 10 to 15 pics....there's others but ill stop here oh yea and no copy and paste (just like the first iphone lol)
And the biggest dissapoinment is....it wouldnt let me copy and drag files from my linux ubuntu 10.10...even on my windows 7 u have to download zune software....like it doesn't even find the phone when u plug it in....seriously its like the iphone wanna be....
But the screen, size, and keyboard is amazing
But being an iphone user then going over to android...i have to say I can't go back to no multitasking.....wp7 is a couple years behind as of right now...i would give a year or 2 lol when the software has matured and also the marketplace!
I went from a nexus one to a vibrant back to nexus one to a G2 back to a nexus one to a HD7 to a MT4G and absolutely adore this phone right out the box....DEF TAKE ADVANTAGE of tmo buyers remorse GOOD LUCK

What do you guys think of the look of the MT4G? Ppl said it looks kinda like for kids. Do you guys think it's sleek and professional? Im kinda skeptical about if i went out and get the MT4G and ppl think im using a kiddie phone.
My thoughts, I played with one yesterday in the store. It is nice, screen is nice and did not feel laggy, the screen scrolling was the smoothest I have seen.
But I agree with most of the other people as my choice was for th MT4G. One big issue is, MS and closed source. None of the WM apps for 6.5 will work on it and there are very few new apps available right now. This with old generation processor and less memory and potential for good ole Windows freezes and having to reboot is a good reason to give the HD7 a pass and I did.
After my HD2 I wont be touching another wm phone. The app store was bad with the 6.5 wm. The fact that those old apps wont even work on wm7. Is enough for me to stay far.
P.s. I admit I am intrigued by the xbl connection though. But the hd2 soured me to the point of no return.

Everyone has different opinions. As long as you are happy with the way it looks and performs, who cares?

GS2 is not even out and GS3 coming in fall?? wtf...

http://www.itproportal.com/2011/04/27/samsung-galaxy-s3-challenge-iphone-5-autumn/
If true thats ridiculous....the GS2 isn't even out yet! Can we wait at least a year and a half for a successor?? I'd imagine many wont be pleased is thats true...
I want to get a new phone but its crazy how so may phones come out so quickly and out-dating the other...I feel like just getting the Iphone 5 and stick with that, at least there wont be a million choices like with android and get tempted to keep switching back and forth, I swear with android its like a new phone thats better comes out shortly after one phone comes out.
Anyone think they know what IP5 might have? Dual Core, better screen, different design, better Camera?

Note how that article says samsung is thinking of a 2ghz device sometime next year, NOT this year, then there is speculation that the device is the SGS3, and then there is someone doing even further speculation that it could come out this fall, even though we know this is impossible partly because the SGS2 variant for verizon probably won't be out until a couple months before then at best based on current news. This is just overspeculation leading to insane predictions. SGS3 in Jan or Feb next year is possible though if Tegra 3 is out by then though, as samsung will want to compete, but that's just my own speculation and have no factual data backing it as well.
Meh, I like having the highest tiered phone as much as the next guy so something new/awesome coming out right after I got the past top tier phone is a little irritating, however having new things out is always great.
I can't see me needing anything stronger than the Galaxy S 2; I would love a 4.5 inch screen but 4.3 and the specs it has is great.
The Wonders of competition I'd rather they were doing this than have technology move very slowly, Just pick a phone you like, Not slow, looks good, nice screen, decent camera and then stick with it

Agreed. You can drive yourself insane waiting for the perfect device. Pick whatever suits you best when you need a new phone and stick with it for a year or two or until you genuinely need more power.
I stuck with my mt3g as long as I could. Now I have the mt4g and love it! I don't anticipate outgrowing it any time soon.

It is pretty frustrating :S Especially for Canadians, we get locked in 3 year contracts, not 2
the grass is always greener.
Well you're not alone. It's not like software/graphics wise, it's keeping up with the hardware. I don't really see any game that's pushing the tegra devices to their limit, or even power vr sgx540.
So point being, even if hardware improves dramatically next year, last year's phones will still keep up with what today demands.
sgs2 is already out, just not in north america yet.

Lulzy.
I don't see a problem with SGS the Third coming out next year... one solid leap forward every year sounds perfectly legitimate to me so long as the tech and improvements are keeping pace.
Yeah. I'm a little knicked that I got a great phone (HTC HD2) released here in the US a little over a year ago, then the next thing I know it's EVO with Android, no Android for the HD2 (still the best hardware out there) and no Windows Phone 7 upgrade for the HD2 either from TMO. Now I'm trolling XDA and trying to put together the info and ability (and trying to work up the balls) to set up my HD2 on a dual boot with Android on SD and WinMo 6.5 NAND.
It gets old.
wth!!! how look that? i think really better than GS2

Switched to the g2x

Bye. My touch 4g, it's been almost a year, we had an awesome run, and your still one of my favorites, but Ive moved on to the g2x, and I haven't had any of the problems other are experiencing , this is a pretty awesome phone and I don't regret it, but if a new mytouch from HTC comes out ill be sure to go with that, until then ill be rocking the g2x.

That is one of the phones I am contemplating jumping ship for, how is LGs UI? You'll have to give a small review if you don't mind. Not sure if I want to go G2X or Sensation. Never owned an LG but I loooove HTC. Either way, good luck with the new phone.

Thanks guys, as for the phone itself its awesome I'm running bionix2, so I didn't really get accustomed to the stock UI, the screen itself is larger so typing is easier, and the colors seem allot deeper, I do miss my led notification light but that can be replaced with mods to the capasitive buttons (someone will come up with that), and the sensation is actually running a older processor arm a8 clocked at 1.2ghz vs the g2x arm a9 processer at 1ghz, so its actually better to get the g2x, I haven't had any problems and the update will fix any bugs, and by the time the sensation comes out the update will be released so either way I'm good.

I've been thinking of doing the same. I'm so fed up with HTC's lack of quality control that I've been looking at picking up a used Vibrant.
I love this device but after 7 phones, FINALLY getting a perfect phone and now a few months later having dust under the screen the romance is gone.
Let us know how it goes with the g2x. Maybe when the sensation comes out I'll give HTC another chance.

I feel EXACTLY the same way. Took my 5 phones to get to my perfect good screen then one month later dust under the top left corner of my screen.... And it's just getting worse. I love HTC but they quality control is horrendous. I don't care what people say about Samsung and their quality, but they make damn god phone's whether it's plastic or not. I've been trying to trade my phone for a Nexus S just because of this.
No problems here...
This is very interesting to read the users on this forum have exchanged their MT4G seven times. I have had absolutely no problems with my phone and I purchased it when it was released.

I got mine when it came out and it has the crap screen, but that was the only problem. But a few weeks ago i got a deal on one i couldn't pass on,with the good screen. I might sell that one, but i got a bad habit of keeping all my phones. Lol
I agree with the OP too, don't get the sensation. The CPU in it is actually outdated and QualComm already has a Quad-Core CPU in the works. Go with a Mali device or Tegra 2/3 .
G2x is quality control isn't that good either. My G2x has the worst LCD I've ever seen. It bleeds from all 4 corners and the battery only last 8 hours. I am running my own aosp rom.

I really just can't bring myself to purchase anything produced by LG.....It is such a Sh** brand. I would rather a company that focuses on making one thing great than a bunch of things mediocre. Great, you put a sweet processor in your phone..you still suck LG.

So definitely no Samsung products for you, since they make more differentiating products than any manufacturer. The G2x is having problems, just go look at their forums, but a patch is coming out soon that should alleviate the problems, except for the LCD bleeding.
I have to say, a ton of LG Optimus Ts get sold I have never had to do troubleshooting on one. I would say most calls are about HTC or Motorola products. In my own personal experience of troubleshooting, I'd say the manufacturers that make many different products seem to have the least problem phones, when compared to the phone only manufacturers.

So definitely no Samsung products for you, since they make more differentiating products than any manufacturer. The G2x is having problems, just go look at their forums, but a patch is coming out soon that should alleviate the problems, except for the LCD bleeding.

You are correct. I would not own a samsung phone either...they should stick with televisions. Also, look at the time the G2X came out. To think that it was worth upgrading from the glacier with the next wave of great phones coming out shortly is just silly.

The people with a good G2x, which is most, absolutely love their phone and the patch should fix the rest. Remember HTC made the HD2 and Motorola made the Cliq & Cliq XT. I cringe when I hear someone having a problem and I know exactly which line has the problem because one of the 3 phones above are the culprit. 1
Even with the G2x issues, LG and Samsung have a better track record than Motorola and HTC is problems with phones.
That may be true, they may love their phones. But to buy the G2X when the next big wave is about to come out makes no sense to me whatsoever. It is like purchasing a 2010 Ferrari a month before the 2011 comes out. (I use that example because smart phones are usually the same price, and that is a car where the price is not an issue). And as for the quality issue, I have never had an issue whatsoever with an HTC phone. I am a firm believer that 99% of the issues are user related. Like the guy who had 7 Mt4G's that wouldn't wake up on the stock ROM..c'mon now..
I loved HTC until recently. Had a flawless mt3g for almost a year and sold it for exactly what I paid for it. Here's the history with my glaciers.
1. Dust under screen.
2. Mushy power button and bad screen.
3. Bad screen.
4. Loud click from bottom.
5. Less loud click.
6. Keeper.
Three months later I have massive dust under screen.
7. Bad screen.
8. Mushy power button, scuffed up, bad emmc chip.
9. Bad screen.
At this point I gave up. I'm staying with #6 and shopping for a used Vibrant.

Like I said, you may be right. Maybe I just got lucky to get a good phone. I have had absolutely no issues. Good screen, good emmc chip, no dust under screen. I just associate LG with crappy products. I still would have waited for the Sensation.

What phones are coming out that outdo it? The G2x will get 2.3 very soon and has a tegra 2 processor that won't be outdone by the Sensation's chip. It may be faster processing speed(200Mhz) but many think the Tegra 2 processor is still faster than the Qualcomm.
You'll choose the Sensation if you want a 4.3" screen and the G2x if you want a 4" screen. They're made for different people, with speed and abilities being pretty well equal. The next jump won't happen until this fall with the quad-core processors.

Jumping ship soon..

.. to join team HTC Sensation XE!
I'm going to exchange my Samsung Galaxy Nexus this week with o2 due to the HUGE palava going on with the volume/rf interference issues.
I had an HTC Desire previously, so I get the feeling the Sensation is pretty much it's big brother?
Are there any issues I should be looking for upon receipt of the XE? Or were things such as dust under the screen sorted out for the updated handset?
Is it worth rooting the XE? If yes, why? What are the benefits?
In hindsight I wish i'd just got the XE, it was my first choice but the samsung launch won me over. I feel dirty
There is a lot of issues mentioned here on forum, battery, dust, and so on and so on...
But none of this happened on my XE! and battery is bigger, so just give it a try
I rooted it in first day, just because stock rom drains battery faster, on custom rom I having 2+ day's without charging.
And I love my XE
I had desire before too, you'll love your sensation
had dust under screen within 3 weeks of usage , phone was in soft gel case with a screen protector. Id defintly advise to check screen i looked at 3 before purchase and there was a massive difference in 2 of the 3 like night and day
Good luck on your purchase i would have liked to keep this phone becouse i bagged a great deal on it but i just couldent be bothered swapping again so just canceled contract. Im back on my htc desire and couldent be happyier ill be waiting for the next round of phones before looking again
wouldnt do it.
galaxy nexus = awesome screen.
and my backcover-unibody has issues so my screen is not in the unibody correctly..
seems u cant open the phone a few times, bcause of the unibody..
hey mate
i dont have any issues with my htc sensation . I've got it as a free upgarde from 3uk and doesnt have a single defect. It appears though that some people they do have , allthough this didnt stop me from getting my sensations and honestly i love it! except the battery life .... but then again my htc desire didnt have better ....lol
For me get the htc sensation nice looking ,speedy lots of custom ROMs.excellent build quality.
Good Luck with your choice
To be honest, Samsung's response to the volume issue on the nexus hasn't filled me with confidence.
It IS a beautiful phone but just feels to thin, and it's not too comfortable for my girly hands to hold.
I got the Sensation XE from O2
Not a problem with dust etc and the screen is excellent . I may upgrade in March to the Nexus when all the issues have been resolved , if they ever do !
To be honest though , its dual core running at 1.5 Ok could have come with more user available RAM but I have no slow downs etc .
If you get the O2 version can you dump the ROM fist as I have made mine fully stock now and would need the O2 version of the ROM if I ever needed to take it back.
Yep I know I'm a Numpty for not backing up in the first place
The nexus fix is software related and in on the way according to the "androidauthority" site, that goes for the European nexus ,u can have a look on the article if u like .I can't post any links because I am n00b here

I have my Sensation for almost 2 months and no dust, no touchscreen issue, nothing. Just wifi deathgrip, which is not a dealbreaker and rarely the screenshot capture bug (also not a dealbreaker); but I wouldn't exchange a Galaxy Nexus for a Sensation (only if you really like Sense), I would wait for the volume bug to be solved.
Already exchanged it, prefer sense as i've come from an HTC Desire. I'm not one to get my nerd on about cutting edge tech specs etc. Much happier now (and that's what matters, right? )
ICS is gonna rock on this phone!

Well, if you like personalised stuff, eye-candy UI and apps out-of-the-box then yes, AOSP is not what you're looking for

the htc sensation is the best!
Love my sensation.. but id have Definitely gone with a 720p display. I admit I love sense .. it may not be super fast but its responsive and is awesome to look at (for me anyway).. maybe the rezound?? It looks promising and would get ics but I'm not too sure how the adreno 220 would work on a 720p display. I would not recommend the galaxy nexus cause as far as I have heard that ti processor uses the old galaxy s g.p.u Fail. Wait, does 02 have that?

Really? Loud clamor about this volume issue (which is all relative because only a small number of people have this issue anyways) only started to come up a few days ago, and Google has already said that they are working on a fix. They addressed the issue and announced they are working on it literally only a few days after angry Galaxy Nexus owners took to the internet. How much faster do you want? Of course we don't know how long the fix will take, but at least they've already acknowledged the issue, and I'm assuming the fix will come very quickly as they will want to have it spotless before it hits the U.S.
To be honest, HTC's response to serving Sensation owners half-baked Sense software, low volume problems, dust issues, and death grip problems hasn't filled me with confidence at all, because they never did respond at all.
At the time I wrote that, Samsung UK had up until that point not even issued a statement of acknowledgement and been deleting posts from their Facebook page! The phone should never have been allowed to be sold in the state it was.
The fix seems to be a software solution to a seemingly hardware problem (long thread on the G Nex forum..). Is this just going to be masking the problem?
I also had a fault with the phone powering off when it was plugged into usb charging and had reached 100%.
The Sensation XE was the phone I originally had my eye on, before the Nexus was even launched. I was won over, but when I actually had the handset, the faults and the physical dimensions and FEEL of the phone just weren't things I was prepared to work with. The XE is more comfortable for me to hold, I was actually getting aches in my hand from the Nexus. Probably because being female, my hands are smaller than that of an adult male.
I had 14 days from purchase of the phone to swap for another, no questions asked. I had to make the decision this week as I personally don't have time later in the 14 days to return it.
So there we go, I don't see why I have to justify my actions but oh well. I've made the right decision for me. The Galaxy Nexus is a bloody fantastic phone but I just didn't get along with it.
Honestly, what's the point of having an awesome phone if you're not 100% happy with it?

i agree with everything you said, i too would probably have made the same choice as you, some people are just obsessed with having the newest/latest and as everyone "should" know, thats not always the best choice or best device...

Yeah I wouldn't do it either. The Galaxy Nexus's volume issue will be solved soon - and it's a better phone on paper. Funny, I love the Sensation (XE/XL) but I'd still suggest the Nexus over it.
Edit: Read OPs post about hand cramps and whatnot, I read the first post and assumed it was only the volume woes, but I see it now. Definitely go Sensation.
Wasn't it tough to go back to a qhd from a 720p display?

owned my sensation since August and so far there's no problems with dust or anything like that. loving it!
No issues with mine at all.
I like GN but since ICS is coming to Sensation I see no point in upgrading.
I do not like sense on it though. This "3D" scroll is nothibg but pissing me off. I wont root as I develop apps so stock is the way for me to go.
